n Tuesday afternoon Youth Jamaal Williams Jersey , but it was a minor tweak to the practice squad rather than any notable addition to the 53-man roster. The move effectively ends up being a swap of interior offensive linemen on the team’s practice squad, as the team released Austin Davis and signed rookie free agent Anthony Coyle to that unit.Davis, who primarily played center and dabbled at guard in training camp, was an undrafted free agent signing out of Duke. The Packers paid him a $6 Youth Clay Matthews Jersey ,000 signing bonus to sign with the team, but he was waived at final cuts and landed on the practice squad.Coyle, a rookie free agent from Fordham University, takes his place. Though a guard in the NFL Womens Blake Martinez Jersey , Coyle was a left tackle in college, fitting the trend that the Packers tended to look for in all their linemen under Ted Thompson and now Brian Gutekunst. He also put up very good numbers in agility drills at his Pro Day, with a 3-cone time of 7.71 seconds and a short shuttle of 4.79. Initially signing with the Houston Texans after a tryout invitation, Coyle was waived at final cuts and did not earn an invitation back onto Houston’s practice squad.Stay tuned to see if any additional roster moves take place given the Packers’ large group of free agent workouts on Tuesday.Packers S Kentrell Brice carted off practice field on Monday Safety Kentrell Brice left the Packers practice facility on a cart Monday afternoon after coming down awkwardly and staying down for several minutes according to reports. The type of injury and its severity aren’t yet know and we’ll update as more information comes out from Green Bay. Brice had been playing ahead of second-year safety Josh Jones at safety opposite HaHa Clinton-Dix Womens Geronimo Allison Jersey , a position he’d only given up to Jones last season after groin and ankle injuries cost him his 2017 campaign. The 23-year-old undrafted free agent has shown flashes of physical potential, but has yet to be a consistent player for the Packers defense after two seasons. Jones becomes the logical fill-in in the short-term, but a serious injury could cause the Packers to explore the free agent safety market. Starting caliber safeties Kenny Vaccaro and Eric Reid remain unsigned and could come in to provide valuable depth at a key position in Mike Pettine’s defense.
six quarters of Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers playing on one leg — leading to a win over the Chicago Bears and a tie against the Minnesota Vikings http://www.packerscheapshoponline.com/cheap-authentic-muhammad-wilkerson-jersey , Packers fans reasons for both worry and optimism. Thankfully, optimism appears to be winning out. A week after seeing our confidence index in the Acme Packing Company FanPulse survey drop fro 98% to 78% following Rodgers’ injury, the numbers increased up to 85% following the tie. Presumably Rodgers’ ability to still play well is a large reason for that, as he threw for 281 yards and a touchdown with no interceptions.Meanwhile, as mentioned earlier, the Packers got a taste of the NFL’s ten-minute overtime on Sunday, tying the Vikings at 29 after two missed field goals by Vikings kicker Daniel Carlson in the extra time. That was the second tie in two weeks in the NFL, and it prompted the following question for all of SB Nation’s FanPulse group: how would you change the NFL’s overtime rules? It seems that the readers like college football’s overtime rules, with that being the most popular response:What’s your take on the NFL’s overtime rules? Should they revert back to the old 15-minute sudden death format? Or are you a fan of college overtime? I’m here to change that one play at a time. For any plays you’d like me to discuss, tweet me at @farminvt.I told myself I wasn’t going to do another clip of Davante Adams. I wasn’t.“He’s going to be overdone” http://www.packerscheapshoponline.com/cheap-authentic-antonio-morrison-jersey , I said.“He’ll have plenty of other opportunities this season, don’t go back to back with highlights of him”.Well here we are, yet again spotlighting Adams for his magnificent play in week 2 of the 2018 preseason.Adams has gotten off to even faster starts than Justify coming out of the gates, or me when I hear “burgers are done”. Adams played only 7 snaps in the second preseason game but he left his mark in a hurry:Ahh, so good. Can’t wait until these games actually start to matter. But then again, does anything really matter? Aren’t we all just a collection of molecules being hurled around space on a giant rock, trying to make the best of our limited existence before we meet the inevitable end? Anyway, Adams wasn’t done putting his mark on the game once he came out though. With 12 minutes to go in the third quarter and the Packers on defense, Adams was showing off his pearly whites and fantastic head of hair in a sideline interview. Let’s take a look (recommended sound on):Did you see that smile? A smile that could shine through a black hole - a smile that could light up the state of Wisconsin for a year. Colgate and Head & Shoulders should give this guy a marketing deal yesterday. Let’s go through this interview step by step.It starts off pretty inconspicuously, with Adams brushing his hair aside as he listens to reporter Lance Allan’s questions.Immediately afterwards is where Adams’ real skill shows through.Yeah, he’s pretty good at running routes, making contested catches, getting yards after the catch Cheap Jaire Alexander Jersey , yadda yadda.Look at the eyes here; not only is he smoothly answering some of the most hard-hitting, ‘gotcha’ type questions ever asked by man, he is also taking notes on the Steelers second unit offense in case he wants to ever change positions to DB.I mean, this is a man locked in to his target:Adams then flashes his pythons and looks directly at the camera - he knows what America wants, and he’s giving it to them.More Davante, less everything else. Here’s the interview in slow motion for all the extra goodness:Oh, I guess Josh Jackson made a pretty nice play in the background too. It’s hard to see as there’s an incredibly suave, talented, superstar in the way, but if you look closely you’ll find it.That’s it for this week - remember to enjoy yourself, and as always, stay weird.
e team poised to “break” several dubious franchise marks for offensive ineptitude. Following Buffalo’s 25-6 loss to the New England Patriots on Monday Night Football Youth Jason Croom Jersey , Buffalo’s fourth time in six losses scoring seven or fewer points, the Bills rank dead-last in the 32-team NFL in scoring average per game. Buffalo is averaging a robust 10.875 points per game, by far the lowest scoring average of any team in the league. The Bills are on a projected pace for the lowest scoring average in franchise history, and their offense is on pace to have the least potent attack since the 2006 Oakland Raiders (10.5 points per game). With an attack that is averaging only 246.4 total yards per game on offense, Buffalo is on pace to break the franchise mark for fewest yards of offense per game. That mark is held by the 1971 Bills, who posted a 1-13 record and averaged 237.6 yards of offense per game. Buffalo’s current pace would represent the fewest yards per game in the league since the 2008 Cincinnati Bengals (245.3 yards/game). With the three-headed quarterback monster of Josh Allen Womens Kelvin Benjamin Jersey , Nathan Peterman, and Derek Anderson, the Bills have thrown for 1,405 yards in eight games, an average of 149.1 yards/game. That figure is the worst since the Jacksonville Jaguars somehow averaged 136 passing yards/game in the 2011 season. The only bright spot? Buffalo, which had to play the league’s toughest slate of eight games (based on strength of schedule) has the league’s easiest schedule over the final eight games. Can the offense get off the historically-bad pace it is currently on by facing weaker competition? Only time will tell. For now Youth Matt Milano Jersey , the Bills must prepare to face the ferocious Chicago Bears in Week 9 at New Era Field with Peterman at starting quarterback.Minnesota Vikings set record for fewest rushing attempts in game against Buffalo Bills The Minnesota Vikings gave up on the run in Sunday’s game against the Buffalo Bills. They ran the ball so little, they set an NFL record in the process with just six rushing attempts. That’s only been done twice before in NFL history. It almost wasn’t even that many as you’re about to see. With starting running back Dalvin Cook sidelined, the Vikings still had Latavius Murray (776 career rushing attempts) and rookie Mike Boone in the backfield, they just chose not to use them much. Each had two carries along with two Kirk Cousins scrambles to tie for the team lead in rushing attempts. Here are the play-by-play notes:On Minnesota’s second drive, they opened with a rush on 1st and 10 by Murray for 2 yards. The next play, Boone gained no yards on 2nd and 8.Boone gained Minnesota’s first first down of the game Womens Zay Jones Jersey , rumblings for 11 yards on 2nd and 7 on the third Vikings possession of the day. With six minutes left in the first half, Murray received his next handoff and lost a yard setting up 2nd and 11.On Minnesota’s first drive of the second half, Cousins fumbled the 2nd and 1 snap and recovered the ball for a 4-yard loss. It was an accidental rushing attempt. The first play of the fourth quarter was a 2-yard Kirk Cousins scramble.Had it not been for the third quarter fumble, the Vikings would have stood alone with the fewest rushing attempts in NFL history. They had zero called running plays in the second half. They went more than 36 minutes of game time without calling a running play. The other two games with six rushing attempts are fairly recent, as well. In 2004, the New England Patriots set the NFL record against the Pittsburgh Steelers. It was matched two years later by the Arizona Cardinals playing against the Minnesota Vikings. All three teams with six rushing attempts in a game lost Womens Kyle Williams Jersey , as you might expect.
College football proved White Jerry Hughes Jersey , once again, that its greatest strength is its unpredictability. No. 2 Georgia was shut down by No. 13 LSU’s defense, No. on and Iowa State was able to come away with the win against West Virginia. Other teams, like No. 3 Ohio State and No. 14 Florida, faced some surprisingly competitive squads, but managed to come out on top anyway. Take a gander below for those players that helped out their draft stock during a crazy week. WR Collin Johnson (Texas)Johnson’s productive day receiving the ball allowed the Longhorns to fend off a feisty Baylor team. The 6’6” http://www.authenticsbuffalobills.com/cheap-rafael-bush-jersey , 220-pound junior wasn’t really a threat to run by the Baylor corners, but his ability to high-point the ball and his overwhelming catch radius allowed him to come down with most passes. Johnson was also very physical in his routes, not afraid to mix it up with whomever was standing in front of him. His day resulted in 11 catches for 132 yards and a touchdown.QB Dwayne Haskins (Ohio State)One of the few quarterback prospects who had a decent day at the office, Haskins picked apart Minnesota with pinpoint throws between the hashes. Unlike in his game against Penn State, the sophomore signal caller wasn’t pressured much and was much more accurate and decisive as a consequence. Haskins finished the day with 33 completions on 44 attempts for 412 yards and three touchdowns.RB David Montgomery (Iowa State)A massive part of Iowa State’s win against heavily favored West Virginia was the play of a newly healthy Montgomery. The junior broke out his quick jump cut and just proved difficult to tackle and bring down all day. His ability to get West Virginia defenders to commit to gaps before cutting plays outside resulted in several big runs. With games like this, in what’s looking like a down draft for running backs http://www.authenticsbuffalobills.com/cheap-ryan-groy-jersey , Montgomery is proving that he deserves to be considered one of the best.TE Jace Sternberger (Texas A&M)A&M had a fight on their hands against South Carolina’s electric offense and turned to perhaps it’s most unlikely contributor: recent transfer tight end Jace Sternberger. The junior had a career day thanks to his quick straight-line speed out of his stance and his soft hands. Most of all though was his absolute refusal to go down after first contact. He was dragging defenders all over the field after catches. Sternberger’s day resulted in 7 receptions for 145 yards and a touchdown. He’s one to watch moving forward.DE Zach Allen (Boston College)Teammate Wyatt Ray may have had more sacks, but Allen was more regularly disruptive in their game against Louisville. With his quickness off the snap and his pure upper-body strength, he took up residence in the Cardinals’ backfield. The senior was second on the team in tackles and came up with a sack and three-tackles-for-loss. He also managed to block a PAT attempt, which meant his team was able to go into the locker room at halftime up by four. LB Joe Giles-Harris (Duke)Teams need great linebacker play if they want to have any hope of defeating the triple-option offense, and that’s what Duke got on Saturday with the play of Joe Giles-Harris. The junior from Rockland County was the heady veteran presence that the Blue Devils needed in defending the Georgia Tech attack. Even though he didn’t have any splash plays, he paced his team with 15 tackles and his ability to take on blockers and tackle runners ensured that the Yellow Jackets had very few long gains.Bills vs. Chargers: Josh Allen gets first win in Madden Simulation On Sunday http://www.authenticsbuffalobills.com/cheap-corey-bojorquez-jersey , the Buffalo Bills will play host to the Los Angeles Chargers in their home opener. Both teams are looking to avoid starting off the season 0-2 because that means playoffs are unlikely. We decided we could not wait the hours until kickoff and used EA Sports Madden NFL 19 to simulate tomorrow’s contest.Buffalo 35, Chargers 27In a shootout, it was the rookie Josh Allen winning his first career NFL start passing for 349 yards and three touchdowns! Now remember this is just a simulation, last year it had Nathan Peterman doing well against the Chargers and we all know how that ended up. Allen had to be special in this game and he was as LeSean McCoy only rushed for 36 yards on the ground. In the receiving game, it was Charles Clay stepping up with two touchdowns after being a no-show in the Week one contest. We saw third downs be a stat of interest in both the simulation last week and in the actual game as the Bills were just awful in that category. This week they are expected to do better converting on 60 percent of them. Corey Giacovelli
In what surely will go down as one of the greatest regular-season games in history Eric Dickerson Jersey , the Chiefs and Rams traded offensive touchdowns, defensive touchdowns, field goals, missed extra points, sacks and big plays. The teams combined for 1,001 yards and 105 points as the Rams beat the Chiefs 54-51.The highly anticipated matchup lived up to its billing. It set all kinds of records, including becoming the highest-scoring Monday night game in history. It was the third-most points scored in any NFL game ever. Washington and the Giants combined for 113 points in 1966 and the Bengals and Browns combined for 106 in 2004.The instant classic left only one question: Is it the best regular-season game in history? There were six lead changes Torry Holt Jersey Salute to Service , including four in the fourth quarter. The Rams took the lead for good on a 40-yard pass from Jared Goff to Gerald Everett with 1:49 left. They still had to stave off the Chiefs twice more, though. It was that kind of game.Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes threw for six touchdowns, the most passing touchdowns the Rams ever have allowed in a single game. But he also had five turnovers — two fumbles and three interceptions. For all the offense, a defensive player was the player of the game.Samson Ebukam scored two touchdowns — one on a fumble and another on an interception — and hit Mahomes arm with 1:18 remaining and the Chiefs driving. The duck was picked by Rams cornerback Marcus Peters, the ex-Chief traded to the Rams during the offseason. The Chiefs got one more chance, though, after the Rams ran only 28 seconds off the clock. They took over at their own 12 with 50 seconds remaining. The Chiefs reached only their own 26 before Mahomes threw one up for grabs that Lamarcus Joyner intercepted with 13 seconds left.Goff went 31-of-49 for 413 yards and four touchdowns. He lost two fumbles Authentic Jack Youngblood Jersey , one of which Allen Bailey returned for a touchdown. Brandin Cooks caught eight passes for 107 yards. The Chiefs had two receivers over 100 yards with Tyreek Hill catching 10 passes for 215 yards and two touchdowns, and Travis Kelce making 10 catches for 127 yards and a touchdown.Aaron Donald made two sacks and forced two fumbles, both of which the Rams recovered. Given that the Rams are 9-1 and favored to beat the 9-1 Chiefs on Monday night in a matchup of the two teams with the best records in the league, it’s easy to overlook the fact that the Rams’ defense has not been particularly good this year. The Rams are allowing opposing runners to average 5.2 yards a carry, worst in the NFL. And the improvements the Rams made in the secondary during the offseason have turned out not to be improvements at all, with cornerback Marcus Peters struggling all season and cornerback Aqib Talib on injured reserve. But there is one thing the Rams are doing well: Pressuring opposing passers.According to Chris Trapasso of the Buffalo News, using data compiled by Pro Football Focus Limited Jared Goff Jersey , the Rams are getting pressure on 41.6 percent of the passes they face this season, the best in the NFL. That doesn’t necessarily mean the Rams are getting a lot of sacks — they’re tied for 10th in the league with 26 sacks — but they are consistently hurrying opposing quarterbacks. And that underscores just how disappointing the secondary has been. If the defensive front is hurrying the opposing quarterback, and the opposing quarterback is completing passes anyway, that doesn’t reflect well on the secondary.Getting to Patrick Mahomes on Monday night will be important, but the rest of the defense has to do its job as well. Given the way both teams’ offenses and defenses have played this season, expect a shootout.
When last they met Mark Barron Jersey , the Eagles and Vikings were vying for a spot in the Super Bowl. Now they are searching for consistency."Each week — and (Eagles defensive coordinator) Jim Schwartz mentioned it and it's true," e being 0-4 and two plays away from being 4-0. That's how tight this thing really is."Coming off its championship season Philly has won twice at home and fallen twice on the road, last week blowing a 14-point lead to lose in overtime at Tennessee. The defense remains stout much of the time, but fell apart in key spots at the Titans, especially in OT."Therefore, with that being said," Pederson adds, "as coaches we got to make sure we're doing our part to prepare our players and get them ready for those situations."Minnesota's dilemma is deeper. While the Eagles are just a half-game out of the NFC East lead, the Vikings are 1-2-1 and trail Chicago and Green Bay in the NFC North. Most important, Minnesota must find a running game, ranking last. If Dalvin Cook can get healthy, it would be a huge help."It has been difficult," coach Mike Zimmer says. "We have to be patient with it, No. 1. Honestly, a little bit has been dictated with some of the scores throughout the last couple ballgames. It's important for us to have balance. It keeps the defensive line from pinning their ears back all the time. I think it helps the football team overall. We just have to do a better job."The weekend began Thursday night with New England's 38-24 home victory over Indianapolis.Tom Brady reached 500 touchdown passes and New England (3-2) won its second straight after a mediocre start to the season Brady also tied Colts kicker Adam Vinatieri, a former teammate, for most NFL victories with 226. Indianapolis dropped to 1-4.Off are Tampa Bay (2-2) and Chicago (3-1).Los Angeles Rams (4-0) at Seattle (2-2)The Seahawks' former Legion of Boom might have given LA's booming attacking fits. This group, while well coached and aggressive, figures to struggle with an offense that comes with 10 days off and has three wideouts who eclipsed 100 yards receiving last game: Brandin Cooks, Cooper Kupp and Robert Woods. Plus, the Rams are no slouches on defense.Seattle's season, despite two straight wins, got messier when it lost star safety Earl Thomas (broken leg) and tight end Will Dissly (patellar tendon) for the year. Thomas's parting gesture to the Seahawks sideline was not quite complimentary.Miami (3-1) at Cincinnati (3-1)Despite some awful statistics including being outgained by 435 yards and outscored 90-82, Miami leads the AFC East. Of course, it was routed in New England last weekend. The Dolphins do lead the league with nine interceptions. Also on top of their division Rob Havenstein Jersey Salute to Service , tied with Baltimore in the AFC North, the Bengals are struggling on defense, too. They rank last on third downs, allowing opponents to convert 57 percent. But the offense has sizzled, especially in the red zone: Cincinnati has scored in its past 34 trips, the longest active streak in the NFL.Baltimore (3-1) at Cleveland (1-2-1)Here's a matchup the former team from Cleveland loves. Baltimore has won five straight and 18 of the past 20 meetings under coach John Harbaugh. While defense always is the calling card for the Ravens, Joe Flacco has eight TD passes, only two interceptions, and Justin Tucker could make field goals Sunday kicking from Lake Erie.Oddly, this is the final intradivision road game for the Ravens, who beat Pittsburgh and lost to Cincinnati.Cleveland can play some D, too. It has a league-high 13 takeaways and DE Myles Garrett, the top overall choice in the 2017 draft, has 4 1/2 sacks this season and 11 1/2 in 15 games. He made a career-best nine tackles last week in an OT loss in Oakland.Jacksonville (3-1) at Kansas City (4-0)A matchup of elite AFC teams in which Kansas City's powerful offense led by emerging star quarterback Patrick Mahomes (14 TD passes, no interceptions, NFL-best 15 passes of at least 25 yards) faces the league's best defense. Jacksonville excels particularly in pass coverage, and the perspective matchup of cornerback Jalen Ramsey vs. wideout Tyreek Hill is a juicy one.The Jaguars haven't allowed an opponent to score on its opening possession this season. The Chiefs have scored 52 points in first quarters.Washington (2-1) at New Orleans (3-1), Monday nightA major test for the Redskins, coming off a bye and alone atop their division. The Saints showed against the Giants that they can win without Drew Brees putting on an aerial spectacular as Alvin Kamara scored three TDs rushing, Wil Lutz kicked four field goals, and the defense mostly befuddled New York.Washington's defense has been surprisingly effective, ranking third overall. It must slow Brees, who has 71,740 yards passing, needing 201 to move ahead of Peyton Manning for the career lead. He's passed for eight touchdowns with no interceptions, and has rushed for two TDs.Atlanta (1-3) at Pittsburgh (1-2-1)Which of these supposed contenders has been more disappointing? The Falcons have been hammered by injuries on defense Authentic Pharoh Cooper Jersey , down three starters already, placing an extra burden on the offense. Mostly, Matt Ryan, Julio Jones and company have come through — Atlanta has scored 116 points but allowed 122; only Tampa Bay and Oakland have been more generous.Pittsburgh's issues seem to run deeper than a porous D and too many turnovers, a league-worst nine (tied with the Bucs). The Steelers are runaway leaders in penalties, are missing star RB Le'Veon Bell in a contract dispute and are enveloped in far too much drama.Oakland (1-3) at Los Angeles Chargers (2-2)Both teams can move the ball and are vulnerable on defense, so a shootout might be in the offing.Derek Carr is fourth in the league in completions (120) and completion rate (71.0 percent), and the Raiders are one of three teams with a 100-yard receiver in every game this season.Los Angeles is more balanced. Melvin Gordon leads the AFC in yards from scrimmage (475) and first downs (25), and backup RB Austin Ekeler is averaging 8.6 scrimmage yards, tops for his position. Philip Rivers likes facing the Silver and Black having thrown 41 TDs vs. the Raiders, tied with Denver for his most against any opponent.New York Giants (1-3) at Carolina (2-1)Look for the Panthers to get off to a running start coming off their bye. They are No. 1 in rushing offense and the Giants are No. 29 in run defense. Panthers RB Christian McCaffrey is coming off a 28-carry, 184-yard performance against Cincinnati.New York doesn't score much despite two dynamic performers — WR Odell Beckham Jr. and second overall draft choice RB Saquon Barkley. But the rookie can become the third NFL player with at least 100 yards from scrimmage in his first five games, joining Adrian Peterson and Kareem Hunt.Green Bay (2-1-1) at Detroit (1-3)Aaron Rodgers is 13-3 against Detroit, but to win this one he might turn to his running game with his backfield banged up. The Lions rank last against the run, and Green Bay has a three-pronged attack.Although rookie Kerryon Johnson has spurred a decent running game for the Lions, they probably will concentrate on Matthew Stafford throwing to WRs Golden Tate, Marvin Jones and Kenny Golladay — the first trio of NFL teammates with 50-plus yards receiving each in five straight games played together.Tennessee (3-1) at Buffalo (1-3)Coming off a spectacular rally to beat defending Super Bowl champion Philadelphia, the Titans are riding high. Expected to be potent rushing the ball, they've been so-so. But Marcus Mariota finished 30 of 43 for 344 yards and two touchdowns, plus a TD rushing against the Eagles, and Tennessee converted three fourth-down plays, one by penalty in overtime. The Bills got back to looking inept at Green Bay after that shocking win at Minnesota. They were shut out for first time since 2008 and had 145 yards offense, matching their fewest since a 40-7 loss at Chicago in 2006.Dallas (2-2) at Houston (1-3)Not exactly Santa Anna vs. Davy Crockett at the Alamo, this Texas showdown looks more like a skirmish. The Texans were ballyhooed as a club ready to rise as they got back the likes of J.J. Watt and Deshaun Watson. The first time they rose was last Sunday at Indianapolis, and they needed overtime and a gamble by Colts coach Frank Reich that backfired to get their lone victory.Dallas got its offense on track in beating Detroit and faces a mediocre pass defense. Problem is, the Cowboys rank 30th in passing and workhorse running back Zeke Elliott might be their primary receiver Limited Troy Hill Jersey , too.Since the Texans won their NFL debut against the Cowboys in 2002, Dallas has taken the next three meetings.Denver (2-2) at New York Jets (1-3)Both sides got off to nice starts in 2018 and now are struggling.New York has little offensive flair behind rookie QB Sam Darnold, which was to be expected. He'll face another difficult defense that can pressure the quarterback: Denver has 10 sacks, four by All-Pro Von Miller. The Broncos can run the ball with a pair of solid rookies, Phillip Lindsay and Royce Freeman, but Case Keenum has three touchdown passes and twice as many picks.Arizona (0-4) at San Francisco (1-3)This would seem a good spot for the Cardinals to eliminate that zero in the win column, the only team owning one. But the Niners, despite losing QB Jimmy Garoppolo, showed plenty of fight in their loss to the more talented Chargers. While the overall league is scoring at a record pace, Arizona has 37 points. Through four weeks, 13 teams had scored at least 37 points in a game. The Los Angeles Rams were still reeling from the mass shooting less than five miles from their training complex when wildfires consumed the nearby hills, forcing a canceled practice and the evacuation of many players and coaches from their homes. At the close of a horrific week in Thousand Oaks, a comeback victory over the Seattle Seahawks somehow seemed both more trivial and even sweeter to these resilient Rams.Brandin Cooks rushed for a 9-yard touchdown with 5:49 to play on the first snap after Dante Fowler forced and recovered a fumble by Russell Wilson, and the Rams bounced back from their first loss of the season with a 36-31 victory Sunday.Jared Goff was forced from his home during the week, but he passed for 318 yards and two touchdowns as the Rams (9-1) swept the season series with their division rivals."It's just been a tough week for the whole city, the whole area up there," Goff said of the Rams' weekday hometown, one hour northwest of downtown Los Angeles. "Hoping today provided a little bit of joy and regularity for those people."Todd Gurley rushed for 120 yards and a score as Los Angeles moved into commanding position for its second consecutive NFC West title, but only after plenty of late drama in a rivalry that's never lacking in excitement.Gerald Everett and Tyler Higbee caught TD passes for the Rams, who survived a topsy-turvy game with just enough big plays. Although the perfect season ended last week in New Orleans, Los Angeles still has never lost back-to-back games under coach Sean McVay."It means a lot, (because) there's a lot of tragedy that's been going on," said Aaron Donald, who had 2陆 sacks of Wilson after evacuating his family during the week. "We've all been affected by it. We had to move ourselves, so to win a game like this, a divisional game Robert Woods Jersey , we're trying to give people something to smile about."Fowler, the pass-rush specialist acquired from Jacksonville late last month, made up for his costly unsportsmanlike conduct penalty in the third quarter by stripping Wilson of the ball and then recovering the fumble, setting up Cooks' run for a 12-point lead.Wilson threw three touchdown passes, rushed for 92 yards and nearly rallied the Seahawks (4-5) all the way back after his fumble.Wilson hit Mike Davis for a short TD catch to cap a 90-yard drive with 1:56 to play. After the Seattle defense held, he got the Seahawks to the Los Angeles 35 before throwing four straight incompletions in the final minute."I think the whole stadium was nervous on that last drive, (but) it didn't work out," Wilson said.Wilson also threw TD passes to Nick Vannett and Tyler Lockett , but the Seahawks have lost two straight after winning four of five.Seattle took the lead with Lockett's TD catch in the third quarter, but only because their drive was kept alive by an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty against Fowler after a third-down stop."I knew I had to go out there and redeem myself," Fowler said.RUNAWAY LOSSRashaad Penny rushed for 108 yards and a touchdown in the injury absence of Chris Carson for the Seahawks., who had 273 yards rushing at the Coliseum after racking up 190 yards on the ground in their 33-31 loss to the Rams last month in Seattle. "On this day, we went nose to nose," Seattle coach Pete Carroll said. "That's a statement to guys running the football. That's the whole thing fitting together."GURLEY'S GAINSGurley scored his NFL-leading 17th touchdown in the second quarter on a 17-yard run. He also scored a TD in his franchise-record 13th consecutive game, extending his franchise record. He is the fourth player in league history to score a TD in each of his team's first 10 games.SACK MACHINEDonald has a career-high 12陆 sacks already this season. He teamed up with Ndamukong Suh for a huge third-down sack at the Los Angeles 15 in the fourth quarter, forcing Seattle to kick a field goal.BIG GIFTRams left tackle Andrew Whitworth is donating his game check to the Ventura County Community Foundation's Conejo Valley Victims Fund, which was set up to help the families of the 12 people killed Wednesday night by a gunman in Thousand Oaks, the home of the Rams' training complex. The Rams held a moment of silence before the game.INJURIESSeahawks: Carson sat out with a hip injury, while starting right guard D.J. Fluker missed the game with a calf injury.Rams: Receiver Cooper Kupp went down in the fourth quarter holding his left knee, which sidelined him earlier this season. McVay said the injury "doesn't look good right now."UP NEXTSeahawks: A short week to host the Green Bay Packers on Thursday.Rams: One of the biggest games of the regular season against the Kansas City Chiefs in Mexico City on Monday, Nov. 19.
The Saints continue to have injuries in their offensive line Authentic Sam Mills Jersey , creating the need for offensive linemen. To that end, the team brought back offensive tackles Cornelius Lucas and Derek Newton, t guard Larry Warford (knee) and swing tackle Jermon Bushrod (hamstring) sat out Wednesday’s practice, and right tackle Ryan Ramczyk (shoulder) was limited. With nothing on the line Sunday, the Saints likely rest some of their offensive linemen. That means Lucas and Newton could play. That also means quarterback Drew Brees likely won’t play much, if at all, behind a makeshift offensive line.Lucas, 27, signed with the Saints last week but lasted only two days as the team needed his roster spot for Ted Ginn Jr.He has played in 36 career games, 35 with Detroit from 2014-16 and one with the Rams last season.Newton Limited Rickey Jackson Jersey , 31, spent nine days in New Orleans earlier this month. He was cut to make room for Lucas on Dec. 20.He was inactive for one game. The Saints cut defensive back Josh Robinson and defensive lineman Mitchell Loewen to make room for the offensive linemen. No matter how much New Orleans' defense may have improved since this season's opening week, linebacker Alex Anzalone doesn't see the benefit in dismissing as irrelevant the 48 points the Saints surrendered in a Week 1 loss to the Buccaneers."In the back of our minds, if anything, it's just motivation to be on your Ps and Qs this week," Anzalone said this week, as New Orleans prepared for the rematch in Tampa Bay. "They do have a really good offense. They have a bunch of play makers, so we know what they're capable of. There's a lot of motivation for this game, but as a defense, that could definitely be one of them."In Week 1, New Orleans' busted coverages led to a 529-yard day for the Buccaneers' offense Willie Roaf Jersey Salute to Service , highlighted by touchdown passes of 58 and 36 yards to DeSean Jackson and 50 yards to Mike Evans. Tampa Bay's offense accounted 41 points, with one Buccaneers TD coming on safety Justin Evans' fumble return.Yet the Saints defense that was on the field that day scarcely resembles the one playing practically lights out for the past month. The Saints have held each of their last four foes to between 7 and 17 points."That's huge in this league when you can hold a team to under 20 points, especially with the offense we've got," Saints defensive tackle Sheldon Rankins said. "I'm going to bet on us most times."Confidence is surging. Botched assignments are few. Sacks and turnovers have risen sharply. New Orleans has sacked opposing QBs 13 times in the past two games, during which they've also taken the ball away six times."It's been impressive," Saints coach Sean Payton said. "As a coach, you're encouraged because we're receiving good end play, but we're also receiving great tackle play and I think inside we've really been able to push the pocket."Those recent performances have made New Orleans' season-opening stumble look more like ancient history."That was a lot of first-game errors that we had to work out," Anzalone said. "It wasn't necessarily who we were as a defense. It was just something that we weren't locked in enough or didn't execute enough to get the job done."Rankins, a first round draft choice in 2016, is having arguably his best season with seven sacks. Five of his sacks have come since Week 8. Like the rest of the Saints defense Drew Brees Jersey , he did not have a sack in Week 1.If the Bucs study game video from their previous meeting, Rankins said, they'll see the same scheme New Orleans us using now, but vastly different execution."With the way we've been playing, I think they're going to have to try to attack us in a different way," he said.Buccaneers coach Dirk Koetter said he sees a Saints defense that has "evolved," both in terms of young players improving as well as with some key personnel changes, such as a mid-season trade to bring in cornerback Eli Apple from the New York Giants. Apple quickly took over as starter in place of Ken Crawley."Their defense is playing pretty well at this time, all the way across," Koetter said.If New Orleans' defense has been consistent in one area, it has been against the run. The Saints have been near the top of the NFL in that department all season and rank first through 12 games Mark Ingram Jersey , and that's not simply because opponents are choosing to pass more against them, Koetter said."They're playing with the lead a lot, and teams are throwing the ball," Koetter began. "Still, when you watch the tape you go, 'Man these guys are pretty good against the run.' I think their front seven is really playing hard."Notes: WR Michael Thomas practiced fully on Thursday after resting his sore ankle on Wednesday. ... Packers place Jake Ryan & CJ Johnson on IR and sign free agent running back On Monday Cheap JK Scott Jersey , the Green Bay Packers made official a roster move that had been expected for about a week.h a few days to go before their preseason opener. The first and most notable transaction was to place inside linebacker Jake Ryan on injured reserve. Ryan, a prospective starter at one of the inside spots, tore his ACL in practice last Monday and will miss the entire 2018 season. Because this was the final year of his rookie contract, he is scheduled to be an unrestricted free agent in the spring.Ryan was not alone in heading to IR, though; the Packers also sent fellow linebacker C.J. Johnson to injured reserve. Johnson was an undrafted free agent rookie who signed with the Packers out of East Texas Baptist University. Johnson has been sidelined recently with a hamstring issue; this may be a precursor to the team releasing him with an injury settlement. In addition to the two IR moves, the Packers made a swap on the active roster as well. The team released guard Ethan Cooper after keeping him on the roster for a little less than a month. Cooper was acquired on waivers from the New York Giants in mid-July. To fill that spot, the team signed running back Akeem Judd, who is in his second year out of college, where he played for Ole Miss.Judd is a relatively stocky running back with decent speed; at Ole Miss’ Pro Day in 2017 he measured in at 5-foot-10-3/4 and 225 pounds and ran the 40-yard dash in a reported 4.54 seconds. In two years with the Rebels, Judd recorded 242 carries for 1251 yards (5.2 yards per carry) and nine touchdowns http://www.thepackersfootballauthentic.com/bryan-bulaga-jersey-authentic , plus 24 receptions for 160 yards (6.7-yard average) and another score. Judd started his college career at Georgia Military College before becoming one of the top junior college recruits in the country for 2014.After initially signing with the Tennessee Titans as an undrafted rookie last spring, Judd was placed on injured reserve after training camp and was waived with an injury settlement a month later. He spent about six weeks on the New York Jets’ practice squad before being promoted to the active roster in mid-December, but he did not dress on gameday. Judd joins a Packers running back corps that currently is without one of its most explosive players in Aaron Jones, who has not practiced in some time with a hamstring issue. Jones is also suspended for the first two games of the 2018 season. New York Giants general manager Dave Gettelman is cleaning house. He began a fire sale on Tuesday by trading away cornerback Eli Apple, a first-round draft pick in 2016, to the New Orleans Saints for fourth- and seventh-round draft picks. On Wednesday morning, he kept at it, this time dealing one of the Giants’ very best defensive players. Nose tackle Damon Harrison is on the move, and unfortunately for fans of the Green Bay Packers, he’s headed to the NFC North. The Detroit Lions have acquired Harrison in exchange for just a fifth-round draft pick, according to reporting from NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.Harrison broke into the NFL with the New York Jets as an undrafted free agent out of William Penn University then signed a five-year contract worth about $46 million with the Giants in 2016. In his first year with the G-Men Womens Lane Taylor Jersey , Harrison was named first-team All-Pro at nose tackle. That year, he recorded 2.5 sacks and a forced fumble while tallying an whopping 86 total tackles, including six for losses.Trading Harrison now will cost the Giants $1.6 million in dead money on this year’s salary cap and will shove $3.2 million more in dead money on their cap in 2019. That will leave him with a cap hit of just $7 million for the Lions next year and $9.25 million in the final year of his contract in 2020.The Lions’ depth chart at defensive tackle had been fairly thin, with just three players listed: former Bronco Sylvester Williams, who is in Detroit on a one-year, $3.5 million contract, 2016 second-round draft pick A’Shawn Robinson, and journeyman Ricky Jean-Francois, a former Packer. Harrison appears to be an immediate upgrade over any of those players and should see significant snaps immediately in Detroit. The Packers will play the Lions next in week 17, closing out the regular season against them at Lambeau Field.
e a Buffalo Bills rookie. Two players are full-time starters Youth Jordan Poyer Jersey , two more are rotational players who play roughly half the snaps on any given day, and two rookie receivers have carved out smaller roles as contributors to the offense. The team also has a few more first-year players marinating on their roster as weekly inactives or special-teams contributors.Do any of these players look like they could push for a Rookie of the Year award? Last year, Tre’Davious White was the second-place finisher behind Marshon Lattimore in a race that was closer than the final tally indicated. Could a Buffalo Bill break through for the win this year? Here are the best options:Tremaine EdmundsBuffalo’s first-round pick is the most likely candidate to have a chance at rookie of the year. Through five games, he’s notched 38 combined tackles (fourth among rookies), gotten his hands on five passes, forced two fumbles, and added a sack. That still puts him at roughly fourth or fifth place among the current candidates. Los Angeles Chargers rookie safety Derwin James probably leads the pack, with six passes defended, an interception, three sacks, and 31 combined tackles. Also up there is athletic Indianapolis Colts linebacker Darius Leonard, who currently leads the league in tackles, as well as all rookies in sacks (4) and tackles-for-loss (7). The Cleveland Browns’ fourth overall pick Denzel Ward rounds out the tops three with three picks, a forced fumble, six passes defended, and 25 combined tackles.Taron JohnsonJohnson sits far back in the discussion. Still, with his current tendency for splash plays Buffalo Bills Hats , he’s a dark horse to follow in the race. Johnson has a sack and forced fumble of Aaron Rodgers on his resume, and landed his first career interception last weekend. Slot cornerbacks are rarely recognized for high-impact play, but if Johnson continues his solid tackling and flashes of ball skills, he could start climbing the ladder.Harrison PhillipsBuffalo’s third-round rookie shouldn’t be expected to win the DRoY award with his current stats, but he hasn’t had a poor season by any measure. Phillips has ten tackles on the season, two of them for losses, and he’s delivered most of his work as a rotational backup who controls gaps and stops runs at the line of scrimmage. When the Bills have sought a pass rush impact from between the tackles, they’re sending more speedy players like Shaq Lawson and Lorenzo Alexander, right now.Josh AllenAllen is Buffalo’s only noteworthy rookie on offense, and his performance wouldn’t qualify him as a finalist for ORoY. With two passing touchdowns against five interceptions, even his solid rushing totals (31 attempts for 135 yards and three touchdowns) don’t really help his case—except in fantasy football. None of the rookie quarterbacks, except maybe Baker Mayfield, have played consistently well through the first five games of the season, so at least Bills fans can take comfort in that.Giants running back Saquon Barkley is the current front-runner, with 71 carries for 308 yards and three touchdowns, plus 31 receptions for 274 yards and two touchdowns. Phillip Lindsey—with 57 carries for 328 yards and one touchdown, plus eight receptions for 65 yards and one receiving touchdown—is near the top of the list Buffalo Bills Hoodie , as is Calvin Ridley, who leads all rookies in receiving yards and touchdowns with 19 receptions for 302 yards and six touchdowns.Buffalo Bills fantasy football opponent preview, week 5: Taywan Taylor time The Tennessee Titans travel to Orchard Park this week to take on a Buffalo Bills team coming off a bad loss last Sunday. The Titans are coming off a big overtime win, and at 3-1 overall, they are one of the surprisingly strong teams of the early season. With a lopsided matchup on paper, the Titans will definitely be popular plays this week in fantasy football. Buffalo is a tough home draw, but there are certainly players from the Titans’ roster worth starting this week.Titans D/STOne week after the Green Bay Packers defense scored the most points of any D/ST in fantasy football, the Titans’ stop unit will definitely be a popular pickup on most fantasy football waiver wires. Green Bay gave teams a solid blueprint to disrupting Josh Allen—bring lots of pressure—and the Bills abandoned the run far too early. If the Titans can pressure Allen and score some points early, then Sunday might yield a similar result.WR Taywan TaylorAfter the release of veteran Rishard Matthews, Taylor was bound to see an uptick in targets. He had 10 targets combined in the first three games of the season, but in the fourth week, he saw 9 targets. He caught 7 passes for 77 yards in the victory. Buffalo has allowed a lot of points to the receiver that Tre’Davious White isn’t covering, and that trend should continue this week.QB Marcus MariotaTennessee’s signal caller had a resurgent game last week, throwing for 330 yards and 2 touchdowns in the Titans’ overtime victory. He scored 31.4 fantasy points on the week. While he might not see the same level of success this week against Buffalo, a more level day of around 20 points is not out of the question for Mariota.
linebacker Khalil Mack. There's plenty of film to watch. The rest of that Chicago defense is pretty good Limited Troy Hill Jersey , too.Now Green Bay must face the NFC's top-ranked unit on the road on Sunday, a week after Chicago tripped up the high-octane Los Angeles Rams at Soldier Field."You don't have to go on and rant about how good Khalil is and all that stuff. Everybody knows who Khalil Mack is for a reason," said Spriggs, who started last week for veteran Bryan Bulaga. "I think he brings a level of confidence to everybody on the defense, and we just have to key on that and make hay when we get the chances."The right side of the Packers' line could especially be a pressure point if Spriggs, a third-year player, starts again. Bulaga missed practice again Wednesday with a knee injury.Justin McCray appears to have taken over the right guard spot after starter Byron Bell (knee) went on injured reserve Wednesday. McCray started last week. Another backup, Lucas Patrick, started at left guard for Lane Taylor, who has a foot injury. The results for Green Bay's backup-littered line were encouraging last week against Atlanta in a victory that snapped a three-game losing streak and kept slim playoff hopes alive. After allowing four sacks in the first half, the Packers (5-7-1) didn't allow one the rest of the game. Aaron Rodgers and the offense were effective throwing quick, short passes in winning Joe Philbin's debut as interim head coach and offensive play caller."I wouldn't say the concepts were basic, but I thought the flow was really good Robert Woods Jersey ," Rodgers said. "Joe did a great job. The communication was great on the sideline and the flow was good and kind of got into a rhythm."Philbin has made it a point to mostly stick to the same routines the Packers had under fired predecessor Mike McCarthy. While it's difficult to go through a coaching change, players have said that they appreciate the relatively smooth transition."I mean, he kind of fit into the role pretty seamlessly," left tackle David Bakhtiari said. "He's done a great job adding his spin to it, yet keeping kind of the integrity of the schedule, so it's not completely different after having guys who were used to something for so long."So overall it's been pretty fluid, even in the first week," he added. There is no sense changing things up so dramatically when it will be a tough enough task to hold off the Bears. The Packers, though, do have an intangible going into Sunday that the Rams lacked: Green Bay has won eight straight at Soldier Field. The run started with Green Bay's victory in the NFC title game on Jan. 23, 2011.There's also a confidence boost that comes with the Packers' stirring rally in the season opener in September, scoring 21 points in the fourth quarter for a 24-23 win over Chicago. The game marked Mack's debut with the Bears following his trade from the Oakland Raiders.Rodgers returned at halftime from a left knee injury to add to the drama The Packers went no-huddle in the second half of that game, though Rodgers stayed primarily in the pocket. It was the Packers' offense at its best."I mean getting into a rhythm Andrew Whitworth Jersey Salute to Service , not only just as an offensive line, but just as an offense in general," Bakhtiari said about the key takeaway from that night.Rodgers is healthier now with the ability to scramble out of trouble again. Mack, who has 10 sacks and six forced fumbles, has the benefit playing nearly an entire season in the Bears' scheme. The linebacker has been mainly lining up on the right side of the defense in recent weeks, though he can easily switch sides.Respect Mack and be prepared. But don't get caught up in the star power, Spriggs said."You can't go out there and be like you're blocking God," Spriggs said. "But at the same time, you give respect where respect's due."NOTES: Taylor was limited in practice Wednesday. ... DL Kenny Clark (elbow) and CB Bashaud Breeland (groin/not injury related) missed practice.Ndamukong Suh wants to crush Sam Bradford and the Cardinals’ QB thinks it’s great Ndamukong Suh - for many St. Louis/Los Angeles Rams fans - has always been the guy the Rams passed on in the 2010 NFL Draft. They instead opted to select Sam Bradford with the No. 1 overall pick. And for Suh, it’s not something he’s inclined to forget. Earlier in the offseason, Suh told the “Around the NFL” podcast that a matchup against Bradford is something he always circles on his calendar. And Suh intends on putting his money, which he’s made quite a bit of, where his mouth is. He wants to get to Bradford and take out a bit of the disappointment thats lingered for over eight years.Bradford Authentic John Johnson Jersey , on the surface, doesn’t appear to be fazed by the talk. Earlier this week, the Cardinals’ QB was asked about Suh’s comments. He thinks it’s swell. Suh and Bradford have met three times since being drafted in 2010 and the Rams’ defensive tackle has sacked their former No. 1 overall pick twice. Suh has one interception in his career — picking off Sam Bradford on Oct. 10, 2010. The Cardinals’ offensive line is having to shuffle a few players around on Sunday. Andre Smith, the team’s starting right tackle, is out (elbow) and will be replaced by John Wetzel. This will be the second career start for rookie center Mason Cole.If there were ever a day to exact revenge, make a point, or whatever it is Suh is trying to accomplish, that day would be Sept. 16, 2018.
improbable fashion will help his team the rest of the season.Harbaugh praised his team's performance against New Orleans — with the possible exception of one missed kick.Playing without two starting offensive linemen and with standout cornerback Marlon Humphrey watching from the sideline on Sunday A.J. Klein Jersey Salute to Service , the Ravens limited Drew Brees to 212 yards passing and scored the potential game-tying touchdown with 24 seconds left by virtue of a six-play, 81-yard drive engineered deftly by quarterback Joe Flacco. Then, with overtime looming, Justin Tucker's seemingly automatic conversion sailed to the right . He was previously 222 for 222 since turning pro in 2012.The 24-23 defeat dropped Baltimore (4-3) out of a first-place tie in the AFC North with a matchup at Carolina upcoming Sunday."Our guys played very well," Harbaugh said Monday. "Many of the things that we learned in this last game, we can apply to the rest of the season. And we're going to try to do that and make the game a positive in that sense."At kickoff, the wind was blowing at 15 mph. Tucker didn't use that as an excuse, though that might have been a factor in his unexpected misfire."The wind was definitely part of it," Harbaugh insisted. "But at the end of the day, it's a missed kick."Tucker couldn't deny that."I feel like I cost us the game," he said Sunday night. "Every single one of my teammates thus far has told me the opposite, and no one play wins or loses a game. But that's a tough thing to grapple with when you're the guy in that situation at the end of the game."Harbaugh considered for a moment going for a 2-point conversion, but dismissed the notion because the plan all along was to kick the ball in that situation."The numbers say to put it in overtime. That's what the analytics say. It's a clear choice," Harbaugh said. "We have a Saturday morning meeting where we go through all those factors, and we had decided we would put it in overtime if it came to that."But you know, I had thoughts about going for 2. I was asked that, I thought about it. Your gut sometimes talks to you and you make a decision at the end based on that. At the end, I decided to go with what we talked about doing."One reason the Ravens are tough in overtime is because Tucker is the most accurate field goal kicker in NFL history and is 36 for 50 over his career from at least 50 yards out.Give Baltimore credit for getting in position to tie the game in the final minute, in part because the offensive line was thinned by injuries to Alex Lewis and James Hurst. Rookies Bradley Bozeman and Orlando Brown Jr. saw extensive action, and through it all Flacco was sacked only once."I thought they acquitted themselves very well," Harbaugh said of Bozeman and Brown. "Both of them will learn from it. I think they'll get a lot better because of the game experience they had and the speed of the game and all that. It was a positive in that sense."A victory would have given the Ravens sole possession of first place in the division. But who's to say they would have won in overtime?"It's one of these games that could've went either way," Flacco said. "There's no sense in putting your head down and crying about stuff like this. You just have to move on."The Ravens don't intend to let the loss define their season."We're not feeling sorry for ourselves. We fell one point short," said linebacker Terrell Suggs, who had the team's lone sack of Brees. "We've got the best kicker in ball, so we're not going to worry about that. We go back to the drawing board Authentic Marshon Lattimore Jersey , get over this one quick, learn from your mistakes and get ready for Carolina."If that game comes down to a kick from Tucker in the closing seconds, there is a good chance he won't be thinking about his miss against the Saints."Justin's the best in the world at what he does, and he's the most confident person that I know," Flacco said. "It's not going to be an issue." The New Orleans Saints are closer to getting back their second-highest-paid offensive player as they try to rebound from a first loss in more than two months 鈥?and lock down a playoff berth.Starting left tackle Terron Armstead returned to practice Wednesday, marking his first time in pads since his pectoral injury at Cincinnati in Week 10. The injury cost Armstead three games, including New Orleans' loss last Thursday night in Dallas, when the Cowboys' defensive line consistently pressured quarterback Drew Brees and limited the Saints' ground game to 65 yards 鈥?the fewest since Week 2."He's a difference maker for sure and big confidence when he's there on the left side," Brees said of Armstead, who has been a starter since late in his rookie season in 2013, but who also has been beset by various injuries much of his career.Armstead, listed as "limited" on the club's practice report Wednesday, said his recovery has been "going pretty well" and that he might be ready to play Sunday against Tampa Bay."Time away, that's never great. You get in a rhythm so much with your guys up front 鈥?my technique, my timing 鈥?so that will be a learning curve and adjustment," Armstead said, adding he at least hopes the rest of his body benefited from recent rest as high-stakes games approach."I've been battling injuries for a long time, so definitely hard to find positives in an injury for me," Armstead said. "But just thinking of it ... my body definitely has some things, some bumps and bruises, and I took the time and benefited off of it for sure. But I would much rather have been playing."Right guard Larry Warford said Armstead's return to practice was good for morale, even if it's not yet clear when he'll be ready."I'm just happy that it seems that he's making progress," Warford said. "He's one of the best, if not the best, left tackle in the league. Unfortunately Limited Marcus Williams Jersey , he's had injuries hinder him throughout his career."The Saints would win the NFC South with one more victory, or a loss by Carolina, who New Orleans plays twice in the final three weeks of the regular season. Whether the Saints remain in contention for one of the coveted top two seeds in the conference and receive a first-round bye, depends on how they respond to their first loss since Week 1.In New Orleans' locker room, players predicted that the 13-10 loss in Dallas, which halted a 10-game winning streak, was more likely a brief stumble than the beginning of a slump."Sometimes you have to lose a battle to win the war and you learn a lot from something like that," Brees said. "I just think we had a bad day. You turn on the film and it's glaringly obvious where we failed and we have to make sure that doesn't happen again."On New Orleans' defense, confidence is surging after a seven-sack, two-takeaway performance in Dallas that also marked the fourth straight game holding an opponent to 17 or fewer points.Against the Cowboys, the Saints' normally prolific offense was the unit which struggled most. But since offense-minded coach Sean Payton and Brees joined forces in New Orleans in 2006, that side of the ball rarely has stagnated for more than a rare game.Brees said the opportunity to clinch the NFC South for the second straight year is "significant," and would be a "first step" toward more lofty postseason goals. He said the Saints' commanding four-game lead in the division with four games left speaks to the quality of football they played during their winning streak, when they became the only team to beat the Los Angeles Rams and won several other games by wide margins."That was a great run. We gained a ton of confidence, a ton of momentum," Brees said. "We had a ton of guys step up and play really well 鈥?guys that we're going to need down the stretch."We really established an identity for ourselves as an offense and a defense," Brees added. "We know how to play winning football."NOTES: Saints leading receiver Michael Thomas did not practice Wednesday and his ankle was cited as the reason on the club's injury report. However, he was present at practice and the Saints regularly err on the side of resting top-performing veterans when they have soreness, particularly early in the week. ... In addition to Armstead, DT David Onyemata (hip) and right tackle Ryan Ramczyk (shoulder) were listed as limited in practice. ... Fullback Zach Line, who left the game in Dallas with a concussion, was able to practice fully. Custom Washington Redskins Jerseys
The Packers run too often on 2nd- or 3rd-and-long Womens Customized Green Bay Packers Jerseys , but no one was happy with the offense and with good reason. Six of those 22 points came on long field goals, and McCarthy seemed to settle for another long field goal attempt on the first drive, though Jamaal Williams was unable to gain sufficient yardage on a third-down play to try it.McCarthy settles a lot, and that’s becoming big problem because it costs the team possessions. There are two major philosophies about picking up first downs. The first, older philosophy captures the NFL standard for most of the 1980s and 90s, which holds that first and second downs are to be used to make 3rd down easier.A few four-yards runs on the early downs will give the team flexibility to either run or pass on 3rd and short, making for an easy conversion. The new philosophy holds that offenses are now so good (and defenses so restrained) that it’s more efficient to give yourself as many opportunities as possible to gain ten yards on an individual passing play, and that the vast majority of the time, any quarterback will complete a 10-yard pass before they are forced to punt. While you do need to run sometimes, just to prove that you might, the latter philosophy is far closer to optimal. We know that, on first down, a successful play must pick up at least 4 yards, and in reality that number is probably closer to 5. Your subsequent 2nd and 3rd down plays are really only successful if they pick up the first down, which means that if your first down play fails and leaves you with six yards to go or more, running is almost always a bad idea because runs don’t generally pick up big yardage. Smart teams know this. For instance, let’s look at the Rams www.packerscheapshoponline.com , who are currently the cream of the crop in terms of football smarts. On 2nd or 3rd down, with 6 yards or more to go, and when the game is within one score, the Rams have passed 87% of the time. They have only run in this situation four times all season. It’s just not something they do. In the aggregate, their plays have been successful 52% of the time, while their passing plays have been successful 60% of the time. The Packers, on the other hand, still strive for balance in these scenarios. They have passed only 68% of the time and run 32% of the time. Those runs have only succeeded 1/3 of the time, and overall in these situations, the Packers only succeed 38% of the time. We tend to focus on 3rd down efficiency, but the Packers are basically pissing away plays and drives every time they do this. Despite the fact that the Packers have an all-time great quarterback, only seven teams pass less than the Packers in this situation, which is insane. On their first drive against the Bills, the Packers faced 2nd and 10 from the Buffalo 40-yard line. Either McCarthy or Rodgers called a run to Jamaal Williams, the worst Packer runner, that lost a yard. Incredibly, on 3rd and 11 Green Bay Packers T-Shirt , they went back to the same well, and Williams was stoned for no gain. Even if Williams hadn’t been completely stuffed, the best case scenario for those play calls was a slightly shorter but still long field goal attempt, which is hardly an ideal outcome. It is these pointless plays and drives that seems designed specifically to not score, which cause the offense such problems. The Packers then did this again in the 3rd quarter when up 19-0. The team faced 3rd and 10 and called a run to Ty Montgomery, which was stuffed for a loss of one. The Packers were forced to punt from their own 18, and the defense was fortunate to preserve the shutout. The fact of the matter is that smart teams don’t operate this way. They pass more frequently and with more success when a first down is still in doubt. The actual plays that were called against the Bills were not half bad, and the second drive of the game — which resulted in a touchdown — was a thing of beauty. But the problems with the offense are deeper than individual play design. They show a fundamental lack of football understanding. McCarthy’s focus on execution has always been about the trees, but much of the rest of the NFL now runs a hyper-efficient forest, and Mike just doesn’t see it.Three overlooked numbers that have contributed to the Packers’ slow start With a quarter of the season already in the books after this weekend’s slate of games, the Green Bay Packers are entering a crucial three-game stretch before their bye week. An organization that underwent a thorough cleaning of house on the coaching staff in the offseason must re-energize a team that has looked largely confused and out-coached through the first three games of the regular season. Adjustments to the game plan are especially needed in light a few concerning figures affecting the team’s all-around performance in the early going, especially among one of the team’s impressive units a season ago. Here are three numbers that Green Bay must address immediately against Buffalo this week.0The number of catches Marcedes Lewis has recorded through the first three games of his Packers career. When Green Bay signed the veteran tight end in the offseason, there were visions of an increase in 12-personnel sets. A praised run blocker, Lewis was expected to bring stability in that respect while increasing the offense’s productivity in short-yardage and goal line sets. So far, any ideas of Lewis becoming an integral part of the offense have been far-fetched. The Packers haven’t used 12 personnel formations with regularity and Lance Kendricks has totaled far more snaps than Lewis. Meanwhile, Lewis has just one target in a mere 23 snaps over three games. Green Bay has struggled in key third-and-short opportunities, and a big-bodied tight end that can block and catch would seem to be a logical weapon in these situations. Here’s hoping that Green Bay finds a way to employ Lewis sooner rather than later.32Football Outsiders’ ranking of Green Bay’s defensive line according to “adjusted line yards” and “stuffed percentage.”The defensive line was starting to be considered as one of the NFL’s best heading into the 2018 season after seeing significant growth from younger players like Kenny Clark and Dean Lowry. However Green Bay Packers Hats , in three contests this season, the line has been far from a strength. The interior of the Packers’ line has been noticeably bullied early in the season and took yet another hit when Muhammad Wilkerson was lost for the season during last Sunday’s game against Washington. Each game has been a regression for the defensive line, which is allowing an average of 124.3 yards rushing per game. It hit a low point last week when 33-year old Adrian Peterson rushed for 120 of the Redskins’ 166 yards on the ground.Furthermore, the stats back up the disappointing nature of the line. Football Outsiders ranks the unit last in the NFL with 5.19 adjusted yards allowed per carry. As a reference, New Orleans tops the list with just 2.95 yards per rush. In addition, the Packers rank dead last thus far in stuffed percentage, the rate at which the defensive line stops ballcarriers either at or behind the line of scrimmage. The Packers do so just 8% of the time, while the NFL’s best unit, Philadelphia, boasts a 35% clip.Green Bay’s defense hasn’t proven it can rush the passer with any consistency. It can’t afford to struggle against the run as well.10The average number of yards the Green Bay offense has needed in order to convert on third down attempts this season.According to Pro Football Reference, the Packers have averaged exactly 10.0 yards to go over 41 third downs faced this season. By comparison, the NFL’s average third down distance in 2018 is 7.23 yards. This stat alone paints a clear picture of just how difficult a predicament Green Bay has created for itself to sustain offensive drives throughout the first three games. While the Packers have gained a little over seven yards per third down attempt, it’s still not enough to earn a new set of downs most of the time.In addition to reducing penalties, the simple answer to improve this trend is to be more effective on first and second downs. The Packers are more than two yards below league average on those downs and rank 30th in the league in rushing attempts, a method of creating manageable third downs. Aaron Jones averaged seven yards per carry last week, yet only received six hand-offs. Green Bay’s most explosive running back must see the field more often this week and help the team’s overall efficiency and time of possession.
season opener against the Baltimore Ravens went somewhat badly. While a lot has been written about starting quarterback Nathan Peterman http://www.billscheapshop.com/cheap-authentic-charles-clay-jersey , it takes more than one person playing poorly to lose by...[scans repressed memories]...oh dear God. Please note; the following analysis came from an intent to review whether the receiving options were getting open, or if they were blanketed all game. This discussion will inherently touch upon the offensive line and of course the quarterback making it more of a team analysis. Because of the nature of this review, completed passes are pretty much ignored (one exception). The reason being that with a completed pass there is an assumption of “someone was open enough.” Play 1Nathan Peterman has a couple of good options and he looks like he’ll pull the trigger. Unfortunately he doesn’t trust anyone enough and pulls the ball back down. There’s likely a little more time if he hangs back instead of stepping into the sack as well. Play 2From what we see, this was intended to be a quick timing pass. The first read is open and Peterman fires it in that direction. Since we’re evaluating the team more globally, had there been more time to develop the play, the line has Peterman protected quite well. At least two other receiving targets came open. There’s quite a bit to like on this snap believe it or not. Play 3The graphics tell most of the story for this play. Kelvin Benjamin is the intended target. While he’s “open” at the end of the play, his route was disrupted quite a bit leading to the incompletion. To defend Peterman, he needs to throw this and trust Benjamin gets to his spot. By the time Benjamin’s route gets blown up it’s too late to decide. We set out to review the ability of the receiving options to get open so let’s finish the play. Every other skill player is open at some point http://www.billscheapshop.com/cheap-authentic-jordan-poyer-jersey , which, again, means there’s more to like than a first glance suggests. (However, if you look closely one player probably wasn’t going to make the catch.)Play 4Evaluating everyone, the protection holds up again. Three receiving options are in great position to make plays, with a fourth potentially open (Kelvin Benjamin). The pass is delivered to the receiver that’s most covered by the defense and the result is an incompletion. Play 5Since we’re all about rubbing salt in our wounds let’s answer our question in truly heartbreaking fashion. Peterman scans the field and again has decent protection. Not liking what he sees, Peterman throws to his wide open safety valve Jeremy Kerley. Meanwhile, Robert Foster’s afterburners force questions of “what if?” Play 6There are several potential receivers who come open during this play. For the graphic I’ve highlighted the two that are in the area Peterman honed in on. Benjamin has a little contact with the defender which slows him down. The throw isn’t even necessarily a bad option as Benjamin was acquired to win situations such as this one. To come back to the original focus http://www.billscheapshop.com/cheap-authentic-jerry-hughes-jersey , it’s easy to see that Jason Croom was open. Play 7The graphic suggests utter failure on the part of Peterman but that shouldn’t be the main takeaway. The GIF is there to answer our question and, undeniably, receivers were open. Jeremy Kerley is a little animated about how open he was in fact. Unlike many of the plays above, the line rapidly breaks down. If the play was designed to have Peterman scan left to right he didn’t have time to progress through his reads to reach Kerley.Against the Ravens, Peterman had 13 incompletions, six of which are highlighted here. I could have kept recording but at this point the original purpose of the analysis has already been answered. The skill positions actually didn’t do badly at all, with plenty of open targets. Play 8To stress that the goal wasn’t to slam Nathan Peterman, here’s a Josh Allen play with similar results. At various times during the play http://www.billscheapshop.com/cheap-authentic-jeremy-kerley-jersey , no less than three receivers are open. Allen has good protection with over three seconds to throw the ball. Allen missed opportunities as well. Play 9One more. The defensive pass interference bails out Josh Allen. Like the Peterman toss above on Play 7, it’s hard to fully blame the quarterback here. Benjamin is supposed to go win these battles. Also like Peterman though, other options were present and the answer remains “yes.” Receivers were getting open. After their disappointing loss to the Green Bay Packers, the Buffalo Bills look to right the ship at home against the Tennessee Titans. The Titans, under new head coach Mike Vrabel, are off to a great start in 2018. They are 3-1 with big division wins over the Jacksonville Jaguars and Houston Texans. Here are three crucial items to watch for as the Bills look to defend their dirt. Will the Bills be able to score? After the shutout in Green Bay, the Bills now rank 31st in the NFL in scoring. On the other sideline, the Titans have allowed the 7th fewest points in the league. It appears that former New England Patriots player and coach Cheap Zay Jones Jersey , and rookie Titans head coach, Mike Vrabel has his defense humming. Can the offensive line get it together? The Bills’ offensive line is ranked 32nd in the league after their week four debacle. The coaches have only made one change to the line this season. They replaced Ryan Groy with Russell Bodine as the starting center in the lead up to the game against the Minnesota Vikings. Will they make any more changes after a brutal game in Green Bay?Injuries in the secondaryThe Bills’ best defensive player, Micah Hyde, left the Packers game in the first quarter and did not return. Hyde and his backup, Rafael Bush, did not participate in practice on Wednesday. Buffalo brought in free agent CB Dontae Johnson to fill the void that may be left by one or both safeties.

With LT Andrew Whitworth back in action, that leaves just K Greg Zuerlein and ILB Mark Barron off the line. Zuerlein will need another couple of weeks at a minimum. As for Barron, there’s been no real sense of his timeline, but last week in the final injury report he was upgraded from OUT to DOUBTFUL. I think the question will be if he can participate tomorrow. Winning at the Clink is never an easy task, but the Seahawks are hurting on defenses, and will be without several key starters on Sunday. Can the Rams exploit a depleted Seahawks defense and move to 5-0 on the year? The Turf Show Times’ staff make their predictions:go rams (@AndrewKulick)No letdownsPrediction: Rams win, 49-10RamBuck (@lannyosu)This feels like a little bit of a trap game: Earl Thomas is out, K.J. Wright is out, the OL can’t block, Pete Carroll is under fire, the fanbase is turning on them, etc. However, this will be at the CLink, with Russell Wilson still a top 10 QB Cooper Kupp Jersey Elite , so we cannot assume it’s going to be an easy game. However, I just don’t see how the Rams’ offense can be stopped right now. Maybe if Goff has to throw left-handed?Prediction: Rams win, 42-27Eddie Perez (@iAmEddieP_)Rams face off against divisional foe Seattle Seahawks. Unlike years past, the Rams will utterly manhandle this entire game. The Seahawks are a mess. Give McBae & the Boys the W.Prediction: Rams win, 45-9Michael Frank (@turfshowtimesmike)Only two things I can believe that would make this game close are Seattle QB Russell Wilson and the Rams taking it easy. From the vibe of Rams DT Michael Brockers and the team it does not seem the Rams take their foot off the peddle on this one. Seattle is in a world win of hurt this season especially after losing their Last Legion of Boom Player in Earl Thomas, Seattle’s talent pool is so low that any scheme they draw up will have to be “Annexation of Puerto Rico” type plays. Only team that can beat the Rams are the Rams.Prediction: Rams win, 38-17Tevin Broner (@T_Bron)I think this game is going to be closer than people expect. The Seahawks are at home and this is basically their early statement game. I could see them attempting to run the ball a lot. Hopefully it’s a blowout win but that seems too easy, especially with the ass-whooping the Seahawks got in their home last year.Prediction: Rams win, 21-17Charlie Hiller (@CharlieHiller)Prayers up for Russell Wilson.Prediction: Rams win, 41-13Eric Nagel (@Eric_nagel)The Seahawks defense is a little better than they are given credit for, but losing Earl Thomas is going to hurt the secondary. I think the Rams are on a roll and the offense is just too talented to stop. Also, if there was ever a time to get the sack game going, this is it.Prediction: Rams win, 31-20Skye Sverdlin (@skyeattolah)It’s a divisional matchup, anything can happen in the NFL, yada yada...no. The Seahawks are just too depleted to compete for more than a quarter or so this week. The Rams love road trips and will be kicking their feet (hooves) up on the Pete Carroll’s coffee table this week. Prediction: Rams win, 37-16Elijah Kim (@Big_EZK)The Rams look to again to best their scoring output for the 5th week in the row. After scoring, 33, 34 Aaron Donald Jersey Elite , 35, and 38 points in consecutive weeks this season, perhaps the Rams look to break 40 points against the Seattle Seahawks, who are now without their best defensive player in S Earl Thomas. After Jared Goff torched the Minnesota Vikings defense last week for 465 yards, the “system QB” looks to build on his strong season. The Rams win big and hold a tighter vice grip on the NFC West.Prediction: Rams win, 41-24kristianramirez (@kristianramirez)The Seahawks are not having a good time this season, and it’s about to get worse. The Rams hype train is stopping in Seattle this Sunday, and they are going to steamroll the Seachickens. Buckle up Rams Fans, it’s going to get real quiet in CenturyLink Field.Prediction: Rams win, 45-9Hotdaddywags (@hotdaddywags)Last year’s 42-7 dismantling of the Seahawks was probably the most thorough beatdown I’ve ever seen in person. Todd Gurley’s house call at the end of the first half left me feeling almost embarrassed for the inebriated and incredulous 12th man. No Thomas, no Kendricks, no KJ and a balky Baldwin and this Hawks team is arguably worse than the one we faced last year. No, you can’t and should never take a proud NFC west rival for granted in their building, but this one’s going to be a bloodbath birdbath. The Rams are firing on all cylinders, and the Seahawks are a Yugo puttering around the streets of San Francisco.Prediction: Rams win, 44-17Brennan Smith (@BrennanJSmith)This is a bizarre new NFL world we live in where the Seahawks roster has gradually become un-intimidating. Bobby Wagner and Russell Wilson are both still extremely talented and can’t be taken lightly, but the other 51 players on game day are collectively a rung below what the Rams roster consists of. The defensive front seven finally had some measurable success against Minnesota and should be able to bully the Hawks’ offensive line and keep Wilson uncomfortable. On the other side of the ball, losing Earl Thomas is a massive blow to Seattle’s hopes of containing the wide receiver hydra of Cooks, Kupp and Woods. The Rams roll in this one.Prediction: Rams win Authentic Todd Gurley Jersey , 35-17Sosa Kremenjas (@QBsMVP)I think this is going to be a blowout. The Rams are way too talented and hot to allow the Seahawks to give them major trouble. I expect Todd Gurley to have a massive day (200+ yards from scrimmage, three touchdowns) and Jared Goff continues his trek to attempting to become the leagues MVP with another 350-yard performance. And oh yeah, that #99, he’ll end the day with three sacks and the defense will allow less than 18 points.Prediction: Rams win, 42-17seattlerams (@seattlerams_nfl)The player generating the most attention in Seattle these days is rookie punter, Michael Dickson. In this respect, I expect the 12’s will have plenty to cheer about in this game. What else is there left to say about this game? The Rams have Sean McVay and the Seahawks don’t.Prediction: Rams win, 34-17joeyaucoin (@LARamsRamsRams)I believe in the Rams so hard right now that I want nothing to do with any hate if I don’t show my faith “enough.” That being said, Rams won’t play perfect against the Seahawks, but it will be enough. Goff throws 9 TDs.Prediction: Rams win, 63-0Sean Wilkinson (@Papa_Lurch)The Rams are rolling and the Seahawks struggled against the Cardinals last week. The game is in Seattle, but I still expect the Rams to roll.Prediction: Rams win, 38-163k (@3k_)Don’t fuss with the salmon too much once it’s on the grill: Let the flesh naturally release from the grate before attempting to turn it. You can also use the marinade for any cut of salmon.Prediction: Rams win, 32-10Brandon Bate (@NoPlanB_)I expect this to be enjoyable to watch, mainly because I expect the Rams to making light work of the Seahawks in their house. Always a good time, if you ask me. Prediction: Rams win 38-13For the third time in five weeks, the entirety of the TST staff is picking the Rams to secure the win.

New Orleans was able to tie things up early in the fourth quarter, but Baltimore would turn in two field goals and preserve their 30-24 December win. This is the first of two big road games for the Saints, as they travel up north to take on the Vikings in Minnesota in a prime time Sunday night showdown. While Drew Brees and Tom Brady continue making history http://www.thesaintsfootballauthentic.com/larry-warford-jersey-authentic , the rookie quarterbacks are making their mark.Brees broke Peyton Manning's record for career passing yards on Monday night and Brady became the third quarterback to throw 500 touchdown passes last Thursday night. Brady is 40 TD passes away from passing Manning for first on the career list. He also is one win away from becoming the first quarterback with 200 regular-season wins.Arizona's Josh Rosen, Buffalo's Josh Allen, Cleveland's Baker Mayfield and the New York Jets' Sam Darnold did their part to prove the NFL should be in good hands in the future. Each player led his team to victory in Week 5, the first time since the merger that rookie QBs were 4-0 or better in a single week. Here's a look inside more numbers going into Week 6:NO AUTOMATICS: Extra points haven't been automatic since the NFL moved the conversion back 13 yards from the 2-yard line to the 15 in 2015. There were 17 in each of the previous two seasons at this point and 18 in 2015.DESHAUN'S QUEST: Deshaun Watson can become the first quarterback to throw for 375 yards or more in four consecutive games when the Houston Texans host Buffalo. Ryan Fitzpatrick did it in the first three games this season. Brady and Hall of Famer Kurt Warner also had three-game streaks. Jacksonville's Blake Bortles has done it in the past two games.KIRK'S IMPACT: Minnesota's Kirk Cousins is the first player in league history to complete at least 30 passes in four consecutive games. Adam Thielen is a recipient of many of those throws. He is the third player with at least 100 yards receiving in each of his team's first five games to start a season.GO-TO GUY: Zach Ertz has been Carson Wentz's go-to receiver since the Eagles quarterback returned from knee surgery. Ertz has at least 10 catches for 100 yards in two straight games. Only four players have ever done it three consecutive weeks.FREE FOOTBALL: At least one game has reached overtime in each of the first five weeks. That hadn't happened before. The Browns have played in three OT games already, going 1-1-1.GREATEST SHOW ON TURF: The Rams are the fifth team to score at least 30 points in each of their first five games to start a season in NFL history. Even days later Authentic Alex Okafor Jersey , Josh Gordon's emotions remain jumbled following his first season-opening game since he was a rookie in 2012.The Browns stopped their 17-game losing streak by tying the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday.Gordon's game. And confusing. He wasn't supposed to start as punishment for missing training camp, but Gordon was on the field for the first offensive play because of a "miscommunication," according to coach Hue Jackson. The most dynamic player on Cleveland's roster, the former Pro Bowler figured to be a major element in the game plan, yet was only targeted three times by quarterback Tyrod Taylor.Gordon did make a leaping touchdown catch in the fourth quarter to tie it 21-all in the fourth quarter, but Taylor missed a chance to connect with the receiver late in regulation — a blown opportunity on a wet field that could have given the Browns their first victory since 2016.It was all so strange, especially the Browns not winning despite forcing six turnovers.Gordon, who has made personal decisions he regrets, can only think about what might have been."Definitely wish some things could just be altered in the course of the game," Gordon said Wednesday as the Browns ramped up preparation for Sunday's game in New Orleans. "But definitely can't look back anymore."Gordon's opener began unexpectedly and stayed that way.Last week, Jackson was adamant that Gordon would not be in the starting lineup against Pittsburgh after he missed more than three weeks of camp to address his personal health during his public battle with drugs and alcohol. Jackson said he was putting his foot down, and Gordon would not get any preferential treatment. But after the Browns forced a Pittsburgh punt and began a drive at their 36, Gordon was lined up to the far left before Taylor dropped back to pass before scrambling for a 6-yard gain.Gordon's appearance on the field led to confusion about whether Jackson had changed his mind or if coordinator Todd Haley was sending a message to his boss.Following the game, Jackson said he wasn't aware that Gordon was in until it was too late, adding another layer of puzzlement to the situation. On Monday, Jackson said starting Gordon was "a mistake" but refused to assign blame and insisted the team had "worked through it. It's done with. We move on."Gordon said he did what he was told and was shocked to start."Yeah," he said. "I was definitely surprised."Just as baffling was that Gordon did not play the rest of the first series or the entire second series — perhaps a delayed penalty. And although Jackson talked about keeping Gordon on a "pitch count" because he hadn't played in any of the four preseason games and was just coming off a hamstring issue Womens Max Unger Jersey , he ended up playing 69 snaps, second only to Jarvis Landry (81) among Cleveland's receivers.Gordon said the coaching staff decided at halftime to play him more than was originally planned. The Browns tried to exploit the Steelers' secondary by using Gordon's speed to stretch the field and create one-on-one matchups. The 27-year-old, who had only played in 10 games since 2014 because of substance-abuse suspensions, said the extra workload was needed."Physically I felt great," he said. "It was good to get that experience and that feeling underneath me, especially an overtime game, the weather and everything. The amount of snaps and reps, it's good for my body to feel that. I feel great now, I felt great during the game. It was just good to see that my motor was at a decent point at that late in the game."Cleveland's entire offense misfired in the opener, but Gordon believes the unit can take a large leap forward in Week 2."We have to," he said. "I think in the NFL, that's the biggest jump for most teams — after that first week. And for us, we've got to take off in a big way."NOTES: Saints star quarterback Drew Brees said Browns rookie QB Baker Mayfield "can be a lot better than me. He's got all the tools. He's more athletic, he probably can run around better, he's got a stronger arm." ... Mayfield shaved off a beard he had been growing since training camp. ... Starting DE Emmanuel Ogbah (ankle) missed practice and is unlikely to play Sunday against the Saints. LB Christian Kirksey was limited by shoulder and ankle issues but should be OK, Jackson said. What a week for Washington Redskins cornerback Josh Norman. There was a benching during a 24-point loss. Criticism from a former teammate. Biting Twitter barbs from an opposing receiver. What better way to cap it all off than a matchup for his Redskins (2-2) on Sunday against Cam Newton and the visiting Carolina Panthers (3-1), the club that abruptly parted with Norman about 2陆 years ago."Old friends. They're coming to town, and I get to see them and go at each other. They know how I am. Trust me. I know how they are. So it's going to be quite an exciting time Authentic DeMario Davis Jersey ," Norman said. "I'm looking forward to them. I know (Newton's) got something special cooked up for us."Norman was coming off an All-Pro season and a Super Bowl appearance when the Panthers put the franchise tag on him in March 2016, a move many figured was a precursor to a long-term deal. Fast-forward six weeks, though, and Carolina rescinded the tag offer, allowing Norman to become an unrestricted free agent.Within a couple of days, he signed a $75 million, five-year contract with Washington. For whatever the reason — and there are various theories out there — things have not gone all that well for Norman, who turns 31 in December and is currently up to 19 games in a row without an interception. The downswing culminated in Washington coach Jay Gruden's decision to play a rookie instead of Norman coming out of halftime during a 43-19 loss at New Orleans on Monday night. Then came all sorts of theories about what might be wrong with Norman, from his age (courtesy of Saints receiver Michael Thomas) to his interest in becoming a celebrity (brought up by ex-Redskins defensive back DeAngelo Hall) to the shift from Carolina's zone coverage to Washington's man-to-man principles (referenced by Panthers coach Ron Rivera).Newton, a friend who participates in Norman's charity volleyball tournament, maintains that QBs still need to be wary of the guy."He's not a person who hesitates to take chances, and that's his gift and his curse," Newton said. "I still go into each and every game pointing out who the impact players are on every defense, and he's definitely one of those players."Here are some things to know about the Panthers and Redskins:COUNT ON CAMA Redskins defense that had zero answers against Drew Brees now goes up against Newton, who is having a so-so season thus far but always comes up big against Washington. The 2015 NFL MVP is 4-0 against the Redskins, with nine TDs and zero INTs, a passer of rating of 115.4 and two rushing scores. "Cam is a beast, man. He can do it all. He can pass. He can run it. He's an extra running back when he's back there Authentic Drew Brees Jersey ," Redskins safety D.J. Swearinger said. "They've got a long list of good playmakers, man. So we've got our hands full."ROLL TIDEDefensive linemen Jonathan Allen and Daron Payne played together at Alabama, were first-round draft picks the past two years, and account for nearly half of Washington's sacks this season. "They are two guys that I never have to worry about: 'Hey, hustle. Hey, run to the ball.' These guys are always playing hard, playing fast, playing physical," Gruden said, "and you can build around those two cats for a long time."BAND IS BACKThe Panthers are hoping to get back three-time Pro Bowl tight end Greg Olsen; he broke his right foot in Week 1. "The band is back," Newton said with a big smile. The QB's favorite target for quite some time, Olsen strung together a trio of 1,000-yard seasons before initially injuring his foot in 2017 and missing nine games. If some wonder whether Olsen might be rushing back, he said: "I wouldn't put myself out there if I couldn't help the team."DAVIS RETURNS, TOOCarolina is counting on linebacker Thomas Davis, who returns from a four-game suspension under the league's policy on performance enhancers to give a big lift to a defense that struggled to pressure the quarterback last week. Davis is the team's all-time leading tackler and joins Luke Kuechly to provide what Gruden called "the best linebacking duo in pro football, in my opinion."AP Sports Writer Steve Reed contributed to this report. Coach John “Bones” Fassel knows how to coach up his special teams players Aaron Donald Jersey Elite , that’s for sure. And this week was no different as Los Angeles Rams Safety Blake Countess was named as the NFC Special Team Player of the Week.Playing double duty, Countess (roster preview) scored his second career touchdown off Cory Littleton’s blocked punt that Blake recovered in the end zone. He also stepped in as the Rams’ returner after JoJo Natson broke his hand, averaging 25.5 yards per return — not too shabby! Countess scored his first touchdown in 2017 against the Philadelphia Eagles (also a blocked punt). In you’re shaky on on the past of 25 year-old Blake Countess, he played his college ball at Michigan and was a sixth-round pick in 2016 by the Philadelphia Eagles and was later cut and picked up by the Rams (practice squad) before the 2016 season began.Countess is turning out to be a valuable role player for the Rams this season Authentic Todd Gurley Jersey , providing much needed depth in the battered secondary as well as the special teams unit, which has also been plagued by injuries. Look for Blake to serve at the primary kick returner on Thursday night against the Minnesota Vikings. When it comes to setting betting lines, home-field advantage typically carries a value of three points. The Rams’ home-field advantage is far from typical. Before the Chiefs-Rams game moved from Mexico City to Los Angeles, oddsmakers had installed the Rams as 2.5-point favorites. After the game moved Todd Gurley Jersey Elite , the line moved only to Rams minus 3.5.Under the normal formula, the Rams would have become 5.5-point favorites after the move to L.A. Of course, if enough people put money on the Rams, it will. The fact that it didn’t go there immediately suggests that the L.A. Memorial Coliseum provides a forgettable home-field advantage. And for good reason. Both L.A. teams enjoy no real home-field advantage http://www.losangelesramsteamonline.com/aaron-donald-jersey , because thousands of fans of the visiting team show up for every game. Not because they’re all traveling to Los Angeles but because more than two decades of L.A. having no NFL teams resulted in large pockets of fans of every team. It could take another 20 years to reverse that trend, although the success of both L.A. teams could make that happen more quickly.Especially if either or both of the L.A. teams get to the Super Bowl.
s game against the Vikings Bills Vladimir Ducasse Jersey , but it’s hard to imagine anyone in Buffalo getting too upset about that development. They scored the first 27 points of the game, led 27-0 at halftime and cruised to a 27-6 win for the most surprising result of Week Three. The Bills had been handled with little sweat by the Ravens and Chargers in the first two weeks of the season and were 16.5-point underdogs in a road game against the Vikings, but they opened the game strong and never turned back.Josh Allen ran for a 10-yard touchdown to open the game, added a sneak for another and threw a touchdown pass to Jason Croom while the more heralded Kirk Cousins lost a pair of fumbles in the first quarter. The Vikings offense didn’t cross midfield until the second half and didn’t get on the scoreboard until there were under three minutes left to play in the game. The performance, which came without the injured running back Dalvin Cook and defensive end Everson Griffen, will lead to questions about the Vikings’ readiness. In particular, they’ll be asked if they overlooked the Bills in favor of focusing on their Week Four Thursday night game against the Rams.If they were looking past the Bills, they paid for it because Buffalo came ready to play and put together the kind of performance that will make for a happier week as they prepare for another road game in Green Bay.Scouting the Scouts: Where have the Buffalo Bills scouts been spotted The 2018 college football season is well underway which means that NFL general managers and scouts have been hitting the road to watch prospects play live. Find out below.Oklahoma-UCLASeptember 8thTop ProspectsOklahoma (WR Marquise Brown, RB Rodney Anderson, OT Bobby Evans Authentic Stephen Hauschka Jersey , OG Dru Samia)UCLA (ER Jaelan Phillips, TE Caleb Wilson, OG Michael Alves)Grif’s take: Oklahoma’s offensive skill positions was likely the main draw, as Marquise Brown and Rodney Anderson are among the best at their position in the nation, but UCLA’s Caleb Wilson is also considered to be among the five draft-eligible tight ends.LSU-AuburnSeptember 15thTop ProspectsLSU Tigers (LB Devin White, CB Greedy Williams, OG Garrett Brumfield, TE Foster Moreau)Auburn Tigers (QB Jarrett Stidham, DT Derrick Brown, CB Javaris Davis, WR Darius Slayton)Grif’s take: The defensive talent in this game was unrivaled. LSU’s White and Williams are first-round locks and analysts are very high on Brown for Auburn. Brumfield was dealing with an injured knee during the game, but he is a very exciting prospect at a position of need for the Bills.University at Buffalo-RutgersSeptember 22ndTop ProspectsUB Bulls (QB Tyree Jackson, WR Anthony Johnson Bills Ryan Groy Jersey , LB Khalil Hodge, DE Charles Harris)Rutgers Scarlet Knights (OT Tariq Cole, CB Blessuan Austin, CB Isaiah Wharton)Grif’s take: Not sure why the scouts traveled all the way to Jersey when they could take a short drive to UB Stadium during any other game, but seeing UB talent take on a Big Ten team was likely appealing. Johnson and Hodge were the best prospects on the field, but the two cornerbacks for Rutgers are solid lower-round talents.Georgia-MissouriSeptember 22ndTop ProspectsGeorgia Bulldogs (CB Deandre Baker, S J.R. Reed, DE Jonathan Ledbetter, OLB D’Andre Walker, WR Mecole Hardman)Missouri Tigers (QB Drew Lock, DT Terry Beckner, TE Albert Okwuegbunam, WR Joseph Hall)Grif’s take: The Georgia defenders listed are all high-level prospects Bills Jason Croom Jersey , Missouri’s talent has spent the year raising their draft stock all season. Okwuegbunam actually led both teams with 9 catches for 81 yards.Michigan-NebraskaSeptember 22ndTop ProspectsMichigan Wolverines (DT/DE Rashan Gary, DE Chase Winovich, LB Devin Bush, CB Lavert Hill, S Khaleke Hudson)Nebraska Cornhuskers (WR Stanley Morgan, DT Carlos Davis, CB Eric Lee)Grif’s take: Again, it was the defensive talent, specifically Michigan’s, that likely drew the Bills’ scouts. Gary has first-round stock, even if Michigan isn’t using him correctly. After adding some weight, Bush looks like a solid NFL starter.
with black numbers just doesn’t look right on Jordy Nelson http://www.packerscheapstore.com/david-bakhtiari-jersey-cheap , does it?The 10-year Green Bay Packer veteran relocated this offseason, trading the Frozen Tundra and his “87” green and gold uniform for the Bay Area after the organization decided to part ways and save a $10 million cap hit. So far, Nelson’s theoretical replacement in Green Bay, Jimmy Graham, has had a strong showing in training camp and developed intriguing early chemistry with Aaron Rodgers. But positive remarks are flowing in for Nelson as well.An overwhelming assertion behind Nelson’s release was that he had a lost a step at age 33, despite the quarterback inconsistencies last season for the Packers. That’s not the case according to Matt Schneidman of the Mercury News who caught up with Nelsons’s new coach Jon Gruden and quarterback Derek Carr.“He can still run,” said Gruden. “He’s proven to us he can still run. We can line him up anywhere we want and he can run any route we draw up.”“The thing that you hear about that he can’t run anymore,” added quarterback Derek Carr. “That’s false. I can tell you, he’s one of the fastest skill guys that we have still.”It’s too early to be certain what kind of season Nelson will have or whether he is still the same player that totaled 1,257 receiving yards and 14 touchdowns just two years ago. It’s difficult for a wide receiver to change quarterbacks and systems in the latter stages of a career. But the signs of slowing up sure haven’t been apparent yet in Oakland for a team searching for a division title in a wide open AFC West. Meanwhile, Nelson has also drawn praise for his leadership role as a mentor, an underrated skill with younger receivers like Amari Cooper and Martavis Bryant on the roster. Here are some other notes on Nelson from the Twitter mill during camp last week. But perhaps the top quote of the week regarding Nelson came from Carr.“I can’t believe Green Bay let him go, but I’m glad he’s here.” The Kansas City Chiefs scored a touchdown every time they had the ball in the first half last Sunday, racing out to such a big lead against San Francisco that there was virtually no chance that the 49ers could come back. They still made it a little bit interesting. Both of those have become common themes three games into the season: The Chiefs have established early leads against everybody they've faced Cheap Jaire Alexander Jersey , then seemingly let up on the gas just a little bit.Part of that is circumstance, Chiefs coach Andy Reid said, but part of it is human nature. It's simply a bit more difficult to remain on the razor's edge, as you might be when the game is hanging in the balance, than when you have a 35-7 lead as they had last week against San Francisco."You have a tendency (to let up) and you have to fight that on both sides of the ball," Reid said. "Whether it's dropping a ball on a third down play when you have an opportunity to convert. Whether it's easing back just a step and then the ball is completed in front of you, or you're either late on breaking it up or missing a tackle, that sort of thing. That's human nature."But you have to fight that sort of thing," Reid continued. "We're a young football team and so you have to learn that. You got to power through that and learn as you go how to finish."In the very next breath, Reid pointed out that the Chiefs have still won each of their games, and none of them have necessarily been nail-biters.The closest thing to that came in Pittsburgh, when the Steelers rallied from 21-0 down to tie the game at halftime, then fell behind 42-30 early in the fourth quarter before a touchdown in the final minutes produced the final 42-37 margin. The Chiefs led the Chargers 14-3 early in their opener, and 31-12 heading into the fourth quarter Cheap JK Scott Jersey , before getting outscored 16-7 down the stretch. The result was still a 38-28 victory. They wound up beating San Francisco 38-27, despite their offense managing just a field goal in the second half, when the Chiefs began leaning on running back Kareem Hunt to put the game away."When you're ahead by that much early in the game, most teams play more bend-don't-break," said Broncos coach Vance Joseph, whose team will try to solve the Chiefs' offensive riddle Monday night."They've been good in the red zone. They're great on third down. They're first in the league on third downs," he said. "As far as takeaways, they've been great over the last three years taking the ball away. That's their formula: score points, bend-don't-break on defense, take the ball away."Those early leads have been especially important with a first-year starter in Patrick Mahomes at quarterback. He hasn't had to produce a late-game comeback, or operate from behind at all, and so far that's produced a record-setting stretch of games in which he's thrown 13 touchdown passes. As a team, the Chiefs have outscored opponents 49-6 in the first quarter."It's not just their offense. Their defense has only give up six points," Joseph said. "It's their entire team. It's going to be a challenge to start fast Cheap Randall Cobb Jersey , play great defense and for our offense to score some points. ... It's a challenge, but again, we're looking forward to it."Chiefs offensive tackle Mitchell Schwartz acknowledged Thursday that another quick start is even more important than usual against Denver. If the Broncos manage to get a lead, their defense 鈥?and star linebacker Von Miller in particular 鈥?can "pin their ears back and make things difficult," he said."It's a stressful week," Schwartz added.Stress? That's something the Chiefs haven't had to deal with too much this season.Notes: Outside linebacker Dee Ford was held out of practice Thursday after hurting his groin against the 49ers, though it's possible he could play Monday night. "He's actually doing very well right now so we're optimistic," Reid said. "It could be a day, a couple days. We'll see how it goes." ... Linebacker Terrance Smith (shin bruise) also missed practice along with safety Eric Berry (heel), who has been out since camp.
