Wide receivers might benefit if pass interference became a reviewable penalty Chris Lindstrom Jersey , but one of the best wide receivers in the business doesn’t want that to happen. at a pre-Super Bowl event at Georgia Tech that he doesn’t want to see instant replay used on pass interference, even though it could have fixed the missed call in the NFC Championship Game.“I personally don’t believe there should be review of plays like that. It’s a bang-bang play,” Fitzgerald said. “It’s very subjective, it’s happening so fast, these officials are put in really tough positions. I just don’t think we should do that.”Fitzgerald said that if anything, he’d like to see pass interference become a less significant penalty by capping the yardage at 15 yards, as is the case in college football.“Pass interference . . . 40 yards downfield shouldn’t be a 40-yard penalty,” Fitzgerald said. That’s a surprising stance for a wide receiver, but he proposed a deal he’d like to strike: In exchange for changing pass interference, which benefits the defense http://www.atlantafalconsteamonline.com/kaleb-mcgary-jersey , give the offense an advantage by changing the rule that makes a fumble into the end zone a touchback, and allow the offense to retain possession. That proposal from Fitzgerald drew a round of applause from those gathered at the event in Atlanta. The chase to Atlanta is on.The regular season is over and there are 12 teams remaining in the run to the Super Bowl. And at the top of the AP Pro32 poll, the new year starts right where the previous one ended. The New Orleans Saints, Los Angeles Rams and Chicago Bears, the top three seeds in the NFC, retained their top three spots in the final AP Pro32 poll of the season.New Orleans received 11 of the 12 first-place votes for 382 points in balloting Wednesday by media members who regularly cover the NFL. New Orleans will open the playoffs at home in the divisional round on Sunday, Jan 13.“The Saints lost in Week 1 and Week 17, both at home,” said Ira Kaufman of Fox 13 in Tampa, Florida. “In between Kendall Sheffield Jersey , Drew Brees and company established themselves as the team to beat in the Super Bowl chase.”The Rams, who also finished 13-3 in the regular season, will start their postseason at the Coliseum on Saturday, Jan. 12. The Bears will close wild-card weekend when they host the defending Super Bowl champion Eagles on Sunday. The next six spots in the poll are all taken by the AFC’s playoffs teams. The Chiefs, who have the AFC’s top seed, are No. 4. Kansas City, which received the remaining first-place vote — from John Czarnecki of Fox Sports — has won the AFC West for three consecutive seasons. Patrick Mahomes, who finished with 5,097 yards and 50 TD passes, will try to get Kansas City its first home playoff win since the 1993 season.“MVP front-runner Patrick Mahomes finished a brilliant first season as a starter with 50 touchdown passes http://www.atlantafalconsteamonline.com/john-cominsky-jersey ,” said Newsday’s Bob Glauber. “With home-field advantage in the AFC playoffs, is a Super Bowl berth next?”The Los Angeles Chargers and New England Patriots finished in a tie at No. 5 in the poll. The Patriots, who won the AFC East for the 10th straight season and 15th time in the past 16 seasons, are the No. 2 seed in the AFC. They are trying to reach their ninth Super Bowl in the Bill Belichick-Tom Brady era. They are also trying to become the first team since the 1990s Buffalo Bills to return to the Super Bowl after losing it the previous season, and the first since the 1992 Bills to make a third successive trip to the big game. The Chargers, despite finishing with the same record as the Chiefs at 12-4, lost the tiebreaker and are the No. 5 seed in the AFC. They will head to Baltimore to face the AFC North champion Ravens on Sunday. The Ravens are No. 9 in the poll.AFC South rivals Houston and Indianapolis are Nos. 7 and 8 in the poll. Those teams will open the postseason in Houston on Saturday when they meet for the third time after splitting their previous meetings.“Just wish they had another WR,” Czarnecki said of the Texans. Houston’s DeAndre Hopkins finished second in the NFL with 1,572 yards, but the depth took a hit when Demaryius Thomas was lost for the season with an Achilles tendon injury.Seattle and Dallas Qadree Ollison Jersey , who meet Saturday night in Texas, are 10th and 11th in the poll. The Seahawks and Cowboys both finished 10-6. They met in Seattle in Week 3, when the Seahawks won 24-13.The team that made the biggest climb from the first poll, which was released before the season started, was the Bears, who started out at No. 28 and finished at No. 3. And the team that had the biggest drop was the Jacksonville Jaguars, who began at No. 7 and ended up at No. 28.The Arizona Cardinals, who finished with the worst record in the NFL at 3-13 and have the No. 1 pick in April’s draft, were a unanimous choice for last place in the poll.
As it turns out http://www.arizonacardinalsteamonline.com/byron-murphy-jersey , Incognito faced not one but two criminal cases last August. In addition to an incident at a funeral home that resulted in a guilty plea to disorderly conduct charges, Incognito engaged in misconduct at his grandmother’s house two days earlier.Via ESPN, Incognito pleaded guilty to to misdemeanor charges of criminal damage and disorderly conduct in April, in connection with an August 2018 incident. While arguing with his grandmother Andy Isabella Jersey , Incognito put his fist through the wall in the living room and ripped a security system control unit from the wall at her Peoria, Arizona home.An “enraged” Incognito (according to the police report) blamed his 90-year-old grandmother for his father’s death. The Raiders had no comment regarding the incident involving Incognito’s grandmother, which prior to today was not publicly known.Given an extensive history of misconduct for which Incognito has never faced league-level scrutiny, these two incidents could (and arguably should) put Incognito in line for a significant suspension. And if he hadn’t disclosed the run-in with his 90-year-old grandmother to the Raiders Clelin Ferrell Jersey , that could be enough to get the Raiders to pull the plug quickly on the Incognito experiment. NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Tex Schramm often called Gil Brandt into his office to look at the fabric swatches draped all over his furniture, wanting another opinion on the right jersey and pants combination for the Dallas Cowboys. He sure hit on a winning combination. Decades later, Cowboys’ jerseys remain among the NFL’s top sellers.“The uniform thing was a special project to him Josh Oliver Jersey ,” said Brandt, now historian and player analyst for NFL.com after helping Schramm build the Cowboys. “I can’t tell you how much time I spent with him looking at these uniforms and saying, ‘Yeah, I think this is the best. This will show up the best on television.'”As the NFL enters its 100th season http://www.jacksonvillejaguarsteamonline.com/quincy-williams-ii-jersey , what players wear on the field may have changed the most, going from leather helmets and long-sleeved turtlenecks and sweaters to plastic helmets with jerseys and pants almost shrink-wrapped to fit. The main reason why players wear a jersey remains unchanged even a century later: to tell who plays for which team.“You want something to identify yourself, right?” said Jon Kendle, director of archives and football information at the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson took more sacks than any other quarterback in the NFL in 2018, but his health is not a concern this offseason. That wasn’t the case at this time last year. Watson tore his ACL during his rookie season and spent the offseason working his way back to full strength in time for the regular season. With no such worries this year, General Manager Brian Gaine said on Thursday that the team is excited about what the extra time with his receivers will mean for Watson.“There’s a ton of upside with Deshaun Watson, great kid, great skill set,” Gaine said, via the . “We’re optimistic that the ceiling is really high with him. We’re excited about his offseason and now he’s going to have a full offseason with [DeAndre] Hopkins, [Will] Fuller, [Keke] Coutee, the full skill set of the offense. The timing of that, the coordination of that, the silent communication of that, I think that will pay great dividends for us.”Better protection for Watson would probably pay some dividends as well. Finding a way to get that figures to be a priority for Gaine while Watson and the wideouts are working things out among themselves.
Once upon a time Sheldrick Redwine Jersey , the Panthers started a Hall of Honor. But after two statues and an attempt to pander to fans, it sort of sat there unattended for over a decade. Now, they’re cranking it back up, and working to recreate some goodwill. The team just tweeted out a video clip of owner David Tepper calling someone to tell them they’ve been inducted into the next “class.”Julius Peppers.Peppers ? fourth on the league’s all-time sack list ? should walk right into the Hall of Fame as soon as he’s eligible. Smith might be in for a longer wait, but his impact on the Panthers franchise is clear. His touchdown in double-overtime in the 2004 playoff win at St. Louis may be the signature moment in the team’s short history, and he led the league in receptions, yards, and touchdowns in 2005 as they advanced to the NFC Championship Game. But Smith left with hard feelings, both for former General Manager Dave Gettleman and former patron/owner Jerry Richardson. Since Tepper took over, they’ve made a conscious effort to rebuild the relationship with the non-NFL Network analyst, bringing him to a game last year to honor him. Smith still lives in the area http://www.brownsauthorizedshops.com/authentic-austin-seibert-jersey , but things were frosty with the team for several years, as he took pride in being a Raven after Baltimore took him in.The only other people in the team’s Hall of Honor are original team president Mike McCormack and linebacker Sam Mills, who were inducted in 1997 and 1998 (the team started business in 1995). They put “PSL owners” in the ring in 2004, saluting the people whose initial investment helped Richardson bring a team to Charlotte. If a team with such a short history inducts two players (or more) a year, it will thin out quickly, but as they enter their 25th season, honoring their two best players makes sense. ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (AP) — After putting the Bills ahead with his arm, Josh Allen sealed Buffalo’s 14-13 victory over the Detroit Lions with his leaping legs. All the rookie quarterback needed was a push. That’s the way fullback Patrick DiMarco described Allen’s 2-yard leap to convert a fourth-and-1 at the Lions 41 with 1:47 remaining.Article continues below ...“He said, ‘Give me the freaking ball,’ and then he said, ‘Pat Trysten Hill Jersey , push me,'” said the fullback, who provided Allen a nudge to get him over the top of the pile. “He’s competitive. He’s tough. He’s everything you want as a leader. This franchise is going to be good with him around.”Allen hit rookie Robert Foster in stride for a 42-yard go-ahead touchdown pass with 10:26 remaining, and the Bills hung on to eliminate the Lions from playoff contention.Allen improved to 4-5 in nine starts this season, and won for the third time with Buffalo trailing or tied in the fourth quarter. The Bills (5-9) snapped a two-game skid and won despite finishing the game minus their top three running backs. Starter LeSean McCoy (left hamstring) and backup Chris Ivory (left shoulder) were inactive and then Marcus Murphy did not return after dislocating his left elbow in the second quarter. The Lions (5-9) lost despite second-year receiver Kenny Golladay finishing with a career-best 146 yards receiving, and will finish with a losing record for the first time since going 7-9 in 2015.“Yeah, it’s frustrating. You play this game for the opportunity to play in the playoffs,” quarterback Matthew Stafford said. “We had our chances. We had our opportunities, just didn’t make enough plays.”The Lions’ special teams helped cost them.Detroit opened the scoring on Stafford’s 4-yard touchdown pass to Andy Jones, but botched the extra-point attempt on Don Muhlbach’s bad snap. Then, following Foster’s touchdown, Stafford responded by marching the Lions 45 yards on the next possession only to have kicker Matt Prater miss a 48-yard field goal wide right.“I don’t have an excuse http://www.cowboysauthorizedshops.com/authentic-connor-mcgovern-jersey ,” said Prater, who entered having hit his previous 14 field-goal attempts. “I let everybody down, including myself.”First-year coach Matt Patricia said there was plenty of blame to go around.“There’s plenty of situations out there on the field where we could do more to do better to help us win,” Patricia said. “It starts with me. Have to go out and execute better.”Stafford wasn’t the problem in continuing to build chemistry with Golladay on an offense missing leading rusher Kerryon Johnson (knee), and with veteran receiver Marvin Jones Jr. on injured reserve.A week after managing just 101 yards passing — the second-fewest in his career — in a 17-3 win at Arizona, Stafford topped that number in the first half alone with 137 yards passing, including 115 to Golladay.Allen showed he’s capable of winning with his arm. He finished with just 16 yards rushing after becoming just the second quarterback in NFL history to top 95 yards rushing in three consecutive games.“I don’t know if the stats are very good, I haven’t seen them. But I think it comes down to the team,” Allen said, providing credit to the defense. “It was a collective effort.”Bills safety Micah Hyde made a point to head over to Allen’s locker and tap him on the back following the game.“I just said, ‘Keep being yourself, man Tony Pollard Jersey ,'” Hyde said. “He has heart. He plays with heart. He wears it on his sleeves and we all appreciate that.”FOSTER CATCHING ONFoster, an undrafted rookie out of Alabama, has combined for 438 yards receiving and two touchdowns in his past five games since being activated from the practice squad. He has topped 100 yards receiving in three of his past five games, including a 104-yard outing in a 27-23 loss to the Jets last weekend. He’s Buffalo’s first player to top 100 yards receiving in consecutive games since Sammy Watkins in Weeks 11 and 12 in 2015.PICKING ON TRE’DAVIOUS WHITEStafford went at the strength of the Bills secondary in beating Buffalo’s top cornerback Tre’Davious White.Golladay was falling backward to make a 33-yard catch even though White was flagged for pass interference to set up Detroit’s first scoring drive, capped by Stafford’s 4-yard pass to Jones.Trailing 7-6, Stafford floated a pass up the right sideline which Golladay caught by outjumping White for a 40-yard completion. The Lions scored three plays later on Zach Zenner’s 1-yard plunge.NOT-SO-SPECIAL TEAMSA hip injury that bothered Bills kicker Stephen Hauschka came into play on Buffalo’s first possession, and after Allen was sacked for a 9-yard loss on third-and-9 at Detroit’s 29. Rather than have Hauschka attempt a 50-plus-yard field goal, the Bills punted. Hauschka was hurt when being blindsided by Jets defensive lineman Henry Anderson last week.UP NEXTLions: Close home schedule against Minnesota next Sunday.Bills: Close road schedule at New England next Sunday.
FLORHAM PARK Zach Brown Jersey , N.J. (AP) — news conference batting down reports and rumors, while trying to set the record straight. The New York Jets coach has been the focus of lots of conversation — most of it not good — on sports talk radio, television and social media since the team fired general manager Mike Maccagnan last Wednesday. The widespread belief is that Gase had something to do with how everything went down, that he “backstabbed” Maccagnan and forced team chairman and CEO Christopher Johnson to make a change.“That would be false,” Gase insisted Thursday during his first news conference since Maccagnan was fired. “That’s just not true. Christopher made the decision.”On Monday, Gase took one question about the situation from reporters at the team’s facility and said there was no power struggle between him and Maccagnan. Gase acknowledged Thursday that the two didn’t always see eye to eye, but nothing unlike other NFL teams’ coaches and GMs.“The majority of the time, me and Mike were always on the same page,” Gase said. “You have disagreements. There are always going to be disagreements in this profession, as far as philosophy, what you want to do player personnel-wise Devin Bush Jersey , but at the end of the day he had the final decision. That was his right.”Gase was then asked if he expressed to Johnson at any point that he couldn’t work with Maccagnan.“No,” Gase said flatly. One of the rumored sources of tension between the two was the Jets giving running back Le’Veon Bell a four-year, $52.5 million deal in free agency. According to some published reports, Gase didn’t want Bell; others said Gase was not happy about paying that much money for the former Steelers star.“The contract was what it was,” Gase said. “I mean, everybody can criticize contracts all you want, but he’s here, I’m excited he’s here, I think our players are excited he’s here and our coaches are. When you get a chance to coach a great player, a guy who has done things that no one has ever done in the league, like him we’re excited about that opportunity. I’m excited to get him in the offense Diontae Johnson Jersey , so I can start figuring out what else can we do with him. What hasn’t he done? What can he be great at in this system?”Gase also insisted he did not think the Jets overpaid for Bell, who has not attended the team’s voluntary workouts this offseason. He is expected to re-join his new teammates for mandatory minicamp next week.“Discussions are had and whether or not we disagreed on anything if it was financially, that’s a completely different story than the person or the player,” Gase said. “And that’s where a lot of this gets misconstrued. Le’Veon Bell is a great player, he’s a good person, he’s been in constant contact with me. I enjoyed my interaction with him when he was here, when he came up to visit for his physical and we signed him, when he was here for the beginning of Phase I. He texts me all the time. All that stuff on Instagram, I get it first. That’s how I know what he’s doing. He’s been great with me as far as contact goes, making sure that I know what he’s doing, where he’s working out at Justin Layne Jersey , where he is — whatever part of the United States he’s working out in.”There was a recent report that the Jets could even consider trying to trade Bell to get out of the big contract.“That’s ridiculous,” Gase said, shaking his head. “That’s the first time I’ve heard of that.”Gase is serving as the acting general manager while the Jets begin the process of hiring a new one, with the coach characterizing it as being in the “beginning stages.”Johnson said last week that Gase will assist in the search, but Gase reiterated that it will be the owner’s decision. Some have speculated that the incoming GM will likely have previous working ties with Gase, and the coach will have heavy influence on that new hire’s decision making.“I don’t know,” Gase said. “I don’t really hang out with ‘yes men,’ so if it’s somebody I already know, it’s probably somebody that’s not going to be a ‘yes man.'”Gase was also asked if he thinks he needs to establish a line of trust with the fans who might be wary about how things have unfolded with him during the past few weeks.“I think our fans care whether we win or lose,” he said. “If we win games, nobody’s going to remember this. I know that. … Our job is to win — that’s it.”NOTES: First-round pick DL Quinnen Williams (calf) was not practicing for precautionary reasons. … CB Trumaine Johnson was not present during the voluntary practice. The Ravens are willing to run and play defense and hope for the best. That works as long as you take caer of the ball. But the Ravens have already fumbled three times in the first quarter Benny Snell Jr. Jersey , losing one of them, and the Chargers took a 3-0 lead because of it.Rookie quarterback Lamar Jackson has two of the fumbles, but recovered both. They weren’t as fortunate when running back Kenneth Dixon coughed it up, as the ball was poked out by Chargers outside linebacker Melvin Ingram and recovered by safety Adrian Phillips. That gave them the ball at the Ravens’ 15-yard line, the kind of field position even the best defense can’t give up.The Chargers do have things to worry about, however, as running back Melvin Gordon walked off the field after apparently injuring his left knee. He missed time this year with a right knee problem, and his absence will be a concern moving forward. He walked straight to the locker room with the athletic training staff instead of going to the tent, and they announced he’s questionable to return. They had to settle for a short field goal, but points may be in short supply today.
When training camp opened Shareef Miller Jersey , that offensive coordinator Todd Monken’s transition to the team has been rocky enough that Kitchens had to take over a larger role in the offense.Monken did the same from Browns camp on Thursday. He said that Kitchens is “the head coach and he’s going to call the plays,” which makes for a lot of involvement. Monken added that there’s nothing unusual about any head coach having an active role in the offense.“It makes no sense to me,” Monken said, via Cleveland.com. “When I was at Oklahoma State, guess who was involved? Mike Gundy. When I was at Tampa Devin Bush Jersey , guess who was involved? Dirk Koetter. It’s silly — absolutely silly.”The offense will remain a work in progress until the start of the regular season, but we’ll get a first glimpse at it next Thursday when they open the preseason against Washington. If the Dolphins end up trading Kenny Stills, he doesn’t think it will be about his activism. As with most decisions in the NFL, it will probably be about the money.“It’s the business side of this game,? the veteran receiver said http://www.steelersauthorizedshops.com/authentic-diontae-johnson-jersey , via Hal Habib of the . “All of us in this game could potentially be somewhere else.”Honestly, Stills’ $9.75 million cap number is likely more problematic than his kneeling or his criticism of Jay-Z’s partnership with the league.Dolphins coach Brian Flores responded to that by playing a series of Jay-Z songs during practice, and later said Stills had “responded well” to that challenge.“People have always tried to challenge me and I think I’ve always stepped up to the challenge,” Stills said.He also said that he didn’t think it was personal.“It’s a challenge to us as a team,? Stills said of Flores? musical choice. “He’s always talking to us about being physical Justin Layne Jersey , about playing smart, and so it’s not like he’s just coming after me. It’s something for us as a team we’re really working on.”And as the clock ticks toward Saturday’s deadline for putting together a 53-man roster, Stills will wait like the rest of us to see if he’s on Miami’s.
The 49ers are bracing themselves for the worst http://www.raidersauthorizedshops.com/authentic-trayvon-mullen-jersey , thinking quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo will miss the rest of the season after he injured the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee late in Sunday’s 38-27 loss to Kansas City. but 49ers coach Kyle Shanahan said: “We fear an ACL. We’ll find out more tomorrow.”That would mean C.J. Beathard is in line to start at quarterback.Garoppolo was 20 of 30 for 251 yards with two touchdowns and no picks against the Chiefs, and he was at his best in trying to rally the 49ers late. But after driving for a potential score in the fourth quarter, Garoppolo was flushed from the pocket and headed for the sideline. He appeared to take an awkward step and his knee buckled — just as Chiefs cornerback Steven Nelson delivered a shoulder-to-shoulder blow. Garoppolo wound up leaving on a cart. Also in that game, cornerback Richard Sherman left with a calf injury, safety Adrian Colbert hurt his ankle and backup cornerback Tarvarius Moore left with a wrist injury.Chiefs linebacker Dee Ford left with a groin injury in the fourth quarter.Another quarterback was injured when the Titans’ Blaine Gabbert was knocked out of the game at Jacksonville in the first quarter with a concussion. He was replaced by Marcus Mariota, who sat out last week’s victory against Houston because of an elbow injury sustained in the season opener. He was still experiencing arm weakness along with numbness and tingling in two fingers this week Maxx Crosby Jersey , saying the injury affects the velocity and spin he gets on the football.Mariota directed three scoring drives in relief of Gabbert, including one in the fourth quarter, and Tennessee knocked off the Jaguars 9-6.Titans punt returner Adoree Jackson also left with a concussion.Jaguars defensive end Calais Campbell left the game in the fourth quarter with a right ankle injury.Green Bay defensive lineman Muhammad Wilkerson was carted off in the second quarter against Washington with an ankle injury, and right tackle Bryan Bulaga left with a back injury.Redskins right tackle Morgan Moses left in the first quarter with a concussion. He was replaced by Ty Nsekhe. In other games:— Bills center Russell Bodine, who started in place of Ryan Groy, limped off with leg cramps in the third quarter against Minnesota. Vikings cornerback Trae Waynes (ankle) left in the first quarter and did not return. Right tackle Rashod Hill (ankle) limped off in the second quarter.— Indianapolis right tackle Joe Haeg left with an ankle injury, while Philadelphia safety Rodney McLeod left with a right knee injury after colliding with teammate Jalen Mills in the third quarter.— Cincinnati wide receiver A.J. Andre Branch hurt his knee in the second half. Tight end A.J. Derby (foot) also sat out the second half. Linebacker Chase Allen suffered a foot injury in the first half.— New Orleans reserve cornerback Patrick Robinson was carted from the field early in the third quarter at Atlanta with a left ankle injury. Falcons safety Ricardo Allen left early in overtime with a left calf injury. He was helped to the sideline and then driven on a cart to the locker room. Reserve cornerback Justin Bethel suffered a knee injury in the third quarter. Atlanta rookie linebacker Foyesade Oluokun left the game in the fourth quarter with an ankle injury.— Giants tight end Evan Engram (knee) left in the second quarter at Houston. Cornerback Antonio Hamilton injured his groin in the first quarter and didn’t return. Houston WR Bruce Ellington injured his hamstring in the first quarter and didn’t return. Guard Senio Kelemete (knee) left in the second quarter.— Rams cornerback Marcus Peters injured his leg during the first half against the Chargers and had to be helped off the field. The Pro Bowl selection didn’t return. Aqib Talib then left in the second half. Kick returner JoJo Natson injured his hand in the first half and didn’t return. CINCINNATI (AP) — Bengals coach Marvin Lewis exuded confidence when he fired his defensive coordinator and assumed leadership of the NFL’s worst defense. All he’s gotten is two more losses that have essentially scuttled Cincinnati’s fading hopes. The Bengals are free falling, with no sign of slowing down. And now their starting quarterback is hurt, too.Baker Mayfield set a Browns rookie record with four touchdown passes, and Cleveland ended one of the NFL’s longest streaks of road futility on Sunday with a 35-20 victory over the hapless Bengals, who lost Andy Dalton to a thumb injury. Now what? The Bengals (5-6) can’t do the simple things right, contributing to a streak of five losses in six games. They’ve fallen from first in the AFC North to third, only a half-game ahead of the Browns.“I’ve got to prepare them better Chris Lindstrom Jersey ,” Lewis said. “OK? It rests with me.”Against the Browns, they were overmatched from the start.Cleveland (4-6-1) won on the road for the first time since 2015, emphatically snapping a streak of 25 straight road losses that was one shy of the Lions’ NFL record. The Browns also ended a run of seven straight losses to their intrastate rival.“It hurts,” Bengals receiver Tyler Boyd said. “It hurts a lot.”The Bengals thought they had one advantage: Hue Jackson on their sideline. It didn’t matter. The Browns fired Jackson a month ago after he won only three games in two-plus seasons as head coach. Lewis fired defensive coordinator Teryl Austin after a 51-14 loss to the Saints, installed himself as coordinator, and hired his close friend Jackson to help with the defense. The Browns were bothered by the sight of their former coach on the other sideline plotting against them. When safety Damarious Randall picked off one of Dalton’s passes along the sideline, he stepped out of bounds and handed the ball to Jackson http://www.atlantafalconsteamonline.com/kaleb-mcgary-jersey , who patted him on the helmet.Dalton hurt the thumb on his passing hand while trying to recover a fumble in the third quarter and didn’t return. Center Billy Price snapped the ball too high, and Dalton got his hand caught in a scrum for the ball.“I’ve never done that,” Price said of his poor snap. “I just held onto it a little too much and just pulled it.”Dalton left the field immediately for testing. Lewis said the injury doesn’t appear to be season-ending, but more tests were being performed. The Browns turned the fumble recovery into Mayfield’s fourth TD pass for a 35-7 lead. Dalton was 10 of 17 for 100 yards with a touchdown and an interception.Jeff Driskel took over and went 17 of 29 for 155 yards with a touchdown pass and a TD run. He’ll start against the Broncos next Sunday at Paul Brown Stadium if Dalton can’t play.“I know personally what I’ve known all along, and that’s that I can play at this level and give our team a chance to win,” Driskel said. The Bengals already were missing cornerback Dre Kirkpatrick, receiver A.J. Green and left tackle Cordy Glenn Kendall Sheffield Jersey , inactive with injuries. Jake Fisher started at left tackle and hurt his back late in the first half. Cornerback Tony McRae suffered a concussion in the third quarter and gave two thumbs-up as he was wheeled off the field.
Matt Patricia’s way of doing things.Amendola already is rubbing off on his new teammates.“We’re still just figuring each other out http://www.broncosauthorizedshops.com/authentic-dre_mont-jones-jersey , but I know one thing, his work ethic is crazy,” third-year receiver Kenny Golladay said, via Justin Rogers of the . “It’s through the roof. He wants to push everyone. And when you have a guy like that T.J. Hockenson Jersey , a vet guy, a savvy vet, you just really want to follow up under him. I’m not going to let him go out there and out-run me.”Golladay, a third-round pick in 2017 Zach Brown Jersey , made 70 catches for 1,063 yards and five touchdowns in 2018. The Lions, though, have a new coordinator in Darrell Bevell Kyler Murray Jersey , who has brought a new scheme.“The challenge is just picking up where I left off,” Golladay said. “Don’t become complacent, you know. Just need to keep my same focus and that’s what I’m going to do.” No one has had much luck stopping Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes since he moved into the starting lineup in 2018 and we’ve seen him thrive in a variety of different stadiums and weather conditions over that span.We haven’t seen him do it while playing indoors. Mahomes played four games indoors while at Texas Tech and he had one preseason game in Atlanta in 2018, but the schedule hasn’t given him a regular season chance. That will change on Sunday. The Chiefs will be in Detroit to face the Lions and Mahomes doesn’t think that the new venue is going to present him with a bump in the road.“We practice inside and I’ve played a few games inside before and we played the preseason last year inside Byron Murphy Jersey ,” Mahomes said, via the . “So, you just prepare like it’s any other football game. I think that’s how you do regardless if you’re in a dome and it’s snowing or raining — you just kind of make sure that you’re ready to have success whatever the elements or circumstances are.”Given how well Mahomes has done outside of climate controlled environments, one wouldn’t expect the Lions defenders to get much of a boost from the roof over their heads.
New England in the future.According to multiple reports Dwayne Haskins Jersey , Thomas has agreed to a deal with the former Broncos and Texans wideout. No terms have been reported. Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports it is a one-year deal worth up to $6 million. The move will reunite Thomas with his first NFL head coach as Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels was in Denver when the Broncos selected Thomas in the first round of the 2010 draft. He’d go on to make five Pro Bowls and win a Super Bowl with Denver before being traded to Houston in the middle of last season.Thomas tore his Achilles on Christmas Eve, which ended his season and led to his release earlier this year. He’ll have to get back to health before we’ll get much of an idea about his chances of making an impact on offense for the Patriots, but there will be opportunities in a receiver group that’s unsettled beyond Julian Edelman and Phillip Dorsett. Bears defensive coordinator Chuck Pagano was in Lucas Oil Stadium on Saturday when word came that Andrew Luck was retiring. Pagano was the Colts’ head coach for the first six years of Luck’s career. He released a statement Sunday:“Andrew Luck is one of the best individuals, teammates and competitors I have ever been around in my lifetime, forget an outstanding football player and leader of men. He is selfless David Long Jersey , brilliant and always prepared like no other for the team and carried the Colts organization on his back, including seven fourth quarter comebacks in his rookie season, two AFC South titles, three consecutive playoff berths to start his career and the 2014 AFC Championship Game. When he could not go in 2015 and again in 2017, it absolutely crushed him because he could not be there for his team and their passionate fans.“It took great courage to make his decision to walk away from the game http://www.losangelesramsteamonline.com/bobby-evans-jersey , but no matter how difficult, he did what his heart told him, and I am proud of him for being honest with himself and the team. With Andrew, it was always about more than football, and I will be forever grateful to him for his support during my personal battle with leukemia. Our friendship extends well beyond player-coach Greg Gaines Jersey , and I wish him, his beautiful wife Nicole and their growing family nothing but the best. I will forever be a huge Andrew Luck fan.?
Last year Noah Fant Jersey , the Colts had low expectations. to get back to the playoffs and to advance farther than the round of eight, they don’t have the luxury that comes with being able to catch people by surprise. Coach Frank Reich embraces that.“We’re excited that everybody else is excited,” Reich recently told reporters, via Andrew Walker of Colts.com. “We’re happy about that. We want to generate that enthusiasm and excitement here for Colts fans, but when we come to work http://www.broncosauthorizedshops.com/authentic-dalton-risner-jersey , the only thing that we’re concentrating on is meeting our own high expectations. And really, and we talked about this last year, I remember us in here as a group talking about [this], our expectations are primarily about how we practice. And let’s just have high expectations, but we’re going to do it out here, then let’s let that carry over to Sundays.”Still Drew Lock Jersey , it’s one thing to have high expectations internally. As the expectations increase externally — and as the profile of the team rises — other teams will use the Colts as a measuring stick, regarding the ability to compete with and to beat the Colts as a sign that they are good, too. That’s part of what the Colts will be dealing with this year, given their success from last year.As he said, Reich’s plan to prepare his team for the struggles to come is rooted in how the team will practice.“We’ve got to practice at game speed,” Reich said. “We’ve got to think at game speed. We’ve got to adjust at game speed. We’ve got to try to make it hard on each other out here so we figure out how to adapt. We compete out here http://www.broncosauthorizedshops.com/authentic-dre_mont-jones-jersey , like we would in a game, and when we get in there on Sundays we’re just doing our thing.”The mandate to practice fast applies even when the Colts aren’t in pads. When it’s time to put the pads on in September, the goal will be to have the Colts ready to win more games than last year — and to win a few more games in January. The Ravens waived running back Alex Collins only hours after his March arrest. He has remained a free agent since but hoped to find a new home after his trial on drug and gun charges. That likely won’t happen for a few weeks.Collins announced on Instagram that he recently broke his leg and underwent surgery.“This past year has been a challenging one for me but has also allowed me to look within and grow as a person,” Collins wrote, via Jamison Hensley of ESPN. “God has a plan for all of us and right now that includes me using what I’ve learned through every experience and pressing forward to the road ahead.“Two weeks ago, I broke a bone in my leg and I underwent successful surgery. I refuse to be discouraged. Instead T.J. Hockenson Jersey , I have faith and am optimistic about the process. I believe that all that has happened is making me physically and emotionally stronger, and is necessary for me to succeed in life. I have already begun the healing and rehab process, and I fully trust God’s plan for me. I look forward to getting back to playing football and doing what I love most. Thank you for everyone who has supported me. I’ll be back Irish dancing soon.”Collins crashed his car into a tree about a mile from the Ravens’ headquarters in Owings Mills on March 1. Police said they smelled marijuana, and searched the car to find approximately five ounces of marijuana and a handgun. Collins then admitted to police that he had more marijuana and guns at his residence.Officers found the marijuana, two rifles and ammunition upon executing a search warrant.Collins faces charges of intent to distribute marijuana and possession of a firearm during a drug-trafficking crime, which are felonies Zach Brown Jersey , and possession of more than 10 grams of marijuana and possession of a handgun in a vehicle, which are misdemeanors. He has a court date of July 22.The Seahawks made Collins a fifth-round choice in 2016. He joined the Ravens in 2017.
The Falcons have enjoyed depth in the backfield Darius Slayton Jersey , but they have too long of a line of other players to pay now.Via Vaughn McClure of ESPN.com, the Falcons are expected to watch running back Tevin Coleman to walk into free agency ? thus out the door forever.“Tevin’s going to do well, wherever he is,” Combine T.J. Hockenson Jersey , before catching himself and adding: “Whether he is with us or whether he goes somewhere else.”Coleman will be an unrestricted free agent on March 13, and ought to have a decent amount of interest ? despite a softening market at his position. The Falcons have already paid his backfield mate Devonta Freeman (and several others including quarterback Matt Ryan), and are busy this offseason trying to retain defensive tackle Grady Jarrett and find a long-term solution for wide receiver Julio Jones. With all those commitments, it’s probably not realistic to keep a complementary back. But Coleman ran for 800 yards and averaged 4.8 yards per carry last year while Freeman battled injuries http://www.lionscheapstore.com/jahlani-tavai-jersey-cheap , so it’s also reasonable to think he can be more than a complement elsewhere. That would leave the second back role to Ito Smith in Atlanta, as Coleman’s likely to look elsewhere. The Chiefs made the decision to move on from Kareem Hunt after the league placed the running back on on the Commissioner Exempt list in November. That doesn’t mean the Chiefs have stopped caring about Hunt.Coach Andy Reid made it clear Wednesday he will root for Hunt and wants the best for his former player, who signed with the Browns earlier this month. “I care about Kareem and just that his life is in order,” Reid said. “That’s the important thing. He’s worked hard at that. [Browns General Manager] John [Dorsey] doesn’t miss that. John understands how that works and he’s sensitive to that. I think Kareem is in good hands and I think he’s going to do a great job when he gets around to have that opportunity to play again. He’ll have both areas taken care of.“We know he can play. It’s just a matter of that other part. I know he and John have got that worked out. I’m comfortable with that. That’s what I’m most happy about.”Hunt and the Browns expect to have a decision from the NFL on the exact length of the former rushing leader’s suspension for multiple off-field incidents Will Harris Jersey , including an assault of a woman in Cleveland captured on video. At some point during the 2019 season, though, Hunt is expected to get a second chance.“I’m into second chances if guys do the right step to get there,” Reid said. “If you’re wrong http://www.lionscheapstore.com/austin-bryant-jersey-cheap , we’re lucky enough in this country where you can right a wrong, and normally somebody will give you an opportunity if you handle it the right way. It’s important that he’s done that legwork and that he continues to do that. Right now, he’s in that frame of mind, and it’s important he continues on with that.?

He connected on a field goal with 2 seconds left, but that wasn’t of much consolation after his poor performance.“I look back and I’m thinking, in my childhood, in high school, this is definitely one of the worst ones,” said Crosby Bobby Okereke Jersey , the first NFL kicker to miss four field goals in a game since 2010.Detroit recovered an onside kick to seal the win, preventing Rodgers from getting another chance at a game-winning Hail Mary in Detroit like the one he threw in 2015.The Lions built a big lead in the first half, picking up where they left off in their last home game, a 16-point win over the New England Patriots.Blount had a pair of 1-yard TD runs in the first quarter and Stafford’s 8-yard pass to Marvin Jones late in the second quarter put Detroit up 24-0.Patricia, though, didn’t think the Lions’ cushion was comfortable.“Unfortunately, I’ve seen that quarterback on the other side there crush a lot of leads pretty quickly and come back,” said Patricia, a former Patriots defensive coordinator.Rodgers, missing injured receivers Randall Cobb and Geronimo Allison, threw short TDs to rookie Marquez Valdes-Scantling and Lance Kendricks in the third to pull the Packers within 10 points.Stafford answered with a 5-yard TD pass to Kenny Golladay early in the fourth quarter to give Detroit a 31-14 lead.“It was big to chew up some time to give our defense a little bit of a rest and come away with some points,” Stafford said.Rodgers connected with Davante Adams on a 12-yard throw for a third TD pass, but Crosby hit the left upright on the extra point to let the Lions keep an 11-point lead midway through the fourth quarter. Adams has scored in 10 straight road games, equaling a league record set by Tommy McDonald of the Philadelphia Eagles from 1959 to 1961.Rodgers was 32 of 52 for 442 yards — the second-highest total of his career — with three TD passes.“We’ve been a one-half team all year Khari Willis Jersey ,” he said. “We need to do something about that.”STREAKINGThe Lions, who didn’t face Rodgers last year, have won three straight in the series for the first time the 1990-91 seasons.SOUND STRATEGYDetroit had success on defense, going after Rodgers with just four players and dropping seven into coverage. EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (AP) — An airplane banner criticizing the New York Jets‘ gaming deal partnership with casino operator MGM Resorts International circled MetLife Stadium several times a few hours before the team’s game against the Buffalo Bills. The banner trailing the plane Sunday read: “SHAME ON JETS/MGM #ENDGUNVIOLENCE #STOPMGM.”The Jets and Las Vegas-based MGM announced two weeks ago they agreed on a multiyear deal that is the first of its kind in the NFL. MGM Resorts is now the official gaming partner of the Jets. The agreement is the most comprehensive and integrated gaming partnership in the league, and the first to go beyond a casino sponsorship.“We wholeheartedly agree that our country needs to put an end to gun violence Josh Allen Jersey ,” MGM Resorts International said in a statement to The Associated Press. The Jets had no comment on the banner. In July, MGM sued more than 1,900 victims of the deadliest mass shooting in modern U.S. history in a bid not for money, but to avoid liability for the gunfire that rained down from a lone gunman at its Mandalay Bay casino-resort in October 2017.Early last month, a panel of federal judges denied a request from MGM to centralize 13 lawsuits stemming from the shooting. MGM had asked to centralize the cases after it filed nine lawsuits in various states against the over 1,900 victims, but said it respected the ruling by the Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation and would litigate its motions in the courts where the actions were pending.MGM said at the time that its lawsuits are to avoid years of costly litigation and were focused only on people who have sued the company and voluntarily dismissed their claims or have threatened to sue.Late last month, MGM and the plaintiff’s attorneys agreed to stay all pending litigation and entered into mediation. All litigation was suspended while the sides attempt to mediate a settlement.“Our goal has always been to resolve these matters fairly and promptly, and we and the plaintiffs have asked the courts to suspend all litigation so we can enter into mediation and attempt to reach a resolution,” MGM said in a statement to the AP. “We hope for a positive outcome so all of those impacted can look forward to the future and continue in their healing.”A few New York-area politicians had recently slammed the Jets’ partnership on social media, citing the initial lawsuit by MGM.New York State Sen. Kevin Parker from Brooklyn wrote on Twitter: “I strongly disagree with @nyjets partnering with @MGMResortsIntl. The @MGMResortsIntl decision to sue the victims of the Mandalay Bay Shooting in Las Vegas is a complete disgrace! The @nyjets SHOULD NOT move forward #STOPMGM.”Added N.Y. State Sen. Luis Sepulveda from the Bronx: “Shame on the @nyjets for partnering with @MGMResortsIntl who decided to sue the victims of the Mandalay Bay Shooting in Las Vegas. I urge folks to boycott the team until they end the partnership. #StopMGM.”
Seahawks comes and goes without a new contract L.J. Collier Jersey , what happens next? Here’s one thing that should happen: Other teams without short-list franchise quarterbacks should call the Seahawks to inquire regarding what it would take to get Wilson via trade. That doesn’t mean he will be or should be traded. It means that, in the never-ending process of due diligence done to determine whether a team can be upgraded via the presence of a new player, it makes sense to make the call and see what it would take to get Wilson now.It also would make sense to find out what Wilson would want from a team other than the Seahawks. There’s a sense that he’s driving a hard bargain with the Seahawks so that he can get to another team, and that with another team he’d want less than what he wants from the Seahawks. Because, however, agent Mark Rodgers represents only one NFL player, getting information about Wilson’s expectations without committing an easily detectable violation of the tampering rules will be difficult to do.If Wilson were represented by an agent with clients on every team Marquise Blair Jersey , any team could contact officially Wilson’s agent about a player on that team, and then unofficially ask about Wilson. With Rodgers having no other clients, there’s no reason for any team to talk to him, other than to talk about Wilson. Thus, if a trade has any chance of happening, the Seahawks at some point would have to grant permission to Wilson and Rodgers to speak to other teams. Without a chance to negotiate a long-term deal with Wilson, the chances of a trade would be minimal D.K. Metcalf Jersey , since the new team would be getting him for one year at $17 million, plus the prospect of a year-to-year franchise tag that starts at $30.34 million for 2020, continues at $36.4 million for 2021, and ends at $52.43 million for 2022.Still, plenty of teams should at least inquire about Wilson. From the Dolphins to the Bengals to the Titans to the Chargers to the Raiders to the Broncos to the Giants to Washington to the Lions to the Cardinals to maybe a few others, adding Wilson could dramatically change their prospects, in 2019 and beyond. Watching Alex Smith‘s horrific leg injury brought back nightmares for Joe Theismann Cody Barton Jersey , who was in the stadium when it happened last fall. Theismann’s career came to an end in 1985 when Lawrence Taylor snapped his leg. The former Washington quarterback said it took him 20 years to watch the play. He hoped to never see it again. “As soon as [Smith’s injury] happened, they happened to have a camera angle from behind,” Theismann said on Ian Rapoport’s podcast this week. “Now, it took me 20 years to see mine, but then all of a sudden with Alex, I saw this camera angle from behind him, and I looked at it http://www.cardinalsauthorizedshops.com/authentic-zach-allen-jersey , and I turned to [my wife] Robin and said, ‘That’s exactly like mine.'”Smith, 35, recently shed an external fixator on his right leg that promoted healing in the bones. Still, he faces an arduous journey ever to get back on the field.Theismann and Smith have had conversations about the injury, the rehab and the future.“The problem is going to be the healing process,” Theismann said on the podcast. “How long does it take? My advice to him would be: Let’s see how you feel one year from now. I think he wants to [play again]; I know it; but I’d say it’s going be a long road.”Besides the compound and spiral fractures Gary Jennings Jr. Jersey , Smith also had a post-surgical infection that added complications to an already serious injury.“He came very, very close to losing his leg. Fortunately, he still has it,” Theismann said.Smith’s future remains uncertain, but Theismann is rooting for Smith to realize his dream of playing again.
BEREA http://www.vikingsauthorizedshops.com/authentic-irv-smith-jr.-jersey , Ohio (AP) — manager John Dorsey’s opinion of the running back.“He is a member of this organization moving forward,” Dorsey said. For the moment.Dorsey said during his pre-draft news conference Thursday that he’s in no rush to trade the versatile Johnson, whose frustration at having a reduced role last season intensified in February when the Browns signed suspended running back Kareem Hunt.Johnson’s agent, Kristin Campbell, asked the Browns to deal the 25-year-old, but Dorsey hasn’t moved on the request and indicated he’s not planning to deal one of Cleveland’s best offensive players.Dorsey said he’s had “good” discussions with Johnson’s representatives and that the former third-round pick knows how he fits in.“He understands the role that he is going to play within this offense Alexander Mattison Jersey ,” Dorsey said. “That is what is important because Duke, as everybody knows, is a very talented playmaker, and I look forward to seeing him on the field on Sundays.”It remains to be seen whether that’s with the Browns — or another team. Dorsey has received trade inquiries about Johnson and they will likely increase leading up to next week’s draft.Cleveland doesn’t currently have a first-round pick after trading it to the Giants in the deal for star receiver Odell Beckham Jr., but Johnson could sweeten a package if the Browns covet a player and want to move up from No. 49.Johnson has not attended the team’s voluntary offseason workout program, a sign of his discontent with the team. Dorsey http://www.vikingsauthorizedshops.com/authentic-dru-samia-jersey , though, said he has not spoken with Johnson or his people about the absence.“I always expect him here,” Dorsey said. “It is voluntary so you can’t (require it). That is a part of the CBA.”Dorsey said new Browns coach Freddie Kitchens has texted with Johnson. Kitchens was Johnson’s position coach before being promoted to offensive coordinator midway through last season.Johnson’s workload dipped considerably in 2018, when he had 40 rushes and 47 receptions — both career lows — as the Browns went 7-8-1 after going winless the previous season. Johnson was used mostly on third downs as rookie Nick Chubb became the club’s primary ball carrier and ran for 996 yards.Johnson was unhappy with the lack of touches, and he became more upset when the Browns signed Hunt, the former Chiefs star who is expected to take his role after serving an eight-game NFL suspension to start next season.Dorsey was asked if Johnson had to be convinced about his role.“There are 53 guys on this football team. It is about winning Daniel Jones Jersey ,” Dorsey said. “That is the sole objective of this thing moving forward is winning football. Is he a talented football player? Yeah, he is really good, and he is going to help this offense move forward.”As for Hunt, Dorsey praised his commitment since joining the Browns. Hunt was banned eight games by the league for two physical altercations, one involving him shoving and kicking a woman during an argument in a Cleveland hotel last year.“Kareem has done one heck of a job,” Dorsey said. “He has been working his fanny off in the building. I could not be happier with how hard he is working in the building. I could not be happier with how hard he is working out of the building. That is all you can ask of him. He is committed to doing the proper steps here in getting this thing moving forward.”Hunt has not been available to the media since signing a one-year contract with Cleveland. FLORHAM PARK Marquise Brown Jersey , N.J. (AP) — Jets much as he did in his first two seasons. As a spectator. The Jets traded the 23-year-old quarterback to the Oakland Raiders on Tuesday for a conditional seventh-round draft pick next year, ending Hackenberg’s tenure with the team before he ever took a regular-season snap.“Some players, it takes a while for them to get going,” said coach Todd Bowles, who announced the trade after his post-practice news conference was delayed for two hours as the deal was being completed.“We did everything we could to try to help him as best we could,” Bowles added. “Sometimes it just works out somewhere else.”Hackenberg was a second-round pick out of Penn State in 2016, but never played a regular-season snap for the Jets. The 23-year-old quarterback was clearly No. 4 on New York’s depth chart, behind veterans Josh McCown and Teddy Bridgewater and first-rounder Sam Darnold.“We’ve got three quarterbacks and obviously we drafted Sam in the first (round),” Bowles said. “We like Teddy and we like Josh. We just had one too many to get all of them reps.”Hackenberg stood back and merely watched as McCown, Bridgewater and Darnold took their snaps during 11-on-11 and 7-on-7 team drills during the first practice of organized team activities. Hackenberg threw during position drills, but that was it — and, as it turned out, that was by design.“We held him out today because we had things in the works,” Bowles said, “in case something happened.”Hackenberg joins a quarterbacks room with the Raiders that includes Derek Carr, EJ Manuel and Connor Cook. Oakland coach Jon Gruden worked with Hackenberg for his “Gruden’s QB Camp” series before the 2016 draft, so he has some familiarity with the young signal caller. With the Jets, Hackenberg was considered a project when he entered the league and has been an enigma so far in the NFL. His mechanics have been the subject of much debate and criticism. So, he went back to the basics this offseason http://www.ravensauthorizedshops.com/authentic-jaylon-ferguson-jersey , working on shortening his motion and trying to become more efficient. After two years with no results, Hackenberg was asked a few hours before the trade why it took so long to take that step.“I don’t know,” he said. “I think there were some times where I threw it really good throughout my first two years here. That was the frustrating part for me, is the ups and downs and not knowing why, if that makes sense, and not really getting any information from anybody on how to fix that and how to address it.”That immediately raised some eyebrows, and came off as a veiled shot at the Jets’ coaching staff.“No, I don’t put the blame on anyone,” Hackenberg said. “I think my thing is I’m happy I got the opportunity and someone stepped up outside of me to help me give me the tools to do it. So, being able to take that by my control, if that makes sense, being able to handle that and do it myself, I think is really cool.”Bowles insisted that Hackenberg’s critical comments had nothing to do with the deal.“No, Hack’s a great guy,” Bowles said. “He’s 23 years old — he should want to play. He’s a competitor, so I understand.”After last season ended, Hackenberg sat down with Jeremy Bates, the Jets’ quarterbacks coach and new offensive coordinator, about things the youngster needed to work on. Hackenberg acknowledged that he developed “some inefficiencies Miles Boykin Jersey , some bad habits” and discussed shortening his throwing motion.Hackenberg met with former NFL quarterbacks coach David Lee and went over several things before Lee pointed him in the direction of personal coach Jeff Christensen. The two worked together for 60-plus sessions since the end of January in Chicago, Los Angeles and Kansas City with other NFL QBs such as EJ Manuel and Kevin Hogan.“For the first time in a long time, right now, I feel that I have a solid foundation from a fundamentals standpoint,” Hackenberg said. “And the cool thing is, it only started about two months ago and it’s only going to keep on getting better and better and better. So, I’m excited about it.”But it won’t be with the Jets, and Hackenberg will go down as one of the biggest draft disappointments in recent team history. New York spent a second-round pick on a player who never took a snap — and one who was considered, at one time, a possible future franchise quarterback.“Any time a pick doesn’t work out, I guess you can look at it as a waste,” Bowles said. “But when a pick does work out, it’s not a waste. You learn lessons from everything you do in life. It’s not just football and draft picks, so if anybody’s got a four-leaf clover up their butt and that’s going to work out every time, please let me know that person because it didn’t work out here.”—— KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — Doug Pederson went through this grind a few years ago, juggling the demands of his primary job as the offensive coordinator of the Kansas City Chiefs with overtures from NFL teams elsewhere.Matt Nagy went through the same process last winter. Now, Eric Bieniemy is getting his turn. The latest hot commodity for NFL head coaching jobs, Bieniemy spent the Chiefs’ bye week speaking with representatives from the Dolphins http://www.packerscheapshoponline.com/cheap-authentic-darnell-savage-jr.-jersey , Bengals, Buccaneers and Jets while turning down an opportunity to interview with Arizona. The Bucs wound up choosing Bruce Arians, but the other jobs remain open even as Bieniemy prepares the Chiefs to face the Indianapolis Colts in Saturday’s divisional round.Bieniemy declined to go into details about the interviews Wednesday, preferring to focus entirely on the only certainty in his professional life. But when asked about his latest sought-after assistant, Chiefs coach Andy Reid seemed resigned to the possibility of losing him.“I think you guys know I am a big fan of his,” Reid said. “I think he would be phenomenal.”So does just about everyone in the Chiefs locker room.Even though he played running back in college and the NFL, the affable and outspoken Bieniemy has been a crucial player in the development of first-year starter Patrick Mahomes . He has taken an offense that was good with Alex Smith under center and turned it into a record-setting group, one that hardly missed a beat with reigning NFL rushing champ Kareem Hunt was released midway through the season. He turned journeymen such as running backs Spencer Ware and Damien Williams into crucial players, and elevated stars such as wide receiver Tyreek Hill and tight end Travis Kelce to another level. All told, the Chiefs scored 565 points this season, the third most in NFL history.“He has that mindset, work ethic and determination you need to be a head coach in this league,” Mahomes said. “I know he’s had the interest, but you know he will still be 100 percent in on what we are doing here. He would be an amazing coach, but I’m excited I still have him here right now.”Many of those traits are the same ones that catapulted Pederson and Nagy to head coaching jobs.Pederson parlayed his success under Reid into the top job in Philadelphia, where he once played quarterback for him. He wound up leading a team featuring backup quarterback Nick Foles to a Super Bowl title, and now has them back in the divisional round of the playoffs.Nagy inherited a struggling Chicago Bears franchise and went 12-4 and won the NFC North, and was a double-doinked field goal away from joining Reid in the divisional round. Those are just the latest branches in Reid’s impressive coaching tree, too.John Harbaugh led the Baltimore Ravens to a Super Bowl triumph http://www.ravensauthorizedshops.com/authentic-justice-hill-jersey , and rebounded from an ugly start to return to the playoffs this year. Ron Rivera has a Super Bowl appearance with the Carolina Panthers, while Steve Spagnuolo, Todd Bowles and Sean McDermott have had varying levels of success.“Who you start with really makes a big difference,” Harbaugh said. “If you start with people that do it the right way — good people, teach you the right things — it gives you a chance, gives you a leg up. And Andy, for me, was a big part of that in every way.”Bieniemy has spoken numerous times about the opportunities that Reid has afforded him. Bieniemy was serving as offensive coordinator of Colorado, his alma mater, when Reid plucked him away to coach his running backs in Kansas City. And once Pederson and Nagy moved on to bigger things, Bieniemy was the easy choice for Reid to make his third offensive coordinator in four years. He’s proven himself just as creative as his predecessors, too, coming up with unique ways to use exotic formations. But his demeanor is far different. Pederson and Nagy were generally low-key, while Bieniemy’s voice can be heard quite clearly across three practice fields.Yet that unbridled intensity only seems to engender more devotion from his players.“He’s very detailed and he pays attention to everything,” Ware said. “If you take a look at his resume and the players he’s coached, and the way they play football, each and every play they get out there on the field. Having an entire offense with that same mentality is pretty exciting.”It’s been pretty productive, too.Notes: Shortstop Eric Berry (heel) did not practice Wednesday after working out on a limited basis the previous day. He missed the regular-season finale after spending the previous few weeks getting up to game speed. … OLB Dorian O’Daniel (foot/ankle) also did not practice Wednesday.
Packers offense this offseason and most of it has focused on how quarterback Aaron Rodgers will adjust to the system head coach Matt LaFleur is installing in Green Bay.Less attention has been paid to newly acquired members of the unit Drew Sample Jersey , especially when compared to the slew of new faces on the defensive side of the ball. One free agent is slated for a starting role this year, however, and Rodgers told Chris Simms that he thinks right guard Billy Turner is going to fill a big role for the Packers this season.“The guy who won’t get a lot of pub but I’m trying to pub him every chance I can is Bill Turner,” Rodgers said. “He’s going to be a great addition for us. He is going to be a really good addition. He’s a big tough dude, fits in really well, good athlete. He can move in our system because we’re running off the ball. He’s going to be a big part of what we are doing up front because Matt wants to run the ball.”Turner started 11 games for the Broncos last year and made 12 starts for the Dolphins in 2015 http://www.bengalscheapstore.com/germaine-pratt-jersey-cheap , but only played in nine games between those two seasons. That’s likely part of the reason why he’s flown under the radar, but fulfilling Rodgers’s expectations come the fall would likely ensure that’s not the case in the future. This has been one of the more active NFL trade deadlines for fantasy purposes.Fans of Houston, Philadelphia, and Baltimore are assuredly excited by their new players, picking up Demaryius Thomas, Golden Tate and Ty Montgomery. However Ryan Finley Jersey , it’s the teams that traded those players that will likely provide the most opportunity for fantasy value.DENVER BRONCOSThe Broncos shipped Thomas to the Texans, which will condense the target share within this offense. The primary beneficiaries are Emmanuel Sanders and Courtland Sutton, as the Thomas departing removes 20 percent of the team’s targets this season and one of its top red zone threats.Sanders’ role won’t change much. According to Pro Football Focus, Sanders has taken 64.5 percent of his snaps in the slot. He’s been very successful there, averaging 10 yards per target and catching 76 percent of his targets. Look for similar production for Sanders moving forward but with a better floor/ceiling combination on volume. On the other hand, Sutton gets a huge boost. Despite being Denver’s third receiver http://www.bengalscheapstore.com/renell-wren-jersey-cheap , Sutton already accounted for 22 percent of the team’s air yards, just behind 25 percent for Thomas. With his target share likely moving from the low teens to around 20 percent and much of that volume coming down the field, the ceiling here has expanded significantly for the rookie out of SMU.DETROIT LIONSThe Lions sent their most targeted wideout in Tate to the Eagles, removing a whopping 27 percent of the team’s targets from their offense. The clear beneficiaries here are Marvin Jones and Kenny Golladay. Neither will take Tate’s role out of the slot, but they should each receive a boost in volume. Given the efficiency and profile of each wide receiver, that boost is going to have a meaningful impact.Jones is averaging 8.2 yards per target and historically has a TD rate well above the league average for wide receivers. He’s the big play receiver with a 15.5 average depth of target (aDOT) Michael Jordan Jersey , which measures how far downfield players are when they are thrown the ball. While the second year receiver Golladay also has big play ability down the field, his 12.3 aDOT indicates he runs more shorter routes than Jones, which accounts for the much higher catch rate. At 6-4 with speed, Golladay sees the larger jump in ceiling in this offense.Tate’s direct role in the offense may be filled by T.J. Jones or undrafted free agent Brandon Powell. That will be an interesting situation to monitor moving forward, and both players are worth stashing in dynasty leagues.GREEN BAY PACKERSIt’s finally going to be the Aaron Jones show in Green Bay. The second year back has the most athletic upside of the team’s options. He has burst and agility and produce well in college, both in terms of yards per carry and percentage of team yards and touchdowns.Out of the bye week http://www.raidersauthorizedshops.com/authentic-hunter-renfrow-jersey , Jones already looked like the primary back for Green Bay, playing 32 snaps to 13 for Jamaal Williams and six for Montgomery. With Montgomery sent to the Ravens, there’s one less competitor for touches in the Green Bay offense.
This Super Bowl was a hot mess Dre'Mont Jones Jersey , really no better than a sloppy preseason game.Tom Brady and the New England Patriots captured their sixth championship Sunday night, an amazing accomplishment that was overshadowed by the ugly way they won it against the stunningly inept Los Angeles Rams.An instant classic? No, this was instantly forgettable. The only touchdown finally came when the game was 53 minutes old, the Patriots reaching the end zone on Sony Michel’s 2-yard run after one of the few offensive highlights — Brady’s niftily threaded ball to Rob Gronkowski with three defenders around, resulting in a 29-yard play.It was the only time all evening that either team reached the red zone. That brief burst of offense was enough to carry the Patriots to a 13-3 victory , but this game will be remembered as an unworthy finale to a thrilling season. Certainly not in the same league as that pair of captivating games we witnessed on conference championship weekend. Not even close to the Super Bowl classics that capped off the last two seasonsThose represented the NFL at its HD best. The latest Super Bowl should’ve been broadcast in black and white. It was straight out of the 1950s.“You’ve got to grind it out and find a way,” said Brady, delivering a drab quote that perfectly fit the occasion.Stephen Gostkowski clinched it for the Patriots, barely guiding a 41-yard field goal inside the left upright with 1:12 remaining to make it a two-score game. What a blessing. The last thing anyone needed was the Rams having any chance to send this monstrosity to overtime.Taking nothing away from a stout defensive effort by both teams, this lackluster affair seemed more the result of two offenses that never found their footing — especially the youthful Rams and their 24-year-old quarterback, Jared Goff. There were plenty of silly mistakes, the kind of plays you normally see when teams are working through the kinks coming of training camp. Both teams were flagged for having two men in motion at the same time. The Rams were penalized for a false start when lined up on second down needing less than a yard. One of their better plays was negated by a holding penalty. They even got caught with too many men on the field.“We just played bad today,” running back C.J. Anderson said. With just over a minute to go, after the Rams were called for yet another holding penalty, the press box announcer summed it up best after accidentally leaving his mic on.“Ughhhhhhh Hakeem Butler Jersey ,” he moaned, snapping the assembled media out their slumber. It was the lowest-scoring game in Super Bowl history, eclipsing a 21-point snoozer in 1973 when Miami capped its perfect season with an ugly victory over Washington that had least had a bit of comic relief: kicker Garo Yepremian’s ridiculous attempt to throw a pass. When Adam Levine ripped off his shirt during the halftime show, it was quickly apparent that tattoos would far outnumber points in the A-T-L.Come to think of it, Maroon 5 might have benefited the most from this one.Their lame, off-key performance was probably the highlight of the night. The Rams needed until deep into the third quarter to finally surpass 100 yards, on a drive that resulted in their only points. Greg Zuerlein booted a 53-yard field goal that tied the game at 3 with just over two minutes remaining in the period, and it looked like Los Angeles might actually have a chance to pull out a game it had no business winning. After Michel’s TD, Los Angeles gave itself one more chance. Driving briskly into New England territory, the Rams had first down at the 27 when Goff lofted a pass toward the right pylon with Brandin Cooks breaking into the clear. But Patriots second-string safety Duron Harmon, in the game after Patrick Chung sustained what looked to be a broken arm, came flying over to level Cooks just as the ball was slipping through the receiver’s hands at the goal line.Cooks conceded afterward that it was a catch he should’ve made, but he was hardly alone in that category. On the very next play, Huron came at Goff on a blitz. The young quarterback flinched with the safety in his face, wobbling up a pass that was easily picked off by Stephon Gilmore.New England drove the other way for the clinching field goal. With eight seconds remaining http://www.bengalscheapstore.com/jonah-williams-jersey-cheap , the Rams sent on Zuerlein to attempt a 48-yard field goal, knowing the only remote chance they had to force OT was to get three points, pull an onside kick and heave a desperation pass toward the end zone on the final play.Zuerlein was money all season, and especially in the NFC championship game against the New Orleans Saints, when he tied it up with a 48-yard field goal and won the game in overtime with a booming 57-yard effort. That was then. This time, Zuerlein’s kick sailed wide left of the upright.Brady kneeled down one more time and it was over.Thankfully.Disney officials dutifully announced that Brady and MVP Julian Edelman would be visiting the Magic Kingdom on Monday. The folks at Mickey Mouse Land might want to reconsider their offer. It’s probably best to just forget this stinker of a Super Bowl. FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (AP) — His face was still a little flushed from stepping out of the subfreezing temperatures at Gillette Stadium field just minutes following the Patriots’ 41-28 divisional-round win over the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday .Still, Julian Edelman stood at his locker satisfied — at least for a moment. Then he was asked when he would start his preparations for their AFC championship game matchup with the Kansas City Chiefs.“Immediately,” he said without hesitation. “We’re going to go play the best team in the AFC, the No. 1 seed. It’s going to start with an unbelievable week of practice, preparation. We need to do that to give ourselves the best chance to win.”Making the most of every one of his opportunities has become a hallmark of Edelman’s 10 seasons in New England. The Patriots were dealt a blow prior to their final two regular-season games when Josh Gordon was suspended for a violation of the league’s substance abuse policy. But what could have created a hole in New England’s receiving group has been plugged by its oldest member. The 32-year-old Edelman has put together back-to-back vintage performances and is expected to again play a big role during Sunday’s AFC championship game.Edelman tied his regular-season high of nine catches and had a career playoff-best 151 yards receiving in New England’s win over Los Angeles. With 98 playoff receptions during his career, he moved past Reggie Wayne (93) and is second all-time behind Jerry Rice with 151. Edelman’s five career 100-yard receiving games in the postseason trail only Rice’s eight and Michael Irvin’s six.Edelman, who missed last season with a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee and sat out the first four games of this season for violating the NFL’s policy on performance-enhancers, empathizes with Gordon’s situation.“He was making plays for us. We wish him the best to get himself right,” Edelman said. “That’s a tough thing to go through. We’re here to support him. But sometimes the train just has to keep on going. … And as much as you miss him Drew Sample Jersey , you gotta start thinking about what you gotta do to keep on going out and try to win ballgames.”The week after Gordon’s suspension, Edelman caught five of the six balls thrown to him for 69 yards and a touchdown.Over the past three games, including the playoff win over the Chargers, Edelman has been targeted by Brady 29 times, catching 20 passes for 290 yards and a pair of touchdowns.Edelman’s performance on Sunday was in many ways a throwback effort by a receiver that has developed a reputation of being one of Brady’s most dependable receivers in the playoffs. On Sunday, he was instrumental in helping the Patriots score on each of the first four drives of the game.He had a third-down catch on their opening scoring drive and had a 28-yard catch on their second drive that got the Patriots in the red zone. It set up Sony Michel’s second rushing touchdown of the game just a play later. It also helped spread out the Los Angeles defense and opened the field for New England’s rushing attack to wear the Chargers down .“He’s such a great player and just a great teammate, competitor and had a great game,” Brady said. “He came up big. We needed it and we’ll need it next week, too.”That’s because it’s exactly the kind of ball-control, efficient offensive effort that New England will need to limit the possessions of Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and a Kansas City offense that ended the regular season as the NFL’s highest-scoring offense, averaging 35.3 points per game.“Anytime you can start fast and score on your opening drive, good things tend to follow,” Edelman said.
ORLANDO Clelin Ferrell Jersey , Fla. (AP) — representation of the NFL game.It reached a new level of comedy Sunday as several players swapped positions during the annual all-star game.Jacksonville Jaguars cornerback Jalen Ramsey caught a touchdown pass in the final minute, capping a dominant performance for the AFC defense in a 26-7 victory over the NFC in steady rain. It was the third consecutive victory for the AFC, all of them at Camping World Stadium. The last two were played in sloppy weather, with the latest one also coming amid temperatures in the mid-50s. It was far from ideal conditions, raising speculation about the game’s future in Orlando, but fairly fitting considering the effort players provided. It was two-hand touch most of the day, with officials blowing plays dead at the slightest hint of contact.“Who cares, man?” New York Jets safety Jamal Adams said. “At the end of the day, we’re like little kids out there just playing in the mud, playing in the rain.”Regardless of the elements http://www.raidersauthorizedshops.com/authentic-josh-jacobs-jersey , the AFC made the plays the NFC didn’t.Kansas City’s Patrick Mahomes completed an 18-yard touchdown pass to Indianapolis’ Eric Ebron on the opening possession, helping Mahomes earn the offensive Most Valuable Player award. Mahomes pleaded with voters to give it to Chiefs fullback Anthony Sherman, who caught three passes for 92 yards and ran for a score.“Sherman had my vote. Sherman had my vote,” said Mahomes, who completed 7 of 14 passes for 156 yards. “I thought I told everybody on the camera. He made some plays out there. For a fullback, we have one of the best in the league so I’m always happy to try to get him a little vote like that.”Adams, who made headlines for sacking the New England Patriots mascot during a Pro Bowl skills competition, was named the defensive MVP thanks to an interception and a sack.“It’s a great achievement, but the main thing was to come out here and get the victory,” Adams said. “That was the main thing Johnathan Abram Jersey , just to get the money, man. That’s what we wanted.”Mahomes and Adams each got a luxury vehicle.AFC players will get $67,000 each for the victory, $8,000 more than the guys who lose the Super Bowl next week in Atlanta. The Pro Bowl losers will get $39,000 each. The AFC defenders earned their share of the pot. The conference allowed the NFC 148 total yards and 10 first downs while intercepting three passes and notching seven sacks.Ramsey got in on offense late, catching a 6-yard slant pass from Houston’s Deshaun Watson with 19 seconds remaining. Los Angeles Chargers rookie safety Derwin James failed to haul in the 2-point conversion.“Man, me and Deshaun, that’s my brother from another mother,” Ramsey said. “We’ve been plotting and scheming all week http://www.raidersauthorizedshops.com/authentic-trayvon-mullen-jersey , manifesting, and it just came about.”New York Giants running back Saquon Barkley, Dallas running back Ezekiel Elliott, Tampa Bay receiver Mike Evans and New Orleans’ Alvin Kamara all got in on defense for the NFC. Evans notched an interception. The AFC led 20-0 early in the fourth quarter, looking like it might record the first shutout in Pro Bowl history. But Dallas’ Dak Prescott found Atlanta’s Austin Hooper for a 20-yard score on fourth down with 9:09 remaining. The NFC had plenty of chances before that. The conference failed to score on a fourth-and-goal run early. Chicago’s Mitchell Trubisky, Minnesota receiver Adam Thielen and Prescott threw interceptions.Trubisky was sacked by Adams on a flea flicker, and Dallas’ Amari Cooper had a wide-open touchdown pass bounce off his face mask.Seattle’s Russell Wilson also was sacked four times.MASCOT MADNESSAdams’ hit on the Pats mascot went viral, leading to false reports about the guy being hospitalized.“It’s dying down now,” Adams said. “He never went to the hospital. They blew it up. It was all for the fans. I gained some fans and I gained some enemies, put it like that.”IN-GAME HIJINKSIndianapolis Colts tight end Eric Ebron had his phone tucked into the pocket of his sweatshirt and used it between the third and fourth quarters. Ebron took pics with opposing players Maxx Crosby Jersey , working his way around the entire NFC defense.ANOTHER NO-CALLAdams hugged a line judge who didn’t throw a flag on an obvious pass interference play against Green Bay receiver Davonte Adams. Davonte Adams dropped to the ground in disbelief, and several NFC teammates protested.Players from both conferences spent the week lamenting a now-infamous no-call in the NFC title game.INJURIESPittsburgh Steelers receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster and Los Angeles Chargers receiver Keenan Allen left the game with bruised knees. Neither was considered serious, although Smith-Schuster was limping on the way to the bus and declined comment. Allen caught four passes for 95 yards before sitting out.UP NEXTNew England and the Los Angeles Rams play in the Super Bowl next Sunday. FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (AP) — A person familiar with the situation says the New England Patriots have reached an agreement on a two-year extension with receiver Julian Edelman. The deal is worth $18 million and includes an $8 million signing bonus and $12 million in guaranteed money. The source spoke on the condition of anonymity Tuesday because terms have not been announced.Edelman signed a two-year, $11 million extension in 2017. He was scheduled to make $2 million in base salary in 2019, with bonuses that pushed in close to $4 million. This extension keeps the 32-year-old under contract with the Patriots through the 2021 season.A seventh-round pick by New England in 2009, it also gives the reigning Super Bowl MVP a chance to complete his career with the team he’s helped win three rings.Edelman missed the entire 2017 season with a torn ACL and the first four games of the 2018 season for violating the league’s performance enhancers policy. But he helped steady New England down the stretch, finishing the season with 74 catches for 850 yards and six touchdowns.
KANSAS CITY Noah Fant Jersey , Mo. — assured of not only their third consecutive AFC West title but also the No. 1 seed in the playoffs before the Oakland Raiders came to town.Instead, they’ll have everything on the line Sunday. The Chiefs blew a fourth-quarter lead against the Chargers a couple weeks ago, and last week they lost a shootout in Seattle. They are now 0-2 with a chance to clinch the division, and they risk falling all the way to the No. 5 seed in the playoffs if they can’t defeat one of their longtime rivals.“Last time I checked we are in a pretty good position here,” Chiefs coach Andy Reid said. “I know it can become a woe-is-me thing and this is how it happens, it can be a negative. I feel like throughout the team, though, the guys understand where they’re at and what they need to do to fix it.100<button class="view-gallery">View Gallery</button> Gallery:View from the sidelines: NFL cheerleaders 2018Raj Mehta-USA TODAY Sports | Raj Mehta“The objective is to win games,” Reid said. “We have one game left here in the regular season.”Now, the Chiefs long ago locked up a spot in the postseason, so that won’t be an issue when they kick off against Oakland at the same time the Chargers are playing the Broncos. But what happens over the ensuing hours could potentially have massive playoff ramifications. If the Chiefs (11-4) win, they get a path through Arrowhead Stadium. If they lose and the Chargers win, Los Angeles vaults to the top of the AFC West and the No. 1 seed.If both teams lose, the Patriots or Texans would have a chance to snare the top spot, and Kansas City could conceivably go from having a bye to a wild-card matchup next weekend.“It’s a very small margin between winning and losing http://www.broncosauthorizedshops.com/authentic-dalton-risner-jersey ,” Reid said. “Very, very small. The pace can change quickly. So it’s important the attitude is right, and Kansas City has had a lot of ups and downs. Are players and coaches willing to make a change? We have an opportunity to do that.”The Raiders (4-11) would like nothing more than to play spoiler. They’ve lost seven of their last eight against the Chiefs, including a 40-33 shootout in Oakland earlier this season. But despite a season’s worth of turmoil with no end in sight — who knows where they will play next season? — the Raiders have quietly performed better. They beat the Steelers and Broncos in recent weeks and coach Jon Gruden believes his vast rebuilding job is making progress.“We’re trying to get some momentum for our offseason,” Gruden said. “This is our first year here. I know the expectations were high for some, but we’re laying the foundation for how we want to play.“All we can do is keep developing our team,” he said, “and fight like hell for 60 minutes.” As the Raiders and Chiefs prepare to meet, here are some key storylines:HEALTH CHECKThe Chiefs remain without wide receiver Sammy Watkins because of a sore foot, but they hope to get cornerback Kendall Fuller back from a broken hand. Their defense was shredded by the Seahawks when he decided at game time that he would be unable to go. “That’s a day-to-day thing,” Reid said, “but I think he feels a lot better.”HEALTH CHECK, PART 2Raiders left guard Kelechi Osemele returned last week against Denver and instantly upgraded the entire offense. He did not allow a pressure in 31 passing snaps and helped pave the way for Doug Martin to run for a season-best 107 yards. “It’s always good to be able to do that,” said Osemele, who’d been out with a knee injury. “It’s a great feeling, man.”CARLSON’S KICKSOne of the few bright spots for Oakland this season has been rookie kicker Daniel Carlson Drew Lock Jersey , who is perfect on extra points and 15 of 16 on field goals since signing in October. The fifth-round pick was cut by Minnesota after missing all three field goals in Week 2, but he could break Sebastian Janikowski’s franchise record for field-goal accuracy in a season set in 2012. “To me that’s something you enjoy later in life,” he said. “You enjoy it in the offseason a little.”STEPPING UPOakland’s rookie tackles Kolton Miller and Brandon Parker have taken plenty of heat as the offensive line has failed to protect Derek Carr much of the season. “I know Pro Football Focus has some statistics that aren’t always positive,” Gruden said, “but they played very good, and not just pass protecting but run blocking and handling the audibles. We have seen a lot of progress there.”SLOW STARTSOne common thread during the Chiefs’ late-season slide: slow starts by quarterback Patrick Mahomes, who nonetheless remains a top candidate for league MVP. He was 1 of 7 out of the gates against Seattle, though he bounced back to have another solid game.“It’s all about the next play. The next play you always have an opportunity to do better,” Mahomes said. “As long as you go out there and execute the next play, that’s the best thing you can do.” DENVER (AP) — Von Miller went bonkers when Bradley Chubb fell to the Denver Broncos with the fifth pick in the NFL draft.Chubb not only takes pressure off Miller, who hasn’t been back to the playoffs since winning Super Bowl 50 MVP honors. He bolsters what was already a dynamic Denver pass rush that gives opponents fits and covers a whole lot of warts in the Broncos’ beleaguered secondary.Rather than grab another quarterback in the first round — his last one didn’t work out so well — general manager John Elway selected the North Carolina State edge rusher who was widely regarded as the best defender in the 2017 draft class. Now, the Broncos can send Miller, Chubb, Shane Ray and Shaq Barrett at quarterbacks from the outside while locking down the interior with a revitalized Derek Wolfe , a beefed-up DeMarcus Walker, a rejuvenated Adam Gotsis and free agent acquisition Clinton McDonald at defensive end. Then there’s nose tackles Shelby Harris and the Peko cousins http://www.broncosauthorizedshops.com/authentic-dre_mont-jones-jersey , Domata and Kyle, to provide inside push and help thwart the run.Of course, it will only matter if Denver’s refurbished offense buttressed by free agent QB Case Keenum, rookie receivers Courtland Sutton and DaeSean Hamilton and rookie running back Royce Freeman, starts scoring points like it did when Peyton Manning was hollering out, “Hurry, hurry!”In the two seasons since Manning retired, the Broncos haven’t played with a lead often enough to capitalize on their pass rush prowess or what had been a stellar secondary.Cornerback Chris Harris Jr., was pleased to finally face an offense in training camp that held its own.“Our offense is way better than they were last year,” Harris said. “I see them putting up points, at least 30 a game.… because we have Bill Musgrave, a great offensive coordinator. We used to hate going against him. We used to call him ‘Mad Scientist’ when he was in Oakland, so they have a great offense. It fits Case well. He has great weapons. I don’t see why they can’t average 30.”NO MORE NO FLY ZONE : A prolific offense will help a defense that went through a spate of injuries in the secondary, then lost a second member of the original “No Fly Zone” with the trade of cornerback Aqib Talib to the Rams this spring. The Broncos had their share of growing pains after safety T.J. Ward was waived last year. Now the original “No Fly Zone” is down to safety Darren Stewart and Harris, who said the chemistry with cornerback Bradley Roby was slow to develop this summer after never needing to consider it with Talib.“It was so easy that you never realized that you have to work for that with someone else,” Harris said. “Me and ‘Lib used to come out on the field — Bam! If he sees something T.J. Hockenson Jersey , I see it.”Asked when he thought that would come together with Roby, Harris said, “as soon as Roby gets it. It shouldn’t take long as long as he gets it. Once he gets it, we’ll be on the same page.”REFRESHED RECEIVERS : It didn’t take long for Emmanuel Sanders to get on the same page with Keenum. Finally healthy after an injury-marred 2017 season, Sanders was the star of training camp even as rookie Sutton, another SMU alum, was entertaining the crowds with daily highlight reel catches.Sanders said his enthusiasm isn’t just a byproduct of his return to health but of Keenum’s arrival. For the first time since 2015, Sanders worked exclusively with the starting QB and didn’t have to endure a prolonged quarterback competition that siphoned chemistry and rhythm from the offense once the regular season rolled around. He and Demaryius Thomas also were pushed by the rookies.“This is one of those wide receiver groups that can definitely carry this team,” Sanders said. “Elway has his pick of the litter in that room.”BOUNCE BACKS : The Broncos haven’t had back-to-back losing seasons since 1971-72 and several players need bounce-back seasons to keep that streak alive. So do the coaches.Elway contemplated firing Joseph following his 5-11 rookie season but decided to give him another chance, then provided him with a massive roster upgrade rather than going on another coaching search and starting over.Joseph realizes he won’t get another chance if things don’t change, however.“Winning football games is a must this year,” Joseph said. “We have to do that. That’s why they hired me.”
When reading our blurb on the NFL MVP award last night Ugo Amadi Jersey , I did a double take. But the numbers listed were accurate, even though they point to a weird sort of King Solomonesque compromise in which multiple voters obviously engaged. MVP award over Saints quarterback Drew Brees by a vote of 41-9 but with Mahomes previously becoming the All-Pro quarterback over Brees by a vote of 45-5, at least four voters who picked Mahomes over Brees as the best quarterback in the league picked Brees over Mahomes as the MVP.In past years, the compromise has happened with some voters supporting one quarterback as MVP and the other as offensive player of the year. This year, at least four voters who thought that Mahomes was the best quarterback thought Brees was the MVP. (It could have been more than four, if some of the people who voted for Mahomes as MVP had voted for Brees as the best quarterback.)Given that the same 50 voters for the All-Pro team vote for the MVP and given that all votes are due within three days after the end of the regular season, these selections are as apples-to-apples as they can be. Four of the 50 voters on the panel actually believed Mahomes is the best quarterback in the league, and that Brees is nevertheless the MVP.Maybe they’ll identify who they are and explain their reasoning. Whatever the explanation Dwayne Haskins Jersey , it likely won’t be an easy one to make. And it could be even harder to understand. HOUSTON (AP) — Last year at this time, Houston’s J.J. Watt and Deshaun Watson were rehabbing after serious injuries cut both of their seasons short and contributed to the Texans‘ terrible 4-12 season.Healthy and thriving this season, the stars lead the AFC South champion Texans into Saturday’s wild-card game against Indianapolis.“We talked about times like this when we were in the training room, what we wanted to accomplish and what we were working toward,” Watt said.“So, for it to be where we are now and to have everything in front of us, it feels really good. I think that we can both look back at all the work and all the tough times that we had and be happy and proud of where we’re at now.”On Sunday, moments after Houston clinched its third division title in four years with a win over the Jaguars D.K. Metcalf Jersey , the quarterback and defensive end found each other amid scores of players celebrating on the field and shared a big hug. After neither of them was able to play a full season last year it was a moment to appreciate their journeys and the accomplishment of not only playing all 16 games, but helping the Texans to their fifth playoff appearance.Watson said they often meet up on the field or in the locker room after games, but admitted that this time it was different.“There was a little bit more because we clinched the division, AFC South champs,” Watson said. “We finished a full season together, so it was a special moment.”Coach Bill O’Brien said when he was at the stadium during the offseason he’d often find the two players together working in the training room.“They were together a lot,” he said. “They were side-by-side. Different injuries, but kind of going through the same schedule of things … (and) it looks like there was a bond created there … and I think that was good for both guys.”Watson returned this season after playing just seven games as a rookie after tearing a knee ligament in practice. The 12th overall pick in the 2017 draft threw for 4 http://www.seahawksauthorizedshops.com/authentic-cody-barton-jersey ,165 yards and 26 touchdowns this season to become the second player in team history and first since Matt Schaub in 2012 to throw for 4,000 yards. He added 551 yards rushing and five touchdowns to become the first player to have at least 4,000 yards passing and 25 touchdowns and 500 yards rushing and five scores in a season in NFL history.Watson hasn’t thrown an interception in 207 straight attempts, a franchise record and the longest active streak in the NFL. His emergence is a revelation for a team that has had a revolving door at quarterback since Schaub was traded before the 2014 season.Watt’s comeback comes after the three-time NFL Defensive Player of the Year played just eight games over the previous two seasons because of back surgeries and a broken leg. He was selected to his fifth Pro Bowl and first since 2015 in a season where he had 61 tackles, led the AFC with 16 sacks, had 25 quarterback hits, 18 tackles for losses and forced a career-high seven fumbles, which tied for the most in the NFL. It’s his fourth season with at least 15 sacks Gary Jennings Jr. Jersey , which ranks second in NFL history behind Hall of Famer Reggie White, who had five.Watt feels as if their time working together to get back on the field helped build their relationship. And after seeing 11 different quarterbacks start a game for Houston since he was drafted in 2011, he loves the continuity Watson has provided at the position.“We have a great relationship. He’s an incredible talent,” Watt said. “He’s a great guy and I’ve been through a lot of quarterbacks here throughout my career. So, to have a guy back there who’s special and can do a lot of different things, it’s great.”Watson agreed that their time spent together when they were injured helped forge a closer friendship and he even went so far as to say that he now sees Watt like a brother. While the pair is grinding to return to pre-injury form, they had many conversations about the future and the 29-year-old Watt had plenty of advice for the 23-year-old Watson.“Just being able to be on the same page,” Watson said. “Like he told me back then http://www.seahawksauthorizedshops.com/authentic-phil-haynes-jersey , he’s going to be that leader on that defense, and lead that whole troop, that whole squad and I’m going to do the same for the offense and we’re going to bring this whole team up. We knew the work we had to put in to be able to come back and play a full season and try to get the team to this position, to have a chance.”And on Saturday they’ll try and continue their strong rebound seasons and get Houston a win to put the Texans in the divisional round for the fourth time and first since the 2016 season.
