They were at it again in Sunday's 37-36 loss to Cincinnati Youth Ryan Ramczyk Jersey , allowing Andy Dalton to complete a 13-yard touchdown pass to A.J. Green with 7 seconds remaining."It's like just taking your heart and ripping it out," defensive end Vic Beasley said. "It's tough, but it's just part of the game. It's why we play the game. We play the game to win, but sometimes that's how it ends up."The Falcons gave up touchdowns on the first four drives, but held the Bengals to one field goal in the second half before Dalton directed a 16-play, 75-yard drive. He completed one third-down pass and two fourth-down throws to Tyler Boyd, all against Desmond Trufant. On the winning catch, Dalton had an easy decision to look for Green, a seven-time Pro Bowl selection, to come open against zone coverage with inexperienced cornerback Isaiah Oliver defending the right side of the end zone.Dalton had enough time to wait for Green to come open and slide down for the catch. Oliver and Brian Poole were closest to the receiver, but had no chance to make a play."I probably should've sank back a little bit more http://www.thesaintsfootballauthentic.com/thomas-morstead-jersey-authentic , like 3 or 4 yards," Oliver said. "(Defensive coordinator Marquand Manuel) said that it sucks right now, but you've just got to take it and learn something from it. It can't all be negative."There hasn't been much positivity for Atlanta's defense this year. Two starters 鈥?strong safety Keanu Neal and free safety Ricardo Allen 鈥?are injured and out for the season. Defensive captain Deion Jones, a third-year linebacker, is sidelined with a foot injury and will miss at least the next six weeks.Even though they've allowed 80 points in the past two games, Sunday wasn't entirely a disaster for the defense. Takk McKinley had three sacks, all in the second half, and safety Damontae Kazee got his first career interception.A big call that could have favored Beasley went Cincinnati's way in the fourth quarter. McKinley took down Dalton for a 10-yard loss and the ball came loose and Beasley recovered the fumble at the Atlanta 18. But the ruling was reversed because Dalton's knee was down. A 36-yard field goal cut the lead to 33-31.Beasley returned to the game quickly in the first quarter after leaving with an ankle injury. He knew the line was in bad shape depth wise. McKinley missed last week with a groin injury, and reserve end Derrick Shelby didn't dress for the second straight game because of a groin injury.McKinley said the defense can't afford to let the injuries affect its collective psyche."We have to finish," McKinley said. "Regardless how many points we held them to in the second half, we lost the game."Last week's loss to New Orleans dropped the Falcons to 1-1 in the NFC South when quarterback Drew Brees forced overtime with a 7-yard touchdown run and then won the game with a 1-yard run in the extra period.Against Cincinnati http://www.thesaintsfootballauthentic.com/ken-crawley-jersey-authentic , the Falcons did it again. They'll have another chance to get it right next week at Pittsburgh."Those are the moments I'm talking about where when it's time to close the door and shut it, we're going to develop that instinct," coach Dan Quinn said. "We do not have it as we need to right now. But as it got down to it, that's where we need more attention and more time." A look at some key fantasy football questions going into Week 7:WHICH SAINTS WR WILL HAVE THE BIGGEST BOOST IN PRODUCTION WITH TED GINN ON INJURED RERSERVE?The Saints have been high on Tre'Quan Smith since the preseason. He had 16 receptions (three for 20 yards or more) this summer, and with Ginn sidelined in Week 5 he caught three passes for 111 yards and added two TDs. His two scores went for 62 and 35 yards, showing he's a big play receiver. Although he was second on the team in routes run, in Week 5 he only received three targets.Cameron Meredith should play most of his snaps from the slot. He might receive more targets and catch more passes than Smith, but Smith has the bigger upside. Saints receivers have a tough matchup against a good Ravens defense this week, so don't become alarmed if neither player puts up big numbers. Both receivers should see an uptick in production but Smith has better potential for the rest of the season.WHICH UNDER-THE-RADAR WR HAS THE BEST CHANCE FOR A BIG GAME IN WEEK 7?Bears WR Allen Robinson has been dealing with a groin injury this week. He may not play and if he does, he might be limited. Robinson's injury could make Taylor Gabriel Chicago's most targeted receiver this week. Gabriel hasn't dropped a pass since Week 3 and has two straight games with 100 receiving yards or more. The Patriots defense has given up the third most TDs to wide receivers with nine this season. Gabriel leads Bears WRs with four targets within the 10-yard line, so should have a good opportunity to score a TD in Week7.Jets WR Jermaine Kearse could be in line for another double-digit target week vs. the Vikings. With Quincy Enunwa out Youth Michael Thomas Jersey , Kearse should play a significant portion of his snaps from the slot, a weakness for the Vikings defense.WHICH UNDER-THE-RADAR RB HAS THE BEST CHANCE FOR A BIG GAME THIS WEEK?Peyton Barber may eventually lose his starting job to rookie RB Ronald Jones but it's not likely to happen right now. Barber's coming off his best performance of the season, having rushed the ball 13 times for 82 yards (that's 6.31 yards per carry). He also added four receptions for 24 yards and a TD. He has the potential to build upon that with a choice matchup against the Browns. They've given up 4.67 yards per carry and the second-most rushing TDs to the position this season.Kerryon Johnson could also have a larger role out of the Lions backfield this week if Theo Riddick is forced to miss time due to his knee injury. Johnson has averaged 5.98 yards per carry in his last four games and could be featured in the Lions passing game if Riddick is out.WHICH UNDER-THE-RADAR TE COULD BREAK OUT?Fantasy football players have been waiting a long time for Austin Hooper to emerge as a reliable fantasy TE. Well, it looks like it's finally happening. Hooper has caught nine passes in each of the last two weeks and has over 70 receiving yards in each of the past two outings as well. With Mohamed Sanu and Calvin Ridley battling injuries and questionable to play on Monday night, Hooper should see double-digit targets for a third straight game.CAN YOU RECOMMEND A GOOD BUY LOW TARGET AMONG WRS?Browns WR Jarvis Landry averaged just under seven catches per game through Week 3. He's maintained an average of 11 targets per game, but since Week 3 his has just over four catches per game. Now he gets a very favorable schedule over the next four weeks, facing the Buccaneers, Steelers, Chiefs and Falcons. All four of those teams are top 6 in most yards per game yielded to slot receivers. If you own Landry, use him with confidence starting this week. If you don't, his two catch for 11-yard Week 6 performance might allow you to trade for him at a discount.IF DALVIN COOK IS ACTIVE FOR WEEK 7 SHOULD HE BE IN STARTING LINEUPS?Cook's status (hamstring) needs to be closely monitored as game time approaches but even if he's active http://www.thesaintsfootballauthentic.com/ted-ginn-jr-jersey-authentic , if you have an alternate option, you should use it. Leading up to Week 6, Cook's practice status was as both a limited and full participant, he was also questionable, then likely to play and finally inactive. With the constant uncertainty surrounding his availability and the number of snaps he'll play if active, try to minimize your risk and slip another RB into your lineup if possible.IS IT TOO LATE TO TRY TO TRADE STEELERS RB JAMES CONNER?No. It never hurts to put a player with Conner's skill set on the trading block and allow offers to come your way. The potential impending arrival of Le'Veon Bell could drive down Conner's fantasy trade appeal, but if and when Bell reports, he's probably not going to be able to take on a full workload for a couple of weeks. If Bell reports and is activated for Week 8 he'd probably suit up, but it might take until Week 10 before he can possibly work as a bell cow back again. It could even still be a time share. Don't be too surprised if Conner retains a significant role in the Steelers offense.Gauge his value if you have another feasible option at RB that you can slide into your weekly lineup. If you don't, continue to use Conner until he's no longer a surefire starter.
The Los Angeles Rams are looking to extend their record to 2-0 in Week 2 in the 2018 home opener against the Arizona Cardinals. So to get a better sense of who we’re facing White Cory Littleton Jersey , I linked up with Seth Cox from Revenge of the Birds, the SB Nation community for Cardinals fans. The offense really never got on track last week. Was that something to be expected (though perhaps not to that degree) or was it a surprise? What’s the primary issue or two to get fixed ASAP?On defense, how are things shaping up? It’s Al Holcomb’s first go as an NFL defensive coordinator, so I’m sure teams are paying close attention to the job he’ll do. Is the depth chart in alright shape?Who are the major first-year contributors? Obviously the coaching changeover and new QB depth chart is going to be a focal point of change from 2017, but what else is going to make 2018 different from last year overall? Thanks to Seth for the time. It has been a whirlwind first 11 weeks for the Kansas City Chiefs, filled with record-setting performances, high-scoring losses and the emergence of first-year starter Patrick Mahomes as one of the brightest young quarterbacks in the NFL.It's also been an exhausting 11 weeks. And a pause is coming at a good time. The Chiefs headed home from Los Angeles on Monday night still feeling the sting of a 54-51 loss to the Rams in what was arguably the most entertaining regular-season game in years. They headed right into their bye week with an opportunity to refocus and get healthy for the stretch run.One that Mahomes and Co. still think will involve a deep playoff run."It's kind of like a reset," Mahomes said, "get your body right and come back with that mentality that we're going to win and we can still get home-field advantage, hopefully."Indeed, the Chiefs (9-2) aren't in much worse shape regarding the playoffs after the weekend than they were before it. The Chargers, their closest pursuers in the division http://www.authenticslosangelesrams.com/cheap-lamarcus-joyner-jersey , lost to the Broncos, while the Patriots were unable to make up much ground on the No. 1 seed because they were on a bye. After the week off, the Chiefs have two of their final five games against the moribund Raiders, two others are at home against the Ravens and Chargers, and a trip to Seattle rounds out things. In other words, the Chiefs believe they're well-positioned heading into December."We're going to heal up here and get ourselves ready to go," Chiefs coach Andy Reid said.Wide receiver Sammy Watkins will no doubt use the week off to rest his ailing foot, which kept him out of practice last week and limited him to a couple early snaps against the Rams. Mitch Morse could be back at center after dealing with a concussion for several weeks, and a series of more minor injuries have affected nearly everybody on the roster. But the big question mark, at least in terms of health, revolved around Eric Berry. The Chiefs' highly paid star safety, who missed most of last season with a torn Achilles tendon http://www.authenticslosangelesrams.com/cheap-johnny-hekker-jersey , returned to the practice field over the summer and appeared ready for the year. But his heel began to bother him early in training camp, and even though Reid has insisted that Berry is "day to day," the injury has turned out to be more "month to month."The five-time Pro Bowl pick still hasn't been on the practice field, even though he was never put on injured reserve, and time is running out if Berry is going to play at all this season."If he feels comfortable and the docs are good with it and he's good with it, then we'll start easing him in," Reid said, when asked whether that could happen after the bye.The Chiefs certainly could have used their hard-hitting safety on Monday night.Jared Goff threw for 413 yards and four touchdowns without an interception, and the Rams piled up more than 450 yards in a game that came down to the wire. Most importantly, the Chiefs couldn't make a stop after taking the lead in the fourth quarter, allowing the Rams a go-ahead answer."I think we showed a lot of heart," Chiefs linebacker Justin Houston said. "We took several punches. Everybody's got a game plan until you get hit in the mouth. We got hit in the mouth several times http://www.authenticslosangelesrams.com/cheap-rodger-saffold-jersey , but for us to keep fighting as a whole, I think that shows what kind of team we are."Or what kind of team the Chiefs can ultimately become. Both of their losses have come on the road against teams that figure to be in the playoffs; they also lost a shootout in New England, when Tom Brady rallied the Patriots to a go-ahead field goal in the final seconds. And in both cases, the Chiefs would have walked away victors had their defense been able to make one more stop when it counted. So along with getting healthy during their bye week, the Chiefs will no doubt look at tweaking their defense, trying to figure out on the fly how they can improve down the stretch.Health is a good place start. But the Chiefs think there are other issues to iron out."We all look at it that way," Reid insisted, "every guy on this team will do that. That's the way these guys are wired and that's what's going to make us a great football team down the stretch."Yes, even the Chiefs' record-setting offense can smooth over some things. The Chiefs remain one of the NFL's most-penalized teams, and many of those flags have come on offense. Mahomes also threw three picks and lost two fumbles against the Rams, though that may have been an aberration 鈥?he's been good at protecting the ball all season. There's work to be done. And the Chiefs finally have a week off to do it.
operator MGM Resorts International circled MetLife Stadium several times a few hours before the team's game against the Buffalo Bills. The banner trailing the plane Sunday read: "SHAME ON JETS/MGM #ENDGUNVIOLENCE #STOPMGM."The Jets and Las Vegas-based MGM announced two weeks ago they agreed on a multiyear deal that is the first of its kind in the NFL. MGM Resorts is now the official gaming partner of the Jets. The agreement is the most comprehensive and integrated gaming partnership in the league Bills Vladimir Ducasse Jersey , and the first to go beyond a casino sponsorship."We wholeheartedly agree that our country needs to put an end to gun violence," MGM Resorts International said in a statement to The Associated Press. The Jets had no comment on the banner. In July, MGM sued more than 1,900 victims of the deadliest mass shooting in modern U.S. history in a bid not for money, but to avoid liability for the gunfire that rained down from a lone gunman at its Mandalay Bay casino-resort in October 2017.Early last month, a panel of federal judges denied a request from MGM to centralize 13 lawsuits stemming from the shooting. MGM had asked to centralize the cases after it filed nine lawsuits in various states against the over 1 Authentic Stephen Hauschka Jersey ,900 victims, but said it respected the ruling by the Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation and would litigate its motions in the courts where the actions were pending.MGM said at the time that its lawsuits are to avoid years of costly litigation and were focused only on people who have sued the company and voluntarily dismissed their claims or have threatened to sue.Late last month, MGM and the plaintiff's attorneys agreed to stay all pending litigation and entered into mediation. All litigation was suspended while the sides attempt to mediate a settlement."Our goal has always been to resolve these matters fairly and promptly, and we and the plaintiffs have asked the courts to suspend all litigation so we can enter into mediation and attempt to reach a resolution," MGM said in a statement to the AP. "We hope for a positive outcome so all of those impacted can look forward to the future and continue in their healing."A few New York-area politicians had recently slammed the Jets' partnership on social media, citing the initial lawsuit by MGM.New York State Sen. Kevin Parker from Brooklyn wrote on Twitter: "I strongly disagree with @nyjets partnering with @MGMResortsIntl. The @MGMResortsIntl decision to sue the victims of the Mandalay Bay Shooting in Las Vegas is a complete disgrace! The @nyjets SHOULD NOT move forward #STOPMGM."Added N.Y. State Sen. Luis Sepulveda from the Bronx: "Shame on the @nyjets for partnering with @MGMResortsIntl who decided to sue the victims of the Mandalay Bay Shooting in Las Vegas. I urge folks to boycott the team until they end the partnership. #StopMGM." Nathan Peterman became a national punchline as the quarterback in Buffalo because of his poor performance filled with interceptions and other numerous bad plays. So when the Oakland Raiders signed Peterman to the practice squad this week Bills Ryan Groy Jersey , coach Jon Gruden got quite a few calls asking about it and he saw criticism of the move that he tried to deflect Thursday."He's on the practice squad right now," Gruden said. "I want to reiterate that to everybody. He's on the practice squad."The Raiders brought Peterman in this week because backup AJ McCarron went back to Alabama to be with his wife, who gave birth to a child. Oakland needed a second quarterback for practice and Gruden knew Peterman from his time in college at Tennessee and Pittsburgh and from Gruden's pre-draft quarterback camp during his time as an analyst at ESPN.While Peterman is only on the practice squad for now, Gruden said he'd like to keep Peterman for the offseason program to see if he can compete for a backup spot next year."I know what kind of kid he is," Gruden said. "I know what kind of worker he is. I like what he did at Pitt. They beat Clemson. I like what he did in that game, at Clemson. He showed some real savvy and some real pocket presence. He's an athletic guy. I know he's had some problems in Buffalo but we're talking about our practice squad quarterback here."Peterman's problems in Buffalo were big after he was drafted in the fifth round in 2017. He ended up getting cut last month before the end of his second season. He feels fortunate to have a second chance."It's awesome Bills Jason Croom Jersey ," he said. "It's great to be here and there are some things in the offense that are smiler to things I have done in the past. ... Gruden is obviously a master at what he does. I am just here to watch, learn and do whatever they need."Peterman struggled mightily with the Bills. He began his rookie season as Tyrod Taylor's backup before getting his shot to start midway through the season. He threw five interceptions in the first half, while completing just 6 of 14 passes before getting pulled for Taylor.Peterman then won the starting job for the Bills this season, beating out rookie Josh Allen. But his tenure lasted just two series into the third quarter of the opener when he was pulled for Allen after going 5 for 18 for 24 yards with two interceptions in a 47-3 loss.Things unraveled further when Peterman took over after Allen was hurt in the third quarter of a 20-13 loss at Houston on Oct. 14. After hitting Zay Jones for a go-ahead touchdown, Peterman closed the game by throwing two interceptions, including one returned for the decisive score in the final two minutes. He then threw three more interceptions in his final start against Chicago on Nov. 4 before getting cut.For his career Cheap Kyle Williams Jersey , Peterman has completed 52.3 percent of his passes with 12 interceptions, three TDs and a 32.5 passer rating. Only two players since the merger have thrown more passes than Peterman's 130 with a lower rating. Scott Bull had a 24.8 rating for San Francisco and Kim McQuilken had a 17.9 rating for Atlanta and Washington, both in the 1970s."I don't watch or read anything, so I don't see what people are saying about me," Peterman said. "One thing you learn pretty quick is to tune out the outside noise."NOTES: Gruden said he's more optimistic that LG Kelechi Osemele can play this week after missing the past two games with a toe injury. ... Gruden said he doesn't expect RT Donald Penn to be able to return from a groin injury that has had him on IR since he got hurt in Week 4. Penn has been practicing the past few weeks.
the New England Patriots http://www.greenbaypackersteamonline.com/blake-martinez-jersey , but the defeat didn’t leave much of an impact in SB Nation’s weekly NFL power rankings. The latest edition has Green Bay once again in the middle of the pack, marooned at No. 15 for the second straight week.”You can’t fault the Packers too much for losing to the Patriots,” power rankings curator Rebecca Toback explained, adding, “but New England was far superior and Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay offense are not clicking.”The rest of the NFC North saw little change as well. The Chicago Bears stayed at No. 8 while the Minnesota Vikings moved up two spots to No. 11. The Detroit Lions remain in the back Womens Tramon Williams Jersey , sliding down one spot to No. 21.Elsewhere on the internet, a similar narrative formed around the Packers. Yahoo Sports dropped them one spot to No. 12 while ESPN placed them 13th. USA Today. Meanwhile, NFL.com and USA Today each slotted Green Bay in at No. 15.Packers Training Camp 2018: July 30 practice news, updates, & discussion After three straight days of practice to open their 2018 training camp Womens Jimmy Graham Jersey , the Green Bay Packers got a day off from on-field work on Sunday to rest and recuperate. Packers-Raiders Fantasy Reaction: Defense moving up Green Bay Packers T-Shirt , MVS slows down In a late-Friday night preseason game, the Packers took on the Oakland Raiders and former fan-favorite, Jordy Nelson. He was quiet, ding upwards for fantasy purposes. Some of these players won’t be worth the draft pick in redraft leagues, but if you’re taking part in your first dynasty league or looking to add some free agents, there’s some value in these players. Trending UpGeronimo Allison, WRGeronimo only recorded two catches during the first half of play, but turned them into 40 yards. Allison has been relatively quiet with plenty of attention being paid to the three rookie wide receivers and preseason darling Jake Kumerow, but on Friday night, Allison reminded people he should be the WR3 — if not for his veteran standing, then for his crisp routes. He should also have the trust of Aaron Rodgers to be in the right place at the right time. Allison’s ADP is currently hovering around the late 13th round.Packers DefenseWHAT?! You’re darn right. The Packers defense has looked spotty at times this preseason, but during the first half of the Raiders game—where a lot of starters played—they looked good! Reggie Gilbert continues to be a menace in the backfield. Josh Jackson continues to display his uncanny ability to force turnovers and Jaire Alexander got his first pick of the preseason. Depth doesn’t appear to be too strong, but they’re heading in the right direction.J’Mon Moore Green Bay Packers Hats , WRIt looks like that time spent in front of the jugs machine is starting to pay off. He brought in four catches for 62 yards and looked a lot more polished in running his routes, even managing to hang on to a ball where he got crunched by a safety in the fourth. The play subsequently drew a “defenseless receiver” penalty. Eight targets went Moore’s way, so it was evident that both Hundley and Kizer were gaining trust in the rookie as the game progressed.Trending DownTy Montgomery, RBI keep knocking Montgomery after these preseason games, but this time I have a legitimate reason. He injured his foot during the first quarter after getting the start. He finished with four carries for 12 yards. No other running back did much better as the offensive line played like they had never learned to run block before.Marquez Valdes-Scantling, WRI’m still fairly excited about MVS, but he hasn’t continued to trend upwards in the preseason games. Posting one catch for 15 yards against the Titans and zero catches on three targets against the Raiders is less than ideal when you couple that with a special teams fumble on Friday night. Luckily, it sounds like MVS is still putting together really good practices during the week. Bashaud Breeland should be a Carolina Panther. Back in March, the Panthers signed the ex-Washington cornerback to a three-year $24 million deal, the kind of contract that suggests he was considered a high-level starter. A bizarre situation involving a nasty cut and infection in his foot kept that deal from going through, while keeping Breeland on the unemployment line until late September. Brian Gutekunst made a splash back in March in inking Jimmy Graham, Muhammad Wilkerson and Tramon Williams, a stark departure from his predecessor in terms of handling free agency. And while Gutekunst’s first-round draft pick looks like a future star and both Graham and Williams have been solid this season, Green Bay’s new GM may just have made the move of his offseason when he signed Breeland off the street for the veteran minimum on September 26th. An injury to Davon House forced the team’s hand Green Bay Packers Womens Hoodie , with scant veteran experience in the back end behind Tramon Williams. Mike Pettine and Joe Whitt stared at a depth chart with two top rookie draft picks, but rookies nonetheless, and an undrafted rookie free agent after second-year pro Kevin King. Plus, King hadn’t even played an entire rookie season dealing with an injury and was once again unable to stay healthy. Enter Breeland. He remained on the periphery early in his tenure, battling an injury of his own. The Packers surprised some fans when Breeland wasn’t active following the team’s bye, but when he did finally make his debut, it was as the starting outside cornerback and kick returner. Not only was he going to play, he was going to start and be trusted to play against Tom Brady. It went about as one might expect; he played rusty, grabbing too often and being a step slow at times to diagnose and react to plays. But his mere presence boosted a thin, but talented secondary. If Breeland, a quality man cover corner, hadn’t been available to the Packers, they likely couldn’t have made the Ha Ha Clinton-Dix trade with no one on deck to replace the now-departed free safety. Tramon Williams can now slide back there because the Packers feel good about a secondary with Breeland and rookie Jaire Alexander manning the fort even with Kevin King out yet again. Despite a rough start against the Patriots, Breeland shined against the Dolphins as a returner and a cover man Womens Customized Green Bay Packers Jerseys , picking off Brock Osweiler for a momentum-swinging turnover in the second half. The 26-year-old boasts the kind of size/strength/toughness the Packers want out of their corners and while his ball skills have readily been a question, he has already earned the trust of coaches at 1265 Lombardi. There’s an old scouting adage that suggests cornerbacks and receivers who return kicks should be treated as more reliable catching the ball simply because their coaches already trust them to do it. Don’t expect Breeland to keep that role full-time with Trevor Davis set to be active for the first time this week, but his mere presence suggests the Packers like him with the ball and trust him to secure it. He must have some level of ball skills to be handed such a role right from the jump. But that also shouldn’t be a surprise. After all, he was supposed to be getting quality starter money from the Panthers. This is a very good player who is still young and can keep getting better. As he learns this system and gets comfortable with the players, his addition could end up being more impactful than any of the moves made at the trade deadline. He was in initially because he had to play. Breeland may stay on the field because he’s earned that playing time. Josh Jackson clearly isn’t ready to be an every down man corner, as evidence by his struggles against the Dolphins on Sunday. Remember, this is a player with just one year of starting collegiate experience, albeit an outstanding campaign where he led the country in interceptions. But Iowa played almost exclusively zone coverage principles and Jackson struggled in college to tackle consistently, something still plaguing him in the NFL. Breeland’s ability to play the boundary and in the slot, where Jackson appears particularly ill-suited, adds flexibility to this secondary that relies on adaptability and malleability in Pettine’s system. Looking forward, it could be the reason to move Jackson to safety, a move that NBC’s Chis Collinsworth suggested the team had already been considering during the Patriots telecast last week. With Breeland and King on the boundary and Alexander in the slot, the Packers would have a killer top three group with Jackson in the back end with Josh Jones or a potential free agent acquisition (2019 free agent Landon Collins recently lauded Aaron Rodgers in an interview with Bleacher Report). Even before the acquisition of Breeland www.packerscheapstore.com , the potential move to safety for Jackson ought to have been considered considering his strengths as a ball hawk, reading the quarterback. For now though, Jackson remains a cornerback if for no other reason than the Packers need him and Tramon Williams seems perfectly suited to fill that role in the short term. If we assume Williams remains in that role beyond this season, that does tick one quality player off the cornerback depth chart, opening the door for the Packers to feel compelled to keep Breeland. These are big picture questions the Packers will have to ask themselves moving forward. For this season though, they’ve clearly found a player who has the type of skill and ability to be an impact starter at a critical position in any defense. Nothing will top Gutekunst swindling the Saints out of a first-round pick and still winding up with potentially the best cover corner in the draft. That’s the move of a career for plenty of GMs. But just having someone they trust to let King return to full health would make Breeland’s veteran minimum contract worth it. But getting the chance to make an impact, make this defense better, and potentially set them up well for the long-term, makes this play a home run for the Packers.
Recapping Josh Allen’s first career comeback win for Buffalo Bills when Stephen Hauschka booted a 46-yard field goal as time expired to lift Buffalo (2-3) to a 13-12 win over the Tennessee Titans (3-2). In the latest edition of Billieve: A Buffalo Bills Fans Podcast Cheap Tremaine Edmunds Jersey , host John Boccacino is joined by co-host Anthony Marino to break down the win as Buffalo earned its second victory of the year over a playoff participant from 2017. Among the topics covered in our podcast: the triumphant return of Buffalo’s ground and pound attack, as the Bills turned back to LeSean McCoy (24 carries for 85 yards) and Chris Ivory (14 carries for 43 yards). Buffalo controlled the clock (nearly 34 minutes of possession) and didn’t ask Josh Allen to do to much. Allen, who directed his first career come-from-behind victory, completed 10 of 19 passes for82 yards with one interception and an impressive 14-yard touchdown run on Buffalo’s first possession. The Bills did more to make Allen feel comfortable vs. Tennessee, moving him outside of the pocket for more rollout throws where Allen could either look for his intended target or throw the ball away if there isn’t a throw to be made. Moving Allen outside the pocket made a big difference Authentic Marcus Murphy Jersey , letting him see the field better. It also allowed offensive coordinator Brian Daboll to mask Buffalo’s suspect offensive line by not allowing the Titans’ pass rushers to bull their way up the middle and make Allen feel uncomfortable in the pocket. Among the other topics discussed: the emergence of a few unsung heroes on defense (especially Dean Marlowe and Jordan Phillips); the wealth of talent Buffalo can roll out on the defensive line; the continued excellent play of linebackers Matt Milano, Tremaine Edmunds, and Lorenzo Alexander; and the emergence of rookie Taron Johnson, who picked off his first career pass and is proving to be a steal as a fourth-round draft pick. That gave the Titans their first lead, but it was short-lived as McCoy and Chris Ivory combined to eat clock and yardage against a Titans defense that couldn’t stop what they knew was coming.McCoy ran 24 times for 85 yards and caught two passes for 23 yards in his busiest and most productive day of the year. Josh Allen scored the only Bills touchdown on a 14-yard run in the first quarter and completed 10-of-19 passes for 82 yards and an interception. That interception came when Adoree Jackson knocked a pass away from Andre Holmes and plucked it out of the air on its way down. Succop’s fourth field goal came a short time later when the drive stalled on a Jerry Hughes sack. Hughes had a chance for a second sack before an earlier field goal, but let Marcus Mariota go after wrapping him up in what may have been an attempt to avoid a roughing the passer penalty. That was the second sack Mariota took on a third down in Sunday’s game and those miscues will go alongside three turnovers and five penalties as issues that contributed to the losing effort.聽Those errors would have been relegated unhappy footnotes had Mariota been able to pilot one touchdown drive, but the Bills defense didn’t yield much even while their own offense was scuffling for much of the afternoon. The one time they did White Jordan Mills Jersey , wide receiver Nick Williams dropped a pass that would have been worth six points. That pretty well sums up what kind of day it was for the Titans, who will try to bounce back against the Ravens. The Bills will try to even their record in Houston.
As the Colts ride a 3 game winning streak www.thecoltsfootballauthentic.com , they are slowly beginning to change perceptions about them around the league. he league with just one win, and they are operating on pretty thin margins from here on out, but they have been consistently doing some things really well that have led to their success. The ability of the offensive line to protect Andrew Luck has been a big key to their success, and has now effectively done so against to very good defenses in the Bills and Jaguars. With a great pass protection plan in front of him, I’d take Andrew Luck over any quarterback in the NFL and we will get to see over the coming weeks whether that translates to extending this winning streak and making a run at the division. For now, let’s take a look at how the Colts are stacking up in the eyes of national news outlets.ESPN has the Colts ranked 20th, up from 23rd last week.It is also the number of weeks Andrew Luck has gone without being sacked.Yahoo! Sports has the Colts ranked 18th up from 22nd. USA Today has the Colts ranked 21st up from 27th. Bleacher Report has the Colts ranked 19th up from 25th. I think you’d have to qualify it with even more surprise when the Colts waived their undrafted free agent preseason stud, Skai Moore just last week. The good news, is that each of them made it through waivers, and there’s not really any bad news to this if we’re being perfectly honest. Moore may not be exactly what the Colts figured he might be that early on Indianapolis Colts T-Shirt , but he certainly adds speed and coverage ability to the team’s young linebacker corps. He did, after all, start a game and spend three weeks of the season on the team’s active roster. It’s hard to tell whether he may get back to active status, but the Colts certainly understand that he has some very real NFL potential. As far as Swoope goes, it appears after being a project for a few years, and looking as if he was making real strides in 2016, his leash has gotten significantly shorter in terms of staying on this roster. However, with the obviously limited abilities of Mo-Allie Cox, Swoope could easily be back on the active roster sooner rather than later. The Colts also released an ‘if we had a practice, these guys would have missed it’ injury report on Monday. This list is not getting any shorter it seems folks. With a short week to get prepared for the New England Patriots on Thursday night, the Colts were missing A LOT of important players. Jack Doyle is still out right now Indianapolis Colts Hats , T.Y. Hilton is suffering from a couple injuries he sustained Sunday, Nate Hairston, Darius Leonard and Hassan Ridgeway are out right now as well with injuries. Quincy Wilson and Kenny Moore are in concussion protocol as well which isn’t good for the Colts secondary for Week 5. The Colts really lost an edge when Moore exited the game Sunday, and there is reportedly some strange circumstances surrounding Wilson’s designation per Zak Keefer. On the positive side of things, Anthony Castonzo and Marlon Mack were both limited, as was Clayton Geathers. Eric Ebron, Malik Hooker, Anthony Walker and Adam Vinatieri also made it on Monday’s report, but were all full participants. The Colts could certainly use a healthy week of practice, and could also stand to get several of these names back as full participants as they sit at 1-3 and have to battle a major road test in Foxboro in just two days.
Chiefs’ Thursday injury report vs. Jaguars: Womens Eric Murray Jersey , the Kansas City Chiefs will release an official injury report leading up to the next game. The Chiefs host the Jacksonville Jaguars Sunday at Arrowhead Stadium. Here is the Chiefs’ second official injury report of the week:JaguarsSome notesDee Ford (groin) and Sammy Watkins (hamstring) both left Monday night’s game against the Denver Broncos early, but they have on the field this week. My early feel is that both will be questionable for Sunday, but that remains to be seen on Friday afternoon. It has now been 54 days since safety Eric Berry practiced or played. The Jaguars have already ruled out two players, running back Leonard Fournette and cornerback DJ Hayden, for Sunday. Any Jaguar dealing with any kind of ailment had a limited workout on Thursday. Practice squad note: According to the official NFL transactions report Womens Kendall Fuller Jersey , the Chiefs terminated the contract of safety Leon McQuay and signed Western Kentucky TE Deon Yelder to their practice squad. Yelder was a 2018 undrafted free agent who originally signed with the New Orleans Saints.Bob Sutton on new tackling rule: “I wouldn’t want to officiate this” Bob Sutton doesn’t know what to do.For some Chiefs fans, that’s a statement about the Kansas City Chiefs defensive coordinator that’s true every single day.But in this case, Sutton is referring specifically to the new rule that was enforced on Chiefs linebacker Tanoh Kpassagnon on Saturday during the Chiefs 27-20 preseason loss to the Chicago Bears. You know. This one.Speaking to the media on Monday, Sutton said he’s just not sure what to tell his players if that’s the way the new rule regarding a defensive player putting all of his weight on the quarterback is going to be called.“The one they called on TK — and I wouldn’t want to officiate this; I’m just being honest, this is a hard play to officiate — it’s very difficult to tell TK to do something different in that situation http://www.thechiefsfootballauthentic.com/mitchell-schwartz-jersey-authentic ,” he said. “This isn’t like the one where you pick the quarterback up and slam him into the ground. You had a choice on that. You could just take him to the ground, or pick him up and slam him. So they said, ‘OK, don’t slam him. That’s a penalty.’ This one is really hard. I don’t know exactly how to tell him to take his weight off the guy from the position he was coming in that situation.”Whether you like Sutton or not, it’s hard to disagree with his point of view here.Is this going to be the new standard?A sack that just about anyone would previously have called a textbook defensive play now results in 15 yards and a first down for the offense?Sutton reminded reporters that during training camp http://www.thechiefsfootballauthentic.com/ron-parker-jersey-authentic , he was more worried about this new rule than he was about the new helmet rule that has had so much press attention so far.“I’m not really sure how it’s going to play out. When we had the officials in, I asked, ‘Did anybody think about trying to tackle Ben Roethlisberger?’ It’s hard enough to get him down with all of your weight. But to say, ‘I’m going to slide off to the side and not do it,’ is really hard. I just think it’s a hard rule. I think it’s hard on the officials. I really do. I think we all know what the intent is. We’re not looking to slam this guy in the dirt Womens Terrance Smith Jersey , but there are some times that I just don’t know what you can do from a physical standpoint to change that — without just stopping completely.”Even if you think — as some Chiefs fans do — that Sutton is a doddering old fool who should be shown the door, you’ll probably be right here with him on this one. It’s one thing to have a new rule that promotes player safety. But it’s quite another to have one whose application is going to be almost impossible to predict, and it will almost certainly drastically change the way pass rushers can play the game.
uston will be inactive for the Kansas City Chiefs today against the Cleveland Browns. This is not unexpected.Houston was listed as questionable on the week’s final injury report Cheap Travis Kelce Jersey , which was issued on Friday,Houston did practice on both Thursday and Friday, but was limited due to his hamstring injury.Anthony Hitchens — who suffered a painful rib contusion against the Broncos — was also listed as questionable on Friday. He was also limited in practice on both Thursday and Friday, but does not appear on the inactives list for today’s game.Frank Zombo — also injured against Denver — is listed as inactive today. Here’s the complete list of the Chiefs inactives for the game.Except for Hitchens seeing the field today, this is about what we would have expected.Mitch Morse is still in concussion protocol, Eric Berry was listed as doubtful for the game, and Darrel Williams, Kahlil McKenzie and Justin Hamilton have been healthy scratches in recent weeks.Chiefs vs. 49ers: How the Chiefs defense beats San Francisco It’s Saturday at Arrowhead Pride, so you know what that means: we’re leaving the Pittsburgh Steelers in the past and moving on to the Kansas City Chiefs’ matchup against the San Francisco 49ers in Week 3!This week, the Chiefs get to line up against a very innovative and dynamic offense that may not be as strong in the talent department as the previous two opponents, but they’re definitely capable of hanging points on any opponent due to their scheme and speed. This week, like every week, I’ll be heading down to the Laboratory to take a look at what the opposition’s offense looks like, some matchups and tendencies that they like to exploit and what the Chiefs defense can do to try to stop them this Sunday. The 49ers offenseSergio Estrada-USA TODAY SportsA blockbuster trade brought quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo to San Francisco last year, and the 49ers paid him handsomely this offseason. Garoppolo is an accurate quarterback with a quick release that has grasped head coach Kyle Shanahan’s offense well, putting up good numbers at the tail end of last year. While he hasn’t started with quite the same output this year, he’s very capable of putting up points and yards in a hurry against good defenses. After losing running back Jerick McKinnon to a torn ACL, the 49ers have relied on veteran Alfred Morris and second-year back (NFL rushing leader after Week 2) Matt Breida to lead the way. Morris offers a more “grinding” style of running, especially between the tackles, while Breida has been a change of pace back and pass catcher thus far this season. Breida, in particular, was able to find success last week against the Detroit Lions, showcasing his speed. Fullback Kyle Juszczyk is one of the bigger weapons on this offense, atypical of your normal fullback. He’s a rangy, athletic player that can be a matchup nightmare by offering the 49ers some personnel flexibility in their run and passing game.At wide receiver, San Francisco is led by speedster Marquise Goodwin and route runner Pierre Garcon on the outside. Rookie Dante Pettis has showcased some big-play ability this year as well, averaging 32 yards per reception thus far in the 2018 season. All three players have the capability to break a game open and run away from the secondary when defenses are forced into bigger personnel. At tight end, the 49ers have a steady presence in Garrett Celek, a good blocker and pass catcher, but arguably the most dynamic weapon on the offense is second-year player George Kittle. We’ll address Kittle below, but the offense does a good job getting him into space where he can use his speed and athleticism to rack up major yardage against linebackers and safeties. The San Francisco offensive line is still trying to gel this season after adding rookie right tackle Mike McGlinchey opposite stalwart left tackle Joe Staley. The interior of Weston Richburgh, Laken Tomlinson, and Mike Person is a decent group http://www.chiefscheapshoponline.com/cheap-authentic-harrison-butker-jersey , but definitely a better matchup for the Chiefs than the previous two week’s interior OL.How to defend21 personnelThe 49ers love to trot out a running back, a fullback, a tight end, and two wide receivers in their offense, and the play above shows why. They’re able to utilize Juszczyk as an H-back in a counter run here with a jet sweep attached. Juszczyk is able to get well out in front of the play, springing Breida for a huge play on the first play of the game.Conversely, the 49ers are able to motion Juszczyk out of the backfield and force a good coverage linebacker completely out of the box. When the sweep is faked and the San Francisco offensive line blocks down, the linebackers flow to the running back, leaving Kittle wide open on the slant. A better throw springs this for a big gain, and it’s set up by having a FB that can split out wide and command a quality coverage defender, leaving your “run-first” linebackers stressed in their underneath coverage. Finally, the 49ers like to take advantage of bigger personnel on the field to stress the safeties and get open looks in the secondary. By lining up in 21 personnel, the defense is in their base personnel with a safety in the box opposite the tight end. This leaves three members of the secondary in coverage to the field, and San Francisco takes advantage of it.The outside receiver runs a 9-route, clearing out the boundary corner. The slot receiver shows a post route, and the single high safety has to carry that post route in his Cover 1 responsibilities. However, after the safety commits, the slot receiver cuts back and runs an out route. With the cornerback in trail coverage, there are all kinds of space for Garoppolo to make the throw. With the Chiefs likely shifting into their base 3-4 defense against 21 personnel, we’re likely to see lots of linebackers Reggie Ragland, Dee Ford, and Justin Houston in coverage to help try to stifle the 49ers passing attack. It’s not the ideal option from a pass rush standpoint, but that extra defender in coverage could help keep the San Francisco tight end, fullback, and running back in check, forcing third-and-longs.George KittleKittle is the engine that makes this offense tick. A Travis Kelce-esque tight end, Kittle is a poor matchup for almost anyone tasked with covering him. On top of that, the 49ers do an excellent job getting him into space through motion and drags across the backside of the offensive line post-snap.As shown above, Kittle motions across the formation opposite the running back. The 49ers run a play action pass and leave the backside blitzer unblocked. Kittle comes across the formation and underneath the blitzer. The run action has sucked linebacker Eric Kendricks inside and Kittle is now wide open in the flat with room to run. This time, out of a two tight end set, Kittle once again comes across the backside of the formation opposite of the run action. Everyone on the Vikings front seven bites on the fake and Kittle’s into the secondary with nobody remotely close to him. The Vikings have an exceedingly good defense that plays sound football, and they let Kittle find acres of space against them in Week 1.Due to Kittle being used for wham and slice blocks in the run game, defenders will try to beat him to the gap to wreck the play when he’s moving against the flow of the blockers. Shanahan uses this to his advantage http://www.chiefscheapshoponline.com/cheap-authentic-eric-murray-jersey , springing Kittle in the flat. The Chiefs linebackers and safeties are going to have to keep track of Kittle at all times this week, a tough task for any defense, let alone one that has been gashed by passes to the flats in the first two weeks of the season.Exotic pass rushesWhile San Francisco’s offense (and Garoppolo, in particular), does a good job getting the ball out quickly, Garoppolo will panic with some of the more exotic pass rushes. The Vikings defense brought a few overload blitzes at Garoppolo, especially at McGlinchey. The one shown above was the most costly of the game. The Vikings bring the edge rusher, off-ball linebacker, and the slot defender at the right side of the 49ers line. Garoppolo doesn’t see it coming and shift protection, and McGlinchey is left high and dry, trying to block three defenders. Garoppolo panics and rushes the throw off his back foot, straight to the cornerback who walks in for an easy pick-six.The defense doesn’t have to send extra rushers to disrupt the San Francisco passing game. On this play, the Lions show a five-man rush, and the weak-side linebacker drops off to cover the running back. The strong-side linebacker engages the right guard and appears to drop into coverage. The right guard turns to find work and help the right tackle, and the linebacker shoots the B-gap, unblocked for a sack.Simply by showing on tape a willingness to rush 3 (something the Chiefs have done with much frequency this year), the opposition was able to employ this tactic to bring an exotic rush by playing on their prior tendencies. Coupled with some overload blitzes, the Chiefs could employ an extra element outside of their normal rush tendencies this year to get home against an inferior line from the first two weeks. The bottom lineThe 49ers are a fast, dynamic team that exploits bigger defensive personnel well. That doesn’t bode well for the Chiefs, as the Chiefs linebackers and safeties have struggled in coverage thus far in 2018.However, the talent level on the offensive side of the ball is a little lower than the stacked offenses the Chiefs defense has seen in recent weeks.Shanahan is a fantastic offensive play-caller, though, and he’ll find a way to scheme guys open, especially if the Chiefs lean on their zone defense again this week. The 49ers can go up-tempo and force poor matchups with their personnel, and keep them on the field. That said, if Bob Sutton and the Chiefs defense can keep their superior man defense on the field and bring some twists, stunts and delayed rushes, I truly believe that they can find success in rushing the passer and throwing Garoppolo off his game.If the Chiefs play passive again this week, though, Shanahan and the 49ers offense will find the gaps and exploit the defense to the tune of big yardage and many points.Let’s hope we get a little more of the Week 1 scheme from Sutton and some better execution in the first home game of the year to keep Arrowhead loud and crazy all the way through the fourth quarter.
more defensive players Youth T.Y. Hilton Jersey , including an impact player on the defensive line. The Colts announced this afternoon that defensive end/tackle Margus Hunt — along with cornerback Arthur Maulet — will not play in Sunday’s Week 6 matchup against the New York Jets. With Hunt and Maulet out for Sunday’s game in New York, the Colts now have seven players ruled out against the Jets: Denico Autry, Jack Doyle, Matthias Farley, Clayton Geathers, wide receiver T.Y. Hilton and Denzelle Good. Hunt — who has been one of the best defenders this season for the Colts — aggravated his knee against the New England Patriots, but ultimately returned to the game despite a concern he could make it worse. Hunt found himself on the sidelines watching practice on Wednesday and Thursday White Skai Moore Jersey , but was a limited participant in Friday’s practice. Heading into Saturday, Hunt had the questionable label for the game. In regards to the potential news on Hunt, the Colts elevated defensive end Al-Quadin Muhammad to the active roster and waived rookie linebacker Skai Moore in preparation for Sunday’s game. Hunt leads the league in tackles for loss, tallying 9.0 through five games. Hunt is also tied for fifth in the AFC in sacks with four. The Buffalo Bills are completely shell-shocked Authentic Josh Allen Jersey , trailing the Chicago Bears 28-0 after two quarters of football. and the offense looks afraid to move the ball beyond the line of scrimmage as the first half comes to a close. The Bills have now been outscored 91-11 in the last ten quarters of the season. Even if you added up all of Buffalo’s points in the last 15 quarters, it wouldn’t be enough to take the lead in this game. Both teams traded punts in the scoreless first quarter, between solid defense and self-inflicted wounds. On Chicago’s opening drive, the Bills sacked Mitch Trubisky and forced a fumble on third down to take away the chance for a field goal. With Nate Peterman under center, the Bills found a first down with a quick pass to LeSean McCoy, but the drive sputtered shortly thereafter. Buffalo’s second drive was a three and out, as bad blocking left no room for McCoy to run.A the start of the second quarter, the Bills thought they had Chicago’s offense on the ropes, with a 3rd and 15 play outside of field goal range. But Trubisky found Trey Burton on a deep crossing route to extend the drive into the red zone. A few plays later, Jordan Howard punched the ball into the end zone from the one yard line. 7-0 Bears.A 26 yard crossing route to Jason Croom gave Buffalo a chance in Chicago territory on their next possession. But Aaron Lynch, unblocked, tackled McCoy for a loss, and Peterman couldn’t hook up with a receiver to salvage any points from their drive. The Bills forced a three-and-out from Chicago and started their next drive in Bears territory. For their best chance of the day, Peterman found Benjamin on a sail concept to put the team into field goal range. The Bills got one yard on two runs and were clearly aiming for a “don’t screw this up” field goal setup with a short third down pass, but Bears safety Eddie Jackson forced a fumble that the Bears returned all the way to the end zone to give Chicago a 14-0 lead.Buffalo started their next drive with a worthless direct snap to Terrelle Pryor. On the next snap, Peterman’s black magic continued dragging Buffalo’s snakebitten offense into the dirt. He hit Pryor on a dig route, but Pryor bobbled the ball. It blooped right into the hands of Adrian Amos, giving the Bears their second turnover of the day. On Buffalo’s next drive Womens Jason Croom Jersey , Peterman tried finding Zay Jones at the line of scrimmage, but Kyle Fuller legally bumped Jones to knock him off-balance, and the pass became a pick-six, Buffalo’s third turnover of the second quarter. The Bills punted deep in their own territory, and Tarik Cohen returned it on a winding, loopy run all the way to Buffalo’s 21 yard line. Chicago punched it in a few plays later with Jordan Howard finding his second touchdown of the day.The Bills aren’t necessarily lacking in attempts to fix their broken offense. Already, Jeremiah Sirles and Wyatt Teller have taken reps from Jordan Mills and Vlad Ducasse, respectively, on the offensive line. The new signing Pryor’s been worked into the game. The issue is just that their offense has no talent or skill.LeSean McCoy was replaced in the lineup by Marcus Murphy in the second quarter. It’s not clear if he has an injury or the coaches were just experimenting with reps.If you’re still watching in the second half, here’s our open thread. Root for something! The Buffalo Bills will host the Chicago Bears for the first time since November 7, 2010, a game the Bills lost 22-19 in what was a lost season. The game was Buffalo’s eighth-straight loss to begin that campaign, although it did represent a turning point—after playing a tough Chicago team well, the Bills finished the year 4-4 over the last 8 games, giving the team some hope for the 2011 season. This year, Buffalo and Chicago enter in similar situations to that November matchup 8 years ago. The Bills are 2-6, coming off 3 consecutive losses to conference foes, and the Bears are 4-3, exactly what their record was when the two teams met in 2010. It would appear that the scale are tipped heavily in Chicago’s favor, but as any team entering New Era Field as an opponent knows http://www.buffalobillsteamonline.com/jordan-mills-jersey , Buffalo’s rabid fanbase can make even the most seasoned veterans feel uncomfortable. While there are plenty of fantasy football matchups in Chicago’s favor this week, we have singled out a few that we think are the best bets for the game.RB Tarik CohenOver the last month, Cohen has averaged 20.6 fantasy points per game, an absolutely elite total. After beginning the year with lofty expectations and falling well short of them, Cohen has bounced back to solidify himself as one of the best fantasy running backs in the NFL. His skill-set is one that makes him a difficult mark for any team, and the Bills have struggled with his type this year—he is a dangerous receiver out of the backfield who is lethal with the ball in space. Matt Milano and Tremaine Edmunds will have their hands full between him and the next player on our list.TE Trey BurtonIn an up-and-down year for the athletic tight end, Burton has been solid, if unspectacular, in his first season in the Windy City. Burton has 27 catches on the year, totaling 343 yards and 4 touchdowns. If Buffalo’s defense has a weakness, it’s that the middle players are young and can sometimes be manipulated by creative play-action, run-pass option, and read-option looks. If the Bears can do what the Indianapolis Colts were able to do a few weeks ago, then the Bills’ defense could be in for a long afternoon.Bears D/STThe Bills might be starting Nathan Peterman against a unit that has 11 interceptions, 8 fumble recoveries, and 20 sacks on the year. That’s a recipe for a high-scoring output for any fantasy defense. Even if Derek Anderson clears concussion protocol and starts for the Bills, it’s not as if he has been good at protecting the football in his two starts this year. Play the Bears’ defense confidently this week.
thing that needs improvement This is part three of a three-part weekly film analysis on the performance of Patrick Mahomes.Part one here http://www.thechiefsfootballauthentic.com/dee-ford-jersey-authentic , part two here. There is noticeable improvement and reason to be optimistic every time we see Patrick Mahomes take the field. He’s both wowed us and given us hope for his ascension to the franchise quarterback this city has desperately craved. Sometimes, I forget how difficult a transition he is making from his time at Texas Tech to now. He was very raw, very green coming out and it still shows. From last week’s game, we have talking points about the same facet of the game, but on opposite ends of the spectrum. There are areas of improvement and areas that require improvement in Mahomes’ work from the pocket.Something improvedWe need to see this happen more often (more on that in a minute), but Mahomes is becoming more space efficient when he hangs in the pocket.Mahomes is gradually learning to work within tighter spaces. Where we’ve seen him literally run to space in college to work in a uniquely large and wide pocket and still fight that urge in the NFL, the clip above was a very encouraging sign. The potential for Mahomes to be lethal from the pocket is tremendous. He doesn’t need a ton of space to set up because of his arm talent and fearlessness to pull the trigger, so he has the potential to create big plays opportunities other quarterbacks can’t. Tom Brady is phenomenally efficient with his movement in the pocket. Everything is subtle, quick and he finds the best space he has to work with great consistency. In college, Mahomes’ pocket was large, wide and oddly structured, and it led to bad habits. It’s not remotely as big in the NFL, and the players coming to get him are bigger, faster and stronger. Efficiency of space is everything. The old saying, “aim small, miss small,” works here. He’s never needed to aim small. He could literally run up in his pockets in college. He can’t get with the extra half-step here or there now.His movements are starting to tighten up. He’s starting to aim small when he’s working within the pocket to find the best space. It’s just a matter of him getting enough live reps to understand when to leave, when to hang in the pocket, when step up http://www.thechiefsfootballauthentic.com/eric-fisher-jersey-authentic , when to back out. Speaking of which...Something that needs improvementIf only we can get him to stay in the pocket long enough to continue to develop his management of tight spaces. The decision making from play to play has been inconsistent. He hasn’t consistently made the right choice about when to hang in and give the design of the play a chance, when to ad lib or when to run for yards. It’s wildly inconsistent. In the clip above, he leaves a clean pocket too quickly, hangs in too long with an open receiver in front of his face and finally elects to run for a touchdown from a clean pocket. There doesn’t appear to be a consistent logic to it yet. Brady, for instance, on that last clip, would stay in the pocket to see if he can find someone on the back line of the end zone for as long as he can, only using his legs as a last resort. Mahomes saw the routes covered and decided to make a break for it immediately, even though he could’ve given his playmakers time to separate. He’s too early and too late in different instances. These clips appear to be the times that Mahomes is thinking the most on the field. All those clips were from the third quarter. He may have been feeling the pressure he’d faced all day. It could’ve been affecting him. That’ll be something to look for moving forward. There’s both good and bad happening in his navigation of the pocket. It’s just a matter of putting all the pieces together. It’ll take time, but there’s promise amidst the issues he’s dealing with. He can be exceptional from the pocket someday, but he’s got to smooth out the rough edges of his game in that regard.Chiefs beat Chargers: 9 winners and 7 losers The Kansas City Chiefs defeated the Los Angeles Chargers, 38-28, in their first game of the 2018 season on Sunday afternoon. Here are the game’s winners and losers:WinnersJake Roth-USA TODAY SportsIn a game that was supposed to be more about Patrick Mahomes than anything or anyone else, Tyreek Hill stole the whole damn show on Sunday. Hill returned the first punt of the Chiefs’ season 91 yards for a touchdown, then proceeded to score a 58-yard touchdown on his first reception of the game. Hill scored another 1-yard receiving touchdown late, totaling three touchdowns and 169 receiving yards on the day. Hill started out his career as strictly a special-teams guy, then developed into a reliable receiver and is now officially in the mix for one of the best receivers in the league. If Antonio Brown wasn’t paying attention before, he is now.Mahomes was a winner, too. Though it wasn’t a perfect game by any means Womens Harrison Butker Jersey , we saw flashes of the guy the Chiefs traded up 18 positions to go and get. Mahomes makes throws that very few, if any, other quarterbacks in the league can make, and we are now beginning to see them in the regular season. Mahomes finished 15 for 27 for 256 yards and four touchdowns. Two of those touchdowns were to Hill, one was to De’Anthony Thomas and another was to fullback Anthony Sherman, our third winner of this game. Matt Derrick of Chiefs Digest astutely pointed out that in Sherman’s first 107 games of his career, he recorded 408 receiving yards, 11 rushing yards and two touchdowns. His last two regular-season games? 57 receiving yards, 40 rushing yards and two touchdowns. It was a sausage party on Sunday.Dee FordJake Roth-USA TODAY SportsDee Ford, in the first game of his contract year, looked to have a little extra pep in his step Sunday (as he $hould). He seemed to get consistent pressure on Philip Rivers all game, and it paid off for him with the Chiefs’ only sack of the game. I think Ford will play just well enough this season to make fans second-guess what to do with him, but this is ultimately Ford’s Kansas City finale. Ron Parker played well in his return, picking up right where he left off in the Chiefs defense. The Chiefs sure needed him, as Eric Berry was indeed held out after being ruled doubtful for the game on Friday. Parker had one pick, and it could have been two had he not dropped the second one. Parker totaled two passes defensed and recorded eight total tackles by game’s end.In regular-season game one of his five-year contract, Anthony Hitchens looks like he was well worth the more than $21 million of guaranteed money. The Chiefs run defense was better, holding running back Melvin Gordon, one of the league’s absolute studs at the position http://www.thechiefsfootballauthentic.com/cameron-erving-jersey-authentic , to just 64 yards on 15 carries. The combined force of Andy Reid and Brett Veach put a winner on the field Sunday against a team that many, including those at Las Vegas sportsbooks, picked to win the AFC West division. It wasn’t all pretty, but the Chiefs are 1-0.Jake Roth-USA TODAY SportsAnd Chiefs Los Angeles, you outdid yourself. LosersJay Biggerstaff-USA TODAY SportsSometimes, it isn’t your day. And it wasn’t tight end Travis Kelce’s day on Sunday. Targeted six times, Kelce had just one catch for six yards, including one pass that was just knocked out of his hands.Similarly, Chiefs running back Kareem Hunt couldn’t really get it going Sunday, finishing with just 49 yards on 16 carries. It wasn’t a bad day, per se—just not a great start for the 2017 NFL rushing champion. He’ll look to rebound against the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Chiefs secondary did not look good. I counted at least three occasions in which the Chiefs were badly burned but the Chargers receivers just dropped the football. The Chiefs managed to put 38 points on Sunday, and had it not been for quality players making unusual mistakes, it may have been a game at the end.Gary A. Vasquez-USA TODAY SportsToward the final stretch of the game, it felt as if Rivers may have been singling out Orlando Scandrick, who, in particular, didn’t look especially sharp. He arrived to Kansas City, so he does deserve some time to sort it out, but not the start you’d want for the Chiefs nickel corner. The Chargers as a team have lost nine games in a row to the Kansas City Chiefs. I asked Rivers about needing to get over the Chiefs’ hump this week on a conference call Youth Xavier Williams Jersey , and Rivers told me that no year and no team is the same, but man, the way the Chargers lost Sunday, by shooting themselves in the foot on numerous occasions, felt awfully similar to recent years.Chargers fans. That was an embarrassing home crowd. Someone flew a plane around StubHub Center with the message, “ONLY TEAM WITH 16 AWAY GAMES” tailing it on Sunday. Through one game, it was true.Me. I got a few tweets after the game about my game prediction. Let’s pull it up.To update that last thought. Ahem...Chargers offense, good; Chargers defense, below average; Chiefs offense, potential to be scary good or perhaps even elite; Chiefs defense, worrisome. Through one game, I learned that Mahomes is more ready than I thought. But the secondary may be as bad as I thought, too.Welcome to Shootout City, USA.
st opponent the Denver Broncos (3-4) Authentic Mitch Morse Jersey , head coach Vance Joseph took time to speak with Chiefs media at practice this past week. Here’s what he had to say: On Tyreek’s Hill’s abilities and how to stop him:Jay Biggerstaff-USA TODAY Sports“He is a freakish athlete, he can run and jump, but just natural ball skills,” Joseph said. “A lot of little guys have a real problem finishing down the field in traffic. Tyreek Hill and Antonio Brown those two guys, as I’ve watched film over the years, are really good at finishing down the field. It’s just his natural, physical ability and his explosiveness to jump and catch the ball at the highest point.”“When you’re facing a guy like him you have to challenge him and have your safeties overlap to erase some of the deep balls,” Joseph continued when discussing the keys to stopping his “freakish” speed. “When you watch most of his deep balls, he is really outrunning the corner and outrunning the safeties. So, if that happens it’s going to be a long day for us. But our safeties will do a great job of having great angles to him and having enough depth to overlap his speed.”On difficulty defending the Chiefs offense: Jay Biggerstaff-USA TODAY Sports“It’s unique because it looks different with every personnel group,” Joseph said. “It’s really three different offenses to prepare for and once you add coach [Andy] Reid and coach [Eric] Bieniemy’s tricks, the jet motions, the reverses and all of those shuffle passes — all of those elements make it really tough because now it becomes assignment football and not just one-on-one football.”On defending a versatile Travis Kelce:Jay Biggerstaff-USA TODAY Sports“He’s a matchup nightmare. He’s probably too fast for every linebacker in the league and he’s probably too big for most of the safeties. So, what you have to do is when he’s out of the core you treat him as a wide receiver that way you can play top-down coverage because again, if you don’t he’ll make a big play we’ve experience that before in the past leaving him one on one with our safeties and losing down on the field multiple times.”On preparing for Patrick Mahomes (again): Jay Biggerstaff-USA TODAY Sports“Your plan has to be to trap and contain him and keep him where you want him to be but you have no plan for when he breaks the pocket,” Joseph said about Mahomes’ offensive prowess. “He’s outrun most of our big guys and he’s shaken off most of our pass rushers, but [you have] to grind and get him on the ground as quick as possible.“Most young quarterbacks, when they break the pocket, bad things happen. For him, his eyes are down the field, he’s not looking to run Youth Chris Conley Jersey , he’s looking to throw the ball downfield. He understands the pressures of when he breaks the pocket that he can do damage. Most young guys when they break the pocket, they’re looking to run the football and gain four or five yards and then slide, he’s not. He’s trying to stay behind the line and make a big play downfield. And the problem with this guy, he can throw the ball across his body moving left or moving right so how do you combat that? You simply can’t. Happy NFL trade deadline day everybody! He does a good job.”Clark Hunt on the potential of moving another first-round pick: “Well, I value those picks very highly as do Brett and Andy. It’s not a light decision to ever trade away a pick, especially a first-round pick. Obviously, in hindsight the decision to trade up and take Patrick, even though it did cost us a first-round pick, was a great decision. I don’t want to say that I would approve or wouldn’t approve, because it really would be situational. I’m not aware of any scenario where that would come into play and that trade deadline is coming pretty fast now.”So, will the Chiefs make a move?Unfortunately, I think not. I think if there were a move to be made, it would have been Seahawks safety Earl Thomas for one of the Chiefs’ two second-rounders in 2019. I believe the Chiefs now believe their big mid-season “acquisition” in the secondary will be safety Eric Berry. Berry, when healthy, is arguably the Chiefs’ best defensive player, but he also hasn’t played a game in 418 days or practiced in 79. The general theme from the Chiefs (besides “literally day to day”) as of late is that Berry will play when he and the medical team decide he’s comfortable enough to go.Of course, knowing Veach’s aggressiveness, all it will take is a player he believes in for the right price/salary and Reid on board. You never do know if that comes along in the eleventh hour.
ad win against the Oakland Raiders Sunday to head into their bye week on a two game winning streak and with renewed hopes inside the AFC South. While injuries are still plaguing the team on defense http://www.coltscheapshop.com/cheap-authentic-denico-autry-jersey , they are getting healthier every week, and the bye couldn’t come at a better time for them. They’ll get a chance to get whole as a team and come out blazing against the Jaguars in two weeks. Offense#PlayerPositionOffensive SnapsPercentDefensive SnapsPercentSpecial Teams SnapsPercent#PlayerPositionOffensive SnapsPercentDefensive SnapsPercentSpecial Teams SnapsPercentNotesWhat a nightmare this offense must be for defenses to attempt to deal with. Eric Ebron was on the field for 17 snaps. He had 3 catches for 37 yards and a touchdown. Mo-Alie Cox had 25 snaps and had 1 catch for 26 yards. Except it was a highlight reel touchdown. Nyheim Hines was in the game just barely more than a third of the offensive snaps. He gashed the defense for 78 yards on the ground. It is tough to remember a time a Colts team got such great production off the bench. With the exception of Kelly, this is another week where the offensive line played nearly the whole game together. That continuity thing is real, and this line is just going to get better and better down the stretch. If the Colts can give Andrew Luck another dangerous receiver this offense is going to be terrifying to behold with the kind of clean pocket he is getting.T.Y. Hilton had far and away the most snaps of a receiver, but just 1 catch on 5 targets. While the Colts have done well spreading the ball around, they need Hilton to have a bigger impact on the offense. Ultimately, they are at their best when Hilton is torching secondaries. They didn’t really ease Jack Doyle into the game at all, did they? 57 offensive snaps indicates he was at or very near 100%. His biggest impact came late in the game, but it was great to see him back on the field. Defense#PlayerPositionOffensive SnapsPercentDefensive SnapsPercentSpecial Teams SnapsPercent#PlayerPositionOffensive SnapsPercentDefensive SnapsPercentSpecial Teams SnapsPercentNotesThe Colts’ defense saw its fewest snaps all season on Sunday, a testament to the effectiveness of the offense at controlling the time of possession.Quincy Wilson and Nate Hairston both saw diminished snaps. Wilson with 11 and Hairston with 9. They had 39 and 27 respectively last week. Meanwhile, Arthur Maulet had 28 snaps behind only Desir and Moore. The safety position continues to be a mess with Mike Mitchell getting 32 snaps before sustaining a calf injury and Hooker missing the game. Core Moore attempted to fill in alongside Geathers Cheap Malik Hooker Jersey , but it wasn’t pretty and he definitely looked like a 3-4th string backup.Despite not looking 100%, Denico Autry played 41 snaps. Margus Hunt played 45, and Sheard played 43. The loss of Jihad Ward, as well as having Ridgeway out has changed this defensive unit from one that relied on heavy rotation to a group that is a bit more top heavy. Injury has clearly impacted their effectiveness, a factor that hopefully is resolved by getting healthy over the bye week and getting rookie Tyquan Lewis back.Special Teams#PlayerPositionOffensive SnapsPercentDefensive SnapsPercentSpecial Teams SnapsPercent#PlayerPositionOffensive SnapsPercentDefensive SnapsPercentSpecial Teams SnapsPercent After an exciting start to the season for Thursday Night Football, Week 8 kicks off with a Brock Osweiler revenge game against the Houston Texans. Blake Bortles was benched last week after a string of horrendous play, a slight glimpse that Doug Marrone may be looking to move on from his starting signal caller should his poor play continue. For the defending Super Bowl champions, Philadelphia has had trouble closing out games this season and finding consistency within its play, making this matchup against a good Jacksonville D very intriguing.A Panthers/Ravens matchup and a rematch of a previous Monday Night Football game between the Chiefs and Broncos highlight the 1 p.m. slate. Buffalo Bills running back physically abused her and orchestrated a home invasion that left her beaten and bloodied.Delicia Cordon on Tuesday filed an amended lawsuit against McCoy alleging physical abuse during their nearly two-year relationship. She also accuses him of arranging a July 10 attack at a home McCoy owns in Milton Rafael Bush Jersey , just outside Atlanta, where Cordon lived. The armed intruder demanded specific pieces of jewelry McCoy had given Cordon and repeatedly asked her to return, the lawsuit said. The amended lawsuit seeks more than $50 million in damages.Cordon and McCoy began dating in June 2016, but problems began following the 2016 NFL season when he became physically abusive, the amended lawsuit says."He would often grab (Cordon) in a manner that was painful and would leave (her) skin reddened," it says. "McCoy did not care who was around when he would become enraged. McCoy once physically kicked (Cordon) out of the bed."McCoy has repeatedly proclaimed his innocence and did so again when speaking to reporters after practice Wednesday."I can't control that," he said when asked about Cordon's new allegations. "The only thing I can do is focus on my team, try and get better, and let things off the field take care of themselves."He said he's been "proclaiming innocence since Day 1."To make up for his bad behavior, the amended lawsuit says Josh Allen Jersey , McCoy would apologize and buy Cordon gifts. But when they argued, he would demand that she return jewelry he'd given her.According to the lawsuit, Cordon loved McCoy and believed he loved her, so she "sought to make their relationship work despite the fact that McCoy was physically abusive to her." She also didn't want to damage his reputation as an NFL player and hadn't revealed the alleged abuse before filing the amended lawsuit, it says.Cordon's original lawsuit, filed Aug. 10, didn't mention physical abuse against her. It also didn't directly accuse McCoy of playing a role in the home invasion. Instead, it accused him of breaching his duty to protect her because he owned the home. It also alleged McCoy "permitted a hazardous condition to exist" by having his friend and personal assistant Tamarcus Porter install a new security system and cameras in June and denying her access to arm the system. The version filed Tuesday says McCoy, through Porter, "arranged for the assailant" who attacked Cordon and her friend Authentic Tremaine Edmunds Jersey , Elizabeth Donald, to come into the home to retrieve the jewelry McCoy had repeatedly demanded Cordon return.Donald has also sued McCoy and Porter.Milton police have not arrested anyone in the home invasion. They said in a statement last month that detectives had "encountered numerous obstacles by all involved" and had noticed multiple inconsistencies from people who had provided statements. In an automatic response to an email seeking an update Wednesday, Capt. Charles Barstow said "despite multiple requests, Mr. McCoy has been unavailable to speak directly to detectives."The new version of the lawsuit also expands on Cordon's previous allegations that McCoy abused his young son and dog. Stephanie Maisonet, the mother of McCoy's young son, said in a sworn statement filed in the case that McCoy had physically abused the boy. McCoy responded in a statement on Twitter at the time, calling the allegations "provably false, outrageously inaccurate and offensive."AP sports writer John Wawrow in Orchard Park, New York, contributed to this report.Buffalo Bills vs. Cincinnati Bengals: Nathan Peterman Phillip Gaines Jersey , Marcus Murphy earn game balls The Buffalo Bills’ starters were flat-out embarrassed on both sides of the ball on Sunday night at home against the Cincinnati Bengals. In a game like that, it can be hard to find the positives, but there were some that were masked by the overall performance of the entire team. Here are the game ball recipients for the Bills’ third preseason game:QB Nathan PetermanAs much as we all wanted Josh Allen to win this starting job, Peterman may have closed the door. With the second unit, Peterman went 16-for-21 with 200 yards and a touchdown, while Allen went 6-for-12 with 34 yards and five sacks, but that’s another story in itself. Over the first three preseason games, Peterman has undoubtedly been the best performer from the quarterback group, and the most consistent. Through three preseason games, Peterman is 33-for-42 with 431 yards and three touchdowns. From where Josh Allen appears to be Authentic Jeremy Kerley Jersey , I wouldn't be surprised if Peterman is named the Week one starter. RB Marcus MurphyNot only has Murphy solidified his spot on the roster, he is making a push to dethrone Chris Ivory as the backup to LeSean McCoy. Murphy had another solid game with 11 carries and 58 yards. He has a patient running style and waits for the offensive line’s blocks to develop. Murphy could be a good option for the Bills to take on the backup role of LeSean McCoy. LB Tremaine EdmundsEdmunds started slowly, as did the rest of the first-team defense. As the game progressed, he seemed to be more comfortable with the flow of the game. He was able to fill his gaps well, and his closing speed down the line really showed why he was a first-round pick. In coverage, he settled in as well, jumping a curl route in the slot where he almost came up with the interception. Edmunds finished the game with seven total tackles. There are plenty of question marks on this team, but Edmunds becoming a very good linebacker in the NFL is not one of them.
owner and the presence of a transcendent quarterback into the kind of job security that few other coaches enjoy. McCarthy’s ability to escape scrutiny may now be coming to an end Womens Corey Linsley Jersey , and he has only himself to blame for it.For the third straight loss in a road game the Packers could have won, a member of the organization took the ball out of Aaron Rodgers‘ hands at a key moment. Against the Rams, Ty Montgomery defied orders to take a knee on a kickoff and fumbled away Rodgers’ chance for a game-winning drive. Against the Patriots, Aaron Jones dropped the ball on the first play of the fourth quarter, just as Rodgers was sliding into the proverbial zone. Against the Seahawks, McCarthy chose to punt on fourth and two with 4:20 to go in lieu of leaving the ball in the hands of a franchise quarterback to whom the franchise pays $33.5 million per year.“Definitely but we had the injuries to Kenny Clark and Mike Daniels,” McCarthy said in defending his decision. “So there was definitely consideration but we had just the one timeout and the ability to stop the clock with two minutes left. We played the numbers. We did consider taking a timeout and going for it on fourth and two.”First of all, why would a timeout have been needed before the fourth down play? The Packers had only one left. Other coaches would have been prepared for a situation like that, having a decision in mind and a play picked so that there would be no need to surrender the final chance to stop the clock in order to have more time to think about, talk about, and/or fret about the plan for fourth and two. Second, the injuries to Kenny Clark and Mike Daniels don’t support a decision to punt and play defense; they support a decision to not surrender possession.Third, and perhaps most importantly Womens Muhammad Wilkerson Jersey , what “numbers” was McCarthy playing? It’s a vague reference to analytics and statistics and it ignores the that the Green Bay offense has a guy like Number 12 and the Green Bay defense doesn’t.Numbers be damned, the most sensible decision would have been to go for it. Failure would have put the Packers in the same spot, two first downs away from the clock being killed. And if the Packers had managed to hold the Seahawks to a field goal, the Packers would have had one more chance to finagle a touchdown (possibly by a Hail Mary) and win, 31-30.That didn’t happen because McCarthy didn’t trust Rodgers to convert a fourth-and-two play with the game on the line. And McCarthy didn’t trust his defense to hold Seattle to three. And McCarthy didn’t trust Rodgers, if they’d gotten the ball back while down six points, to make the kind of magic we’ve seen him make in the past. When, of course, the blunders of a coworker or a coach haven’t kept him from making that magic. So, yes, in the zero-sum game that sees one bad team for every good team and that consists of coaches who either have been fired or will be fired, McCarthy finally lands where he should have been at least two years ago, when Rodgers openly complained about a lack of energy on the sidelines and a lack of ultimate accountability in the locker room. That accountability will now be applied to McCarthy Womens Kentrell Brice Jersey , and nothing short of a playoff appearance and perhaps at least one playoff win will keep him from an outcome that, based on the standards to which other coaches have been held, can only be described as overdue.Packers expect Bulaga, Perry for Week 1, but both start camp on PUP The Green Bay Packers opened up training camp by placing offensive tackle Bryan Bulaga and linebacker Nick Perry on the physically unable to perform (PUP) list according to the team. With a PUP designation at this time, Bulaga and Perry will not be able to practice. If they’re kept on PUP to begin the season, each will be forced to miss the first six games of the season but head coach Mike McCarthy said he expects both players to be ready for the Week 1 contest against the Chicago Bears.Perry landing on the list with a hand injury is the bigger surprise as well as the bigger concern. The Packers were counting on Perry and Clay Matthews staying healthy this season to generate the majority of the pass rush. With Perry apparently still being bothered by a hand injury, Green Bay is now even thinner at an already thin spot though again Perry should be set to start the regular season.Until Perry returns, it’s likely to mean it’ll be the Vince Biegel and Reggie Gilbert show at outside linebacker opposite Matthews. Bulaga’s appearance on the list meanwhile is not too surprising considering he tore his ACL in Week 9 last year. Given the recovery timeframe, the PUP list was pretty much a foregone conclusion for Bulaga. Until he returns, Jason Spriggs is likely to see most of the first team reps at right tackle. It is not clear when either player will be ready to fully participate in practice, but Bulaga thought he’d be ready to practice today though the medical staff wants to wait until the nine month mark from his injury before clearing him. That nine month date will be August 6.
The New York Giants appear to be getting rid of everything on their defense that has any semblance of value. In just the past 24 hours http://www.packersauthorizedshops.com/authentic-david-bakhtiari-jersey , general manager Dave Gettleman has traded former first-round cornerback Eli Apple and big-contract nose tackle Damon Harrison, the latter of whom is among the best players at his position in the NFL. Gettleman got back in return three draft picks: one in the fourth round and one in the fifth round, both in 2019, and a seventh-rounder in 2020.That’s practically peanuts in exchange for an Apple and some snacks. For Green Bay Packers fans, a logical series of questions to ask would be whether there are other Giants available for trade, and if any of those would help the Packers in 2018 and possibly beyond. One name in particular stands out as a possibility: safety Landon Collins. After an up-and-down rookie season, Collins broke out in 2016, being named first-team All-Pro after recording five interceptions, 13 pass breakups, and 125 total tackles. He followed that up with another Pro Bowl season in 2017, recording a pair of picks and 99 tackles. So why would the Giants give up on a potential cornerstone defensive player? Simple: he’s in the final year of his contract. Sportsnet New York’s Ralph Vacchiano explains:As Vacchiano notes, the fact that Collins is in a contract year certainly makes it more sensible that the Giants could try to move him, particularly if they do not see him in their plans in the future.Admittedly, Collins is best as a box safety http://www.packersauthorizedshops.com/authentic-kevin-king-jersey , where he can use his size and physicality to help stop the run. Still, he’s at least acceptable as a coverage player, and overall he would certainly be an upgrade over Kentrell Brice. Teaming him up with former Alabama teammate Ha Ha Clinton-Dix could make for an exciting pair over the remainder of the 2018 season. In the 2013 season, the one year when the two safeties started side-by-side, Alabama held opposing teams to just 286 yards and 13.9 points per game. Bama lost one regular-season game that year — the infamous “Kick-Six” game against Auburn, who went on to lose in the National Championship Game to Florida State.Back to Collins, the question becomes what sort of compensation would make for a reasonable offer for both sides? If the Seattle Seahawks were indeed willing to accept a first-round draft pick for Earl Thomas earlier this season as was reported, it’s tough to imagine the Giants getting an equivalent pick for Collins, since Thomas is a superior player and also is in a contract year. That probably sets the ceiling for Collins in round two. Since the Giants traded Eli Apple, a malcontent who never fit in with the team, for a fourth and a future seventh, a higher pick seems necessary for Collins, who has been a far better player than Apple.Ultimately, a second-round or third-round pick could get the job done http://www.packersauthorizedshops.com/authentic-muhammad-wilkerson-jersey , or perhaps a fourth with a higher and earlier pick than the future seventh in the Apple trade. With the Packers holding two firsts right now, parting with a day-two pick next year to upgrade the safety position might not be excessive.Brett Hundley is auditioning to play somewhere else in Packers preseason The Green Bay Packers already know what Brett Hundley looks like if pressed into duty as the starting quarterback in relief of an injured Aaron Rodgers. Three wins in nine tries plus more than half of the Vikings game in which Rodgers got hurt. Two ugly shutouts, no touchdown passes at home in five games, twice failing tobreak 100 yards passing, and five times unable to get to 200.Despite some moments of brilliance — several clutch plays and a number of quality scrambles — Hundley wasn’t good enough. It seems obvious in retrospect (if it wasn’t at the time), a veteran option would have been better. Is there any evidence Hundley would function materially different in this offense in 2018? Part of answer may lie in what happened during the offseason. In his first move as general manager, Brian Gutekunst unloaded former first-round pick Damarious Randall for DeShone Kizer, the Browns starting quarterback last season, and two pick swaps. Netting Kizer, one of the only long-term starters last season with uglier numbers than Hundley, shouldn’t necessarily be seen as the death knell for Hundley’s tenure in Green Bay, but it was close. From a pure talent standpoint, Kizer boasts a bigger frame and stronger arm, and at 22 years old likely possesses more upside. At the very least Cheap Clay Matthews Jersey , he’s had less time to reach his potential. Hundley, a former fifth-round pick who struggles mightily with his processing and decision-making last season, should have been in position to succeed. He’d been in this system, played with these players under these coaches. At 25 years old, he’s been in the league long enough to know what it takes to study, practice, and perform. He’s a veteran. On the other hand, Kizer has more career starts and more experience game-planning as the starter. He’s clearly the more raw prospect, but he should be. Instead of declaring after his junior season, Kizer should have gone back to Notre Dame to polish his skills and play enough season with his Packers teammate Equanimeous St. Brown. Such a move likely would have helped the draft stock of each player. More to the point, the reason to keep Hundley over Kizer wouldn’t be based on talent or developmental upside. On that, Kizer earns a smooth victory. Hundley would be the preferred No. 2 simply because the Packers believe he’d play better than Kizer if Rodgers again went down for an extended period. Here’s the problem: we’ve already seen Hundley falter in that scenario. We don’t know the same is true of Kizer. Moreover, keeping a player the team knows can’t be relied upon as a starter ahead of a more talented player on the depth can stunt the growth of your developmental player. In other words, every rep Hundley takes is one Kizer isn’t getting and Green Bay should want him to be the one getting that critical experience. Kizer remains a work in progress. His footwork needs to be refined. He’s still learning to play under center and clearly doesn’t know the offense as well as Hundley. He couldn’t possibly. But that’s not the question here. When Hundley’s contract is up at the end of 2018 Mason Crosby Jersey , Green Bay almost certainly won’t re-sign him. He’s not the long-term backup for Rodgers and the Packers. So if Rodgers were to get injured and Hundley played six or eight games let’s say, he’d only be taking developmental snaps away from a player who might actually be the preferred No. 2 for the next several years. Even if Hundley were to be marginally more prepared to play (and that’s not at all obvious), putting him in over Kizer sacrifices long-term development for perceived marginal short-term gains. Keeping three quarterbacks could be an option, but the Packers already have an issue with too many receivers worth keeping, questions at offensive line, and decisions to be made in the secondary. The difference between Hundley’s readiness in 2018 compared to Kizer’s shouldn’t be prioritized over keeping a rosterable player at another position. That gap simply isn’t big enough. With nearly no trade value after an abysmal season in 2017, Hundley could only be pushed out via cuts, but it doesn’t make sense to cut him now. Perhaps he could recoup some value with a stellar preseason slate and end up netting the Packers a conditional pick or a bag of footballs or something in return. Keeping Hundley through training camp and preseason simply because they can is a hedge for the Packers against injury. If Kizer goes down, they still have Hundley. But when Sept. 1 rolls around, Green Bay has too many talented players at other positions to fit on this roster to justify keeping three quarterbacks, especially when they know one can’t play. Hundley’s career in the NFL isn’t over, but it looks to be coming to a close in Green Bay. If he’s going to play in 2018 for someone, it likely won’t be for the Packers.
The good Authentic Andrew Luck Jersey , the bad, and the Glowinski from the Colts’ first preseason game The Colts’ are finally back playing football. Now it’s not really meaningful football but it is football nonetheless. The main goal of preseason isn’t too light up the scoreboard or dominate opponents (although it would be nice) but to escape the games injury free and have some roster bubble guys prove their worth while the starters shake off the off-season rust. There was a lot of good in the Colts 19-17 win Thursday night along with a lot of bad. There was also quite a bit of ugly last night as well (looking at you Mark Glowinski). So without further ado lets jump into the Good, the Bad, and the Glowinski of last night’s preseason match-up:The GoodYes this is not a drill, the savior at QB, the neck beard himself is back playing in a football game. How hard has it been listening to National media this offseason harping on how “Andrew Luck will never play again” or how he hasn’t thrown a ball in 180 days or whatever they would say? Luck came out last night and proved to all the doubters that he’s coming to play this season. The highlight of the game for Luck wasn’t a dazzling deep bomb or a rifle over the middle but when he immediately popped up after a hit by Seattle’s LB Bobby Wagner in the first quarter. While we all held our breath as he took that hit, Luck jumped up with a big smile on his face. He’s back everybody. The depth at defensive line looked impressive. Now the starters are a completely different story as Russell Wilson was moving the ball with ease when he was in the game but the 2nd and 3rd string defensive lineman were really getting some pressure in the second half. Anchored by strong play from veteran John Simon who looks surprisingly comfortable in his new 4-3 end position and Hassan Ridgeway who was all over the place last night, the reserves on the line were constantly creating pressure. That will be a huge plus for the Colts this year if they can have a good rotation up front that can create pressure especially coming off of a season where almost all of the pressure was created solely by Jabaal Sheard. They got the win. Why does this matter, it’s just the preseason? Well for starters, they actually took a lead into the fourth quarter and were able to hold onto it. That has to be another sigh of relief for Colts fans who watched last year’s team turn 9 halftime leads into a measly 4 win season. Although the offense was very vanilla and has yet to really put in any real wrinkles that we’ll see in the regular season, it was nice seeing the team move the ball and get the win. It also has to be a big morale boost for the players who were on last years team to come away with a win.Other players who stood out to me/who I want to see more of: RBs Jordan Wilkins and Marlon Mack, WRs KJ Brent and Kasen Williams, LBs Skai Moore and Matthew Adams, OL Joe Haeg and Quenton Nelson, CB Nate Hairston. The BadAlthough the team did come away with the win, the first team defense wasn’t really a reason why. The lack of corner talent was evident from the word go as Seattle’s receivers were effortlessly getting open. The starters along the defensive line struggled to get any pressure or contain Russell Wilson. The linebackers were missing tackles. Outside of a couple of bright spots like Skai Moore rotating in and Nate Hairston’s nice interception, the defense looks like it has a ways to go. Obviously we don’t want to overreact to a preseason game but we knew going into this year that the defense was a work in progress. Still though, hopefully we see some improvement in second preseason game. Some rookies had their fair share of struggles. I don’t really want to harp too much on this as they are rookies getting acclimated to the NFL game but some of them definitely struggled last night. Nyheim Hines had a rough night returning punts as he muffed two in the fourth quarter along with having another fumble being saved by the refs calling his forward progress stopped. 2nd round guard Braden Smith had some trouble last night in pass protection. Seahawks rookie Rasheem Green blew past him in the 3rd quarter for an easy sack. WRs Deon Cain and Daurice Fountain didn’t necessarily hurt themselves with poor play but both not being on the field last night paved the way for guys like KJ Brent and Kasen Williams to look pretty good. Overall though, these rookies will get better. This was their first game and we should all expect improvement going forward. Some other players who had poor games/who I don’t want to see more of: S Shamarko Thomas, RB Christine Michael Womens Eric Ebron Jersey , OT J’Marcus Webb, LB Antonio MorrisonThe GlowinskiNow obviously after last night’s game I have to name this category this way for the rest of the season. Right? I’ll leave that up to you all in the comments but that QB/Center exchange between 4th string Quarterback Brad Kaaya and 3rd string Center Mark Glowinski was pinnacle preseason football. In three consecutive snaps in the fourth quarter, the two could not figure out how to successfully get the ball into the quarterback’s hands. The third and final snap in this laughable series of events saw a ball sail past Kaaya’s hands which led to a mad scramble around the goal line and a touchdown for Seattle’s defensive tackle Joey Ivie. It was so bad that Joe Haeg, who started the game at tackle, had to finish the game at center so the offense could actually run a play. So yeah, that was some ugly right there. Honorable mention to Shamarko Thomas and that ejection deserving hit though. What the heck was he doing on that play? Just a boneheaded mistake by him. The Colts offense is starting to turn the corner and look more like what we expected it to as the various position groups get healthy. The wide receivers have been consistently a weakness, as we expected they might be, to some degree. However, what is becoming harder to ignore is just how good the tight end group is. The Colts tight ends account for 9 of Andrew Luck’s 20 passing touchdowns this season so far. What’s more shocking is that this has taken place with their best player at the position out with an injury. Photo by Andy Lyons/Getty ImagesOver the past two seasons, Jack Doyle has proven to be a valuable and consistent contributor in the Colts’ offense, a player who can move the sticks as well as provide solid blocking in the running game. He has been Andrew Luck’s favorite target on those downs where they have to get a completion. With him absent, the Colts certainly felt the effects. Doyle was used heavily in the first two games as a blocker. The offensive line was decimated with injury and that resulted in the need to use him as a blocker more than a receiver. With his loss, the impact on the running game was felt immediately. Now however, with the offensive line clicking after Anthony Castonzo’s return, the running game is starting to get some traction. If Doyle is able to return following the Colts’ bye week, he provides yet another receiving threat to be paired with an already potent tight end group. Photo by Mike Stobe/Getty ImagesJust how strong is this group? Well, Eric Ebron, the Detroit Lions’ first round “bust” that Chris Ballard signed in the offseason has already bested his career touchdown marker with 6—5 of which have come in the red zone. That number ties him for 2nd in the league in receiving touchdowns, trailing only the electric Tyreek Hill. The guy who would likely find himself the TE3 upon Jack Doyle’s return? That’s Erik Swoope. The Colts’ pet project, a basketball player converted to tight end http://www.indianapoliscoltsteamonline.com/al-woods-jersey , has bounced back and forth from the practice squad throughout the season. Even so, he has 7 catches on 8 targets. 3 of them are for touchdowns. That’s more than Zach Ertz, Rob Gronkowski, Tyler Eiffert, or Jimmy Graham. I’m not sure how you can get better production out of your 3rd string tight end than that.Photo by Michael Hickey/Getty ImagesUnderstand, I’m not saying Swoope is better than those guys. What I’m saying is that we’ve got a coach who knows how to put tight ends in a position to win matchups, and we’ve got the tight end talent to do it. If Jack Doyle is able to return after the bye, this offense gets even more dangerous. Why, exactly? Because his return will let them run in 12 personnel with their best players on offense. 12 personnel just means 1 running back and 2 tight ends are in the formation. With such dangerous receiving threats at tight end and with a budding running attack, 12 personnel can prove to be an absolute nightmare for defenses to cover. With an extra tight end in the game, you have better blocking for your running backs. However, when your tight ends are also dangerous receiving threats, the defense can’t overplay the run, because a play action pass can kill them. Oh, and once you’ve covered them, you just have to deal with T.Y. Hilton, one of the most dangerous deep threats in the NFL.This is exactly the problem Frank Reich wants this offense to create for opposing defenses. If the offensive line can continue its run of excellent play and the running game can continue to be effective, that is exactly what the offense will do.
Cornerback Jalen Ramsey and defensive end Dante Fowler are back from suspension http://www.coltsauthorizedshops.com/authentic-rigoberto-sanchez-jersey , but neither is talking about what got them banned for a week or how they spent their time away. They were not available during an open locker room session Monday. The team said both players will answer questions following Jacksonville's preseason game against the Atlanta Falcons on Saturday night."They're back and we're ready to go," coach Doug Marrone said.Marrone declined to say whether he met with the two suspended players Monday morning."I meet with a lot of players. I really do," Marrone said. "I meet with players all the time. This is the same thing. I meet with them. I talk to them. It's the same way. I'm going to keep those conversations private and keep moving along."Marrone suspended Ramsey and Fowler for violating team rules and conduct unbecoming a Jaguars football player. Neither traveled to Minnesota for two days of joint practices with the Vikings and a preseason game.Fowler was involved in several fights on Aug. 12, including one after practice with fellow defensive end Yannick Ngakoue in which they had to be separated repeatedly. No punches were thrown.Ramsey was one of several teammates in the middle of it. He shouted profanities at media members who captured the altercation on video and later took to Twitter to threaten reporters with "war" for releasing the video.Fowler and Ramsey rejoined teammates in meetings and practice Monday."You just got back to business as usual like they never left because they never did leave," defensive tackle Malik Jackson said. "They're going to be put right back in. No need to make a bigger deal out of than we need."Ramsey made headlines again three days later in an interview with GQ magazine by saying calling Buffalo Bills rookie Josh Allen "trash" and saying Atlanta Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan was "overrated."Baltimore's Joe Flacco, Indianapolis' Andrew Luck and Eli Manning of the New York Giants also got sub-par reviews. Ramsey called Pittsburgh's Ben Roethlisberger "decent at best.""If you can back it up, you can say whatever you want as long as it's respectful and coach Marrone doesn't care," Jackson said. "At the end of the day Matthias Farley Jersey , he's a top-rated player so if you want to go out there and talk about somebody or talk to somebody, talk about every quarterback in the league, then go ahead. But I think that he has the skills to back it up so I don't care."Ramsey has been ejected from two games in two seasons and has a penchant for getting under the skin of receivers like Steve Smith and A.J. Green, leading some to call him the NFL's newest villain."Why not?" Jackson said. "There's a lot of nice guys in this league, a lot of guys that (do) the right thing. Not saying (Ramsey) doesn't do the right thing, but you've got to push people's buttons to get in their head and be outspoken about it."A lot of guys don't want to be outspoken about it because they don't know if they can back it up. He knows he can back it up so let him do it."NOTES: Jaguars had six players return to practice Monday after missing last week's exhibition at Minnesota, including four starters: safety Tashaun Gipson (ankle), guard Andrew Norwell (calf) Authentic Nate Hairston Jersey , right tackle Jermey Parnell (knee) and tight end Austin Seferian-Jenkins (chest). ... First-round draft pick Taven Bryan (abdomen) also practiced and is expected to make his preseason debut against the Falcons.Colts vs 49ers: Preseason week three inactives The Colts have released the players who will be inactive for today’s game and it doesn’t offer too many surprises. One interesting thing of note, Marlon Mack, Robert Turbin, Tion Green, and Branden Oliver are all listed as inactive. That leaves Jordan Wilkins, Nyheim Hines, and Christine Michael to divide up the duties at running back. If the rookies want to establish themselves as central to the offense, today is the day to do it. Additionally Youth Quincy Wilson Jersey , both Nate Hairston and Quincy Wilson are out today, which leaves the cornerback group pretty thin as well. This bodes well for the guys who are hoping to win a spot as one of the depth corners. Kenny Moore and Pierre Desir will both likely get plenty of time, but the depth guys will have to take on a good bit of time as well. In positive news, Kemoko Turay appears to be suiting up, and Denzelle Good will be as well. These two both have competition for starting roles at their respective positions, so it’ll be interesting to see how much they each play today. The Colts kick off against the 49ers at 4:30pm EDT.
Two Sports Illustrated writers predict Chiefs will win Super Bowl With opening night (the Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles hosting the Atlanta Falcons) just two days away Authentic Kareem Hunt Jersey , it’s officially NFL prediction week.Sports Illustrated’s Monday Morning Quarterback joined that mix on Tuesday with picks for the playoffs, MVP and Super Bowl.In browsing the picks, I found two writers—Robert Klemko and Mitch Goldich—have the Kansas City Chiefs down to raise the Lombardi Trophy.Klemko has the Chiefs defeating the New Orleans Saints.Klemko’s reasoning seems sound, but there is no mentioning of the Chiefs defense. Frankly, that’s a wise choice in a Chiefs’ Super Bowl prediction.Goldich also has the Chiefs defeating the Saints.“When the Patriots’ decline eventually begins” has been something non-New England AFC fans have been waiting on for a long time. In my eyes, until we see tangible signs of it, the Patriots remain the team to beat. The Chiefs will get their shot with their Week 6 Sunday Night Football date against the Pats.Other SI picks for the Super Bowl: Green Bay (3), Minnesota (2), New England (2), New Orleans (2), Atlanta, Carolina (over KC), Los Angeles Chargers Authentic Mitch Morse Jersey , PhiladelphiaRead the full analysis here.Dee Ford: “I think we’re going to shock a lot of people” On May 8, 2014, Kansas City Chiefs fans were looking for a wide receiver in the 2014 NFL Draft.Or a safety.Or an offensive lineman.Or a cornerback. The Chiefs already had Justin Houston and Tamba Hali.No fans were thinking about the Chiefs drafting a pass rusher — and if they were, there was one name that wasn’t passing their lips. But “Dee Ford” was the name the commissioner spoke that night, as the Chiefs picked Ford — a defensive end from Auburn — with the 23rd selection in the first round.I remember seeing video from the Chiefs draft party at Arrowhead Stadium. The room went completely quiet when Ford’s name was announced.Few fans understood the move, and fewer still had even heard of Ford. But Chiefs GM John Dorsey was convinced, telling reporters that he believed the Chiefs had drafted the second-best pass rusher available — after Jadeveon Clowney, whom the Houston Texans had picked with the first overall pick.“If you watch the national championship game against Florida State, if you watch him against Texas A&M, even if you watch him in the Senior Bowl, the way he dominated people in the Senior Bowl, he’s got a unique trait,” Dorsey said that night. “Not only is it speed http://www.kansascitychiefsteamonline.com/laurent-duvernay-tardif-jersey , but what the great pass rushers have is they have this strong interior hip, when they start leaning to the quarterback, he doesn’t lose his balance and he continues to drive forward and that, to me, is a very rare trait.”Photo by Jamie Squire/Getty ImagesWith Justin Houston and Tamba Hali on the team, there was little opportunity for Ford to see the field. And when he did, sometimes things didn’t go well. There was that viral video of Ford appearing to run away from San Francisco 49ers running back Frank Gore — one that now, years later, still seems to define him in the eyes of some Chiefs fans. But hey... Ford got national exposure for it.Unfortunately, it was on a C’Mon, Man! segment on ESPN.None of that was fair to the rookie linebacker. But NFL players aren’t always treated fairly, and there was nothing to do but keep going forward.Late in 2015, Ford got the chance to start. In his second game as a starter — a pivotal game against the San Diego Chargers at Arrowhead — Ford exploded for three sacks and seven tackles Authentic Chris Conley Jersey , and he broke up a pass from Philip Rivers to Danny Woodhead in the end zone on the last play of the game. The play saved the game — and possibly the entire Chiefs season. In case you don’t remember, this was the season the Chiefs started 1-5, and needed to win 10 straight games to make the playoffs. If Ford hadn’t made that play, the Chiefs’ first playoff victory since 1993 probably wouldn’t have happened. The following season, Ford started 14 games and began to make an impact, recording 10 sacks. It gave fans some hope that Ford might finally be maturing into the player they would expect to get from the draft’s first round. But six games into the 2017 season, Ford had to step off the field, as a nagging — and painful — back injury required surgery to correct.Even worse, the circumstances of the situation required that the Chiefs pick up the fifth year of Ford’s contract. So now, the pressure is on for Ford. And through two games, he has been one of the bright spots of a Chiefs defense that could use some.In an analysis of the Chiefs victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday, Pro Football Focus laid out the case.Speaking to reporters on Monday, a clearly relaxed and confident Ford said that he’s excited to return to Arrowhead Stadium to play the San Francisco 49ers this Sunday.“I’m really looking forward to it Womens Terrance Smith Jersey ,” he said. ”It’ll be pretty emotional to me because the last home game that I was at, I was on the sideline because I had just gotten the second back surgery. To be here now — healthy once again — will be very emotional for me. I’m excited.”Head coach Andy Reid said Ford is completely ready to go this season.“He has a full grasp of the defense, and he’s healthy. He’s been nicked up here and there in years past. He feels good right now, and he’s moving fast. We saw that during camp. He’s in phenomenal shape. He’s done a good job with that. His strength is up. Most of all, he’s healthy. He’s able to get out there every day.”Ford said it had been a difficult trip back from the injury.“It feels good. It was a long road to get back — and I’m still getting better — but for the human being part, the wellness part, it’s good to be out there healthy. And now it’s good to get out there and sharpen the iron and get better each week.”Ford is aware that his defensive unit is under intense scrutiny after giving up so many yards (and points) in the season’s first two games, but he remains confident.“We can be very good. It’s funny to hear people talk about the yardage we’re giving up and all that. We’re a very new defense, and we’re making some really big plays out on the field, and we understand we’re not even scratching the surface of how good we can be. It’s very early. “We’re just going to continue to get better, and I think we’re going to shock a lot of people.“
